Wouldn’t it be easier and safer to put the robots (replicas) on the space mission? Like duh? They do not need life support system, food, and physical activity. Would it be nicer if they actual humans stayed in their homes and spend their time with family?
Somehow, the pilot of story twisted to make us watch 80 minutes episode, almost as long as a movie. Just to tell us that we need to take care of our family and loved ones! The only explanation for this movie plot is that the astronauts were already in a long distance space mission and later on, they have decided to make the replicas for their families.
Great episode, but it didn't feel like Black Mirror. It's missing the sci-fi element, the dystopian topic, the futuristic technology aspect.
Imagine being a writer for a moment, one people love and praise, but being trapped in a box that the people who love your work create. Imagine in the beginning you thriving in that box, people loving you more and more, but eventually you've explored everything in the box. Now suddenly people drag you down, "why is he telling stories outside the box?" This is why season 6 took 4 years, because none of these episodes were bad, but because 3 of the 5 weren't inside the box all this hate gets written. Time to move on people, something is indeed better than nothing, and the more you complain about the theme, the closer you get to black mirror straight out ending and red mirror taking it's place, because all good writers eventually learn how to silence the haters and write with their heart, not with a gun to their head.
I got the feeling the writers hated people guessing their twists in season one, so they came up with as many bullshit twists as they could for this season, delivered in the most confusing ways possible.
bs movie
Bye Jodie, thanks for everything. You didn't deserved all the hate.
Wth was that dren? Ugh. So predictable. The ending was written all over the guy's face from the beginning. The scene where the gf dies?? Seriously? That was it?. Sigh...really didn't like this one. Felt like a student film final project. The story and characters needed something more.
Kind of a mixed bag, I wanted to like this more.
I love how non judgemental it is, they could’ve easily taken the route to criticize the system and make a point about how these people need financial support from the state (like Sorry to Bother You, for example).
Instead, it presents a balanced perspective of both the struggles and charm of this lifestyle.
Also, the characters are interesting, the acting is great and it’s shot extremely well.
However, I find it quite baffling how nobody seems to want to point out the obvious flaw of this film: it lacks drama and .... well, a story.
There is no progression to the characters or the events in this film.
In other words, you could rearrange a lot of bits and it wouldn’t make a single difference.
As a result, the pacing kinda drags, and I started to check out halfway through.
This probably should’ve been a documentary instead.
5/10
It was simply great, a great send out episode, you got a worthy episode of you.
I didn't love the writing of your run, but I'm sure as hell I'm going to miss you Jodie.
Holy fuck that was so bad, don't get me wrong Ncuti Gatwa is a great actor but he's terrible Doctor Who, didn't feel the magic that previous actors had. Ruby is so irritating and can't bare her on screen. I completely lost hope that this series is gonna be good again. Maybe I will come back to Doctor Who when they change the actor again, if this series will last this long
Really great show. Once you get past the first two episodes it becomes quite compelling. Yes, it's a teenage drama, that doesn't make it a bad show.
Handy we can always keep DT on call if it doesn't work. However the new doctor got off on a good start. Also loved NPH in it he's always amazing. It should've lasted longer haha. Can't wait for the next one
So...
What about whiterose's machine? Why did she kill herself? What was her plan?
What about Angela? How did WR Brainwash her? What did she show her?
What was the point of Tyrell?
The whole ordeal was like a make-a-wish kid was given full control.
The music never fucking stops! and it wasn't good music, it was just looped in the middle. (I wasn't at home viewing It on my system, but I could barely hear any dialogue)
It has sweeping camera shots trying to be 'Buffy Once more with feeling" but they do nothing, they lead to nothing.
Again the whole look of the episode is equal to some cute little furry alien tiddlyweens programme on cbeebies.
It all felt like a charity special short that wasn't short.
then another character talks to the pissing camera. (the character who is moaning about the box at the beginning, suddenly knows all)
I wonder if this is a massive fuck up by the BBC akin to The Only fools and horses one from the late 90s.
Wait what. All the officers wearing a helmet while the Sikh officer is wearing a turban with no helmet. Is his turban bullet proof or something? Because I thought the whole point of the helmet is to protect the head.
Killing off Blink was a stupid idea.
The episode felt a lot like "Black Mirror" again. Nice ending.
This would have been a lot better if they had done some more world building, showing how this enterprise came to be and explore other possibilites of that body possessing machine. The ending also felt rushed.
What could further the story? Oh yeah, killing off the best character.
Unengaging show about unlikable characters. Disgust and boredom were the only emotions this show managed to evoke in me.
So far I would say this is the weakest episode of this season. It's not just because the topic is a bit different. It's just that nobody in this episode do I find particularly believable.
I hope more people see it
To all of you who are disappointed because you expected so much more, since The Matrix became a cult sci-fi movie bla bla bla... That's precisely what this film is about: a fun critique to all the super serious sagas that are sucking up so much of our time, like Marvels, DCs and all the rest. And yes, to the original Matrix itself, which was really about the evolution of a transgender person, and not the serious transcendentalist stuff we want it to be. Just lighten up and don't take things so seriously, guys.
This is a MUST WATCH! Don't let the Nazis take over the world using false narratives.
Expository infodumps. Irrational character decisions. Flimsy philosophy. Generic action sequences.
After the disappointing S2, this whole season has been a disgrace.
Let's see how far this show can fall...
So our Elliot breaks the recursive loop and we learn that he's not THE Elliot. Or not the entire Elliot. Or something. I'm pretty sure that this won't make a lot more sense when I get around to watching it all again, but the acting in this one was once again stellar. At the same time, though, I got the sense from the artsy-ness of it all that Esmail was trying too hard and overcompensating for some art teacher of his in the past who had sold him short. Or something. Still, few can end a show as creatively as he did here, so props to him for that.
Yes, there was a great plot-twist. Yes, I didn't see that coming. But what did it bring to the series, everything that has happened hasn't all of a sudden happened in a different perspective. It didn't really change the view on the show. Maybe here or there there might have been some signals that this new plot could've been detected. Unfortunatly the plot-twist didn't blow my mind (like in a 6th sense kind of way). It kind of leaves me searching for the reason why Sam thought this was the best possible ending...
I do wish they would include only one UFO/supernatural episode each season. These episode types seem to drag on forever.
Story is totally disjointed. Jumps all over the place. It has unnecessary characters,
including the whole group with the containers In the field. Felt that we wasted
6 hours of our life hoping for a logical tie up to various plots.
