This series is so mindblowingly great
The Marvel Universe becomes transcendental. It doesn't veer far from the Marvel formula but it is hugely entertaining and Cumberbatch is terrific, as usual.
Strangely, there are echoes of some of the lesser superhero movies within. Green Lantern, Elektra and 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer share similarities. Obviously, Doctor Strange is better than all of them and takes the superhero genre into a new, fantastical realm.
This episode perfectly fits Coach Beards personia. The humor and vibe have put this episode amongst my top favorites of the series.
That was a heavily loaded episode. But the writers already said loong beforehand they'd include these topics/are contemplating on how to deal with writing a cop show in these times, so no surprise there. They did a good job, especially not ending on a joke, even if the second episode sets itself free from the context of the precinct to be "fun" again even if it might be for just one episode. It's foremost a comedy after all and making fun inside the precinct is going to be difficult in this last season, given what's going on currently in this world. Completely ignoring it, in quite a diverse cop show no less that never shied away from addressing issues, would be irresponsible. Personally, I am looking forward how - if at all - they are going to deal with what this first episode set in motion in this challenging last season. This show never shied away from addressing the elephant in the room, never too subtle either. But now it's a problem for some?
I want expecting much when it came up as a suggestion in my prime lists.
if you're a homophob, not for you.
if you're not into girl power, strong women, not for you.
if you're racist, not going to be for you.
if you like fantasy, crossed with "crime" solving, military-ish with superwomen? you're in luck.
it's surprisingly engaging. charmed with a while lot more kick-assery going on.
fun movie. the concept has been done before, to a point -- yet, the material felt fresh. I was a big fan of the camera movements when "activated"
What ruins this film is the end, why it is OK for <bender to stay the way he is, but Allison MUST change her looks and behaviour in order to "fit in"? I am no teenager and since I was a child in the 80's that issue has always bothered me.
Stormfront is all about female empowerment but also a sadistic racist? Damn. This show really isn't afraid of anything and I love it xD Can't wait for the moment she gets killed by Kimiko.
Thought I was going to watch a Bolton/Baratheon battle, got Cersei's breasts instead.
How dare they make us care for Nate and how dare they be so good at it?
Wow. This was a lot better than what I was expecting. It's not the greatest movie ever, but a ton of fun for sure, and brings back a good amount of the charm of the original movie. Blows the sequels out of the water for sure.
This episode has left me with more questions than answers:sob:
"The only thing you won last heist was a lifetime of mediocre heterosexual intercourse with Jake."
Dead.
You have to go in expecting it to be a bit silly and it doesnt have the most talented editor but if you can get past that then you'll find fucking salvation!!! Imagine supernatural if it wasnt a homophobic, misogynistic, racist fuck up of a show. With actually funny as hell lines and great actors!! watch this, its really worth it!
Repairing a power armor component only costs 5 caps? I feel so ripped off right now.
Don’t listen to the people saying DD is “ruined” from this episode, apparently they’ve never read the comics OR remember the show (or expect someone to dump all their trauma onto a character they just met in a legal comedy? Some people are really writing these reviews without a single actual critical lens).
This was a fun episode and I had a great time - though one of my biggest criticisms is the overarching plot that they’ve been trying to establish. It has a lot of potential, but the pacing of this storyline has been off for me the entire show. Besides the CGI it’s one of my biggest gripes, and I felt it again towards the end of this episode. There’s only one episode left and I really don’t know that it’s going to get concluded in a way I feel is satisfying, though that’s something I’ll have to wait until the finale to properly review.
Besides that though I had such a great time - it was SO great seeing Matt again and Leapfrog was a funny inclusion. Despite my above reservations I’m excited for the finale and seeing how this is going to go.
That might've been one of my favorite cold opens ever. "Maybe I don't have an arch nemesis because I solve all my crimes". It's a good thing Jake was at a police precinct because that was straight up murder.
Love how the car chase scene was filmed. Kate is so fun and her banter with Clint is great as ever. The moment with her writing down to let him know what little Nate was saying was incredibly sweet. Maya is a cool character so far too, I'm really enjoying this show more than I thought so far.
I've played LoL on a handful of occasions throughout the years but never enough to be familiar with the world/lore. So I went into this show pretty much blind and with little expectations because of previous games to TV adaptions.
But boy were my expectations completely blown out of the water. Everything in the first three episodes was damn near perfect. Animation. Score/soundtrack. Voice acting. World building. Captivating Story. Interesting Characters. Fucking insane. I cannot wait for the next episodes.
This episode was a masterpiece. I love how the machine runs simulations. I love Finch's lesson about "anyone who treats life like a game of chess deserves to lose". I loved the simplified dialogue. I love both kisses. Fusko/Root for whimsy, and Shaw/Root because finally.
But I don't want to see Shaw go. She feels integral to everything. Apparently the actress Sarah Shahi is pregnant so this is the way they deal with that, but that means she is going to be jobless in a year or two, and we never saw the dead body. No body, no death. She got shot a lot but we have seen everyone else come back from worse. It took a grenade in the face to kill Reese in the simulation. So she'll be back. Calling it now.
"Cheddar, you duplicitous bitch!"
Finally, a good sequel. Good god the animation, it's so beautiful. And the action was so smooth. Also, Pixar better gives us a short movie about Edna babysitting Jack-Jack.
I hope Darhk destroys the world so that I don't feel like I need to keep watching this show
oh just fuck off now, this was a show about football, why am i almost in tears about a fake player making his England debut wearing the number 24! truly an incredible episode, the last 3 episodes have all been out of the park brilliant and this show coming to an end in 2 episodes time is an absolute travesty
OMG That was so hardcore.. The darkest episode in the show so far.
As Butcher would say, “Fuckin Diabolical!”
Even Homelander was clueless when everyone started exploding haha
Surprisingly culturally accurate with the whole Pakistani household and auntie gossiping and what not. I'm just glad this isn't marvel studios trying to be pushy with Islam and bring in Islamic fans. It's great and nothing seems forced (for the first ep at least).
It's interesting to see Nate become an asshole, since at the beginning he was the innocent character, sadly I know this kinds of things actually happen and people forget where they came from and who help them along the way.
Thanks The Boys... 15 years watching Supernatural looking forward to seeing Jensen's ass and you guys gave us this delicious moment after only 2 episodes!
