Gives a straightforward, non-sensationalistic view of the 10/1/2017 Vegas / Route 91 attack, from the viewpoint of those who lived through the tragedy, rather than analyzing and aggrandizing the cowardly perpetrator. Many unknown and unheralded acts of courage occurred that night, as an evening of fun and frivolity suddenly became a fight for survival, and a step to the left or right could mean the difference between life and death.
Probably the best episode so far. Short sellers can all eat shit.
The Neon Demon is a horror movie? starring Elle Fanning, Jena Malone, and Keanu Reeves. There’s so much artistic douchebaggery going on that it’s hard to get a handle on what kind of film this is. The story is your basic naïve teenage girl coming to Los Angeles to make it as a fashion model and finding that success inspires the homicidal envy of her peers. The sets and costume designs are incredibly well-done, and create a very visually rich look. But with all the symbolism and metaphors going on, it’s really difficult to follow the plot. A problematic film, The Neon Demon is a fascinating dark fairy tale that’s just too artistic for its own good.
If you want some nililistic entertainment with some of the usual social messages.
this season would've been so much better with the whole russian military subplot minimized.. it took me 3 months and multiple attempts to finally watch s4 pt2 because I DO NOT CARE about that plotline and it's so drawn out
Enjoyed the movie and this series seems that it will touch on more, go deeper, and be even more heartfelt with more time to do so. As a Doctor Who and Sherlock fan, all I can say is Moffat!
i see why it didn’t get renewed but… man. kinda wish there was another season lol hey!! at least it was a happy(ish) end!
It's a bit more drama then I expected, I thought it was going to be a bit more action.
I'm about 6 episodes into the first season. Do really like it though. Rose Leslie is superb, Theo James is 100 times better in this role then when he was in Divergent.
Although I recently had a positive experience with his first film, Hard Eight, on the whole I've come to realize that PT Anderson films are not my speed. I recognize the quality filmmaking. I recognize the quality acting. I recognize the quality of pretty much everything on display except for the story being told. In this case, the story doesn't feel like much of a story at all. Less of a cohesive whole and more of a series of short stories, each introducing new, short-term characters to bounce off of our two protagonists and their strange/disturbing relationship. I didn't have anyone to root for and I didn't particularly sympathize with any of these characters. It was just 2+ hours of well executed but generally uncomfortable viewing. I will say that all of my critiques are clearly the product of intentional decisions on the part of the filmmakers. This is exactly the movie they wanted to make, it's just not a movie for me.
Definitely one of the best movies in the last 10 years. I don't give 10/10 just because my math professor always told me: ''10/10 is impossible to achieve and that's why you should always try to get there'', so i got traumatized.
No, seriously, i just felt the acting a little too forced in certain scenes (which doesn't mean i consider it bad, not at all!).
Why are you still reading go watch it! It's one in 10'000 movies.
Eh... a bit too much I'd say. Convoluted for the sake of it. But yes, as others mentioned, great soundtrack!
Den of thieves is definitely a lesser Heat (1995) but it's surely a better Triple 9 (2016).
This is like the poor man's Heat. If you start to think a little bit about the plot, everything breaks down.
The boxing scenes are shot really well but everything outside of the ring is just mediocre.
I thought the film was quite ordinary and it didn’t evoke any particular feelings. It felt like a miscast role for such a talented actor like Will Smith to portray Muhammad Ali. The boxing scenes were energetic and well-produced, but overall, it didn’t quite capture the essence of Muhammad Ali’s character.
I would give it a 6 out of 10 rating.”
It was a great show for 5 seasons. Solid 9/10. After watching the 6th one, I honestly don't think anything out there compares any more.
9.5/10 overall for me.
It's no easy feat becoming a worthy spinoff for a show as acclaimed as Breaking Bad, but they pulled it off big time.
While the costumes suck and the cgi could've been better its finally good to see a live action that adapts the story to its full potential only changing things here and there so it can fit the length of the movie. I also like how they made this much more personal than the show.
The only thing I didn't like was the ending. It seems they are jumping the Red Hot Chilli Pepper assault and go straight for Kira. That kind of breaks the pace of the story. They also say have this tendency of saying something like the audience is aware but it was said off screen. It's weird.
But overall 6.5/10. Solid adaptation and hope it gets a sequel. Next is Gintama.
The real horror of The Hug was a group of originally 7 children and a mother having to share 6 slices of pizza. I mean, something had to be done
Best movie/show I’ve seen in awhile!
I like Chris Pratt but I still don’t think he can do the dark brooding type he plays in this but it doesn’t detract a lot from the overall show.
The only other complaint is that I could see the plot twist from very early in the show!
Overall, an 8 out of 10! Can’t wait to see if season 2 is as good!
Though it’s a bit formulaic at first, The Uninvited turns into an impressive psychological thriller. After being released from a psychiatric ward, Anna returns home and has a vision of her mother’s spirit that causes her to suspect that her father’s new girlfriend was behind her mother’s death. Emily Browning, Elizabeth Banks, Arielle Kebbel, and David Strathairn lead the cast and give strong performances; particularly Browning and Kebbel, who are especially good together, having a real sisterly chemistry. And while the story seems to follow a predictable path, it leaves itself open to some interesting misleads and plot twists. The Uninvited takes a fairly rote murder mystery and turns it into something better than it otherwise ought to be.
