*SPOILERS: I would highly recommend watching all of Clannad and After Story first before watching this video.
Clannad is a very special anime for me, I stand by it being one of the best drama shows the medium has to offer. In this video I focus on only one of the many, many themes the show presents. Looking at how the show portrays time, flow and change (or the sources for hardships in life) and how Tomoya gradually learns to overcome them. I hope you enjoy the video! This should be obvious, but, this is not a review.

Clannad description:
A drama and romance visual novel in which the player assumes the role of Tomoya Okazaki. Much of its gameplay is spent on reading the story's narrative and dialogue. Clannad follows a branching plot line with multiple endings; depending on the decisions that the player makes during the game, the plot will progress in a specific direction.
Both the Clannad and After Story anime are available from Sentai Filmworks on Blu-ray and DVD.

Tamako Love Story, the continuation of Tamako Market, is one of my favourite anime movies for one huge reason, its subtle but excellent visual composition (or cinematography). Honestly, Kyoto Animation are just such a great studio. In my opinion, it's a must watch if you've enjoyed other shows I've talked about on this channel- in this video I wanted to explain why.

"It's all the same thing" is something I hear thrown around a lot when discussing slice of life anime, which couldn't be any less true. So, I decided to do the only logical thing and make a video on it! Here are the misconception(s) of slice of life in anime.

In this video I take a look at the specifics of why Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash (Hai to Gensou no Grimgar) stands out as a fantasy show, and why I believe this alone is enough to confidently say it's great. Also, although I featured a bunch of anime that I believe lack much originality, that doesn't equate to a complete lack of value! (Just a note if that somehow angers you!)

Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash description:
Living, isn't easy. When Haruhiro awakens, he's in the dark. He doesn't know where he is, why is he here, and where he came from.
Around him there are several men and women who have the same circumstances. Together, they advance forward away from the darkness, and a world they've never seen before called "Grimgar" spreads out before them. Memories, money, special powers — This is the reality we who have none of those things have obtained.

Lighting is one of the most powerful cinematic techniques that a director/cinematographer can utilise in film, but what about anime? Turns out a lot of the same tricks of the trade still apply. This video features shots from over 35 anime, with an in-depth look at 7 of them. All make excellent use of lighting in one way or another.
