On the surface this film is about a group of people who have been labelled “villains”, working together to save the world. But really, this film is about one man and one man alone, he isn’t strong, but yet he defies all odds and sacrifices his life to save his friends. His only power is his bravery, he is the driver of the van and the main character of this film, Milton.
EDDIE MUNSON PLAYING MASTER OF PUPPETS IN THE UPSIDE DOWN WAS LEGENDARY!
"Chrissy, this is for you."
The haters are going to hate this movie. Mostly because they just default to hating Captain Marvel and Ms Marvel. Come in just looking for things to hate. But this movie is a LOT of fun. Go in in a light hearted mood. Numerous things had me laughing out loud in the cinema.
The end could have been wrapped up a bit faster.
And OMFG THE MID-CREDITS SCENE!!! OMGOMGOMOGOD!!! (there is no post-credits scene).
Some people are making a fuss that the timeline is confusing. Since this is the internet it gets blown out of proportion. You get a clear hint in one episode this is happening and its easy to figure it out afterwards. That being said, just watch it! It´s really good!
Making Sam deaf was a great example of how diversity and representation don't have to compromise a character. I'm not deaf myself, I don't know anyone who's deaf, and yet you won't hear anything negative from me about Sam being deaf, because 1) it's not my place to judge whether it's meaningful to those represented, and 2) they managed to keep everything that really mattered about him.
In fact, I'd argue Craig Mazin even elevated Sam's character and his dynamic with Henry by tying his deafness to his innocence. Sam can't hear the gunfire, explosions, screaming, and tough conversations that Henry has to deal with and protect Sam from. It ties into what Joel tells Henry about how being a kid is easier. What a great adaptation of this chapter in the story.
That moment where Sam is sitting on the edge of the bed and we don't know if he's turned was adapted brilliantly. In the show, Ellie knows he's infected, but when she calls out to him and gets no response, she doesn't know if he's okay, because he's deaf. Great example of incorporating representation into a story in an uncompromising and meaningful way.
There's only a few times in your life you'll live through a cultural Phenomenon. First Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The X-Files. Something people will remember, reference, and talk about decades later. I truly believe Stranger Things is one of those.
When you watch a movie and wish that it went for another 2 hours - fantastic.
Wow what a ride. So much to process. Good laughs and also some tears. Will need to watch it again. Thank you James Gunn for the Guardians of the Galaxy
Everything I wanted it to be and more. Perfectly cast and excellent soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. Epic Sci-Fi at its best.
I disagree with other comments that the pacing of this episode is slow. I didn't notice it any slower than any GOT episode. Every episode doesn't need war or intensity to be satisfying. A good show needs character building to set up further story.
Probably the first four-hour movie that I watched in one sitting. Not a perfect one, but the first fiction that caused me emotions since "Endgame". The plot is interesting. The characters are developed. The soundtrack is incredible. It could have been a beginning of something, but, you know what happened. Such a pity that a franchise with this potential has been lost.
It was everything they said it would be and then some! Supreme spectacle with otherworldly intensity. Fan first was an experience I’ll never forget. A film for the ages. Long live the fighters!
One of the best solo MCU movies in a while. I went into this not knowing the story at all. I was highly entertained and not lost at all. Definitely worth the $12 at the theater!
dudeeee, that's last look totally telling you it's gonna be hell for what coming next!!
they finally showed us how to communicate through lights!!!!! and also THAT FUCKING REVELATION THO I SERIOUSLY DID NOT SEE THAT ONE COMING!!!!!!! LASTLY, WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO TEAM CALIFORNIA???????
one didn't survive, the other couldn't endure
And with this, Paddy Considine won a Emmy. Another 10/10 episode, and keeps getting better. I cant believe it ends in 2 weeks.
I don't care, I like it, I'm watching it.
This is what made GOT so great in the earlier seasons. The nuanced characters, rich dialogue, and complex politics. You can feel all of the chess pieces being set up and the game starting to be played. I’m absolutely loving this so far. And those opening credits with the original GOT theme has me feeling some type of way.
This is not a movie about dragons and the world of Kumandra. This is about Earth, this is the real world. We are divided, groups of people completely hating each other inside the same nation.
Unfortunately we are facing our own Druun, our plague. But as in the movie, this isn't our biggest problem. The real enemy is our inability to work together as a community, to put aside political views and really trust each other, working together for the best of everybody.
Beyond the important and necessary message, the movie is a fun adventure, the world building is great and the technical aspect is what you would expect of a Disney movie.
They stuck the landing and delivered. A really great, satisfying finale that sets up the final season.
This too early to have a filler episode. Waste of an hour. Watch the first 5 mins and last 5 mins. Rest has zero value to story progression.
Great take on a classic character, unexpectedly good and with the best song soundtrack in a while
Slow, plodding and overfluffed for time. Could easily have been an okay 90 minute movie, but instead was a painstaking 2H47 minute slog. Action sequences were not adequate as a payoff and the themes and underlying messages were convoluted and all over the map in the wrong way. Couldn't sit through the whole movie, didn't miss anyhting significant when I took a break, and STILL found enough time again to get bored. Cannot possibly recommend.
Best show this year, fanboys need to stop crying
I feel like an extra 25 or 30 minutes would have been better to draw out the drama a little more. Still, pretty good and I can't wait for season 2!
Okay, what the f? How did they pull this brilliant piece of cinema off? I am your standard hater of Disney live-action and I am pleasantly surprised they made me enjoy a Cruella origin film. Wtf. I want that little dog Wink. What a boss.
