However, seeing as living on a genuine Amsterdam houseboat is an integral part to a first visit to the city, what choice does a tourist have?
Having stayed at a fairly modern and luxurious Airbnb houseboat earlier this week, I felt I'd missed out on the real deal. So I started searching for an actual houseboat that floats and has a more authentic feel to it. Sadly these boats cost no less and all of them have a 2 day stay minimum rule. So off I went to once again embrace the Amsterdam river houseboat lifestyle.... only this time as a carbon neutral flower power Amsterdam cat lady named Karen.....
