Here with a look at the business side of the holiday is our very own Betsy Swoon! Candy is dandy, ladies... which is dandy, because that's what people love most! The National Retail Federation is expecting Valentine's Day spending this year to reach NINETEEN-POINT-SIX BILLION DOLLARS, and a full FIFTY-FIVE PERCENT are planning to give their loves some candy! Including over FORTY MILLION heart-shaped boxes of chocolate! And if that seems less romantic to you than flowers, you should know that 69 PERCENT of people prefer the sweet stuff! And that's a real stat, not just a number we find excuses to say!
