This zigzag set quilt features Ohio Star blocks created as part of a block exchange. This is a great way to make a scrappy style quilt and have fun sharing your stash with quilt friends. Mary Fons and Liz Porter will show you how to over-size the hourglass unit in this quilt block design to increase the accuracy of your piecing. They will also discuss this concept as it relates to a block exchange. The zigzag design is popular, and this setting is a more updated look that still works well with the traditional Ohio Star block. This quilt, Ohio Star, was designed and constructed by Liz Porter and hand quilted by the Troyer family. Ohio Star is featured in the January/February 2014 issue of Love of Quilting.
