I've read a lot of really unflattering reviews about this one, but in the end decided to judge for myself and I was pleasantly surprised. It's not nearly as bad as some comments are making it out to be. I think this low ratings are given because people keep comparing it to HIMYM and they really shouldn't. This isn't a reboot, remake, it's not even a proper spinoff, it's its own little show. And when you stop comparing it, you can start enjoying it. The cast is loveable, the jokes are not quite there yet, but it did give me a couple of laughs. The only minor thing that's bothering me is that some characters are overacting like Ellen, they should tone it down a bit. I suppose they'll get better once they ease into their role and get more comfortable.
This isn't a masterpiece though, it's not gonna get rewards, but it is a fun watch and if you come to it with an open mind (not just thinking about HIMYM), you might even like it. I'm 3 episodes in and I think I will see it through cause I want to know who the father is. :)
Oh and seeing the old apartment and those swords was really a nice touch. I wonder if there will be any more references.
This must be the worst episode of Grey's ever. I'm honestly shocked and angry that this is how they decided to write off Karev.
Bringing back Izzie and making their love bloom again, really??? Izzie left million years ago, who cares about her anymore, I know I don't and I'm sure there are a lot of those who feel the same way. And were those recaps of previous seasons with them together supposed to make me emotional and happy? Because all it did was piss me off. She left him without even saying a word, had his kids without having a decency to let him know for 5 years and only told him because he called her by accident. And that is the kind of woman he left his wife for? They made him a real bastard. Jo doesn't deserve this, not after everything she's been through. Plus leaving her by letter? What kind of person does that. I guess he never really loved her at all. If he did, he would have asked her to move with him, so he could be closer to his kids, there's no reason for him to be with Izzie whatsoever. Horrible, horrible conclusion.
Before seeing the episode I thought that maybe he left cause he has his mother's desease and he didn't want to be a burden for Jo. That would be a far better explanation.
Such a heart-wrenching finale. I was holding back the tears trough the whole episode. Seeing Lexa again was wonderful and yet bitter-sweet. The fact that it wasn't really her made it so painful for me to watch. I honestly expected that those almighty creatures brought her back somehow at the end, so that Clarke wouldn't spend the rest of her life alone. I also didn't like that dead don't transcend. It would be much better if it turned out that the dead do transcend and everyone who died came back to Earth as well, that way Clarke would be reunited with all the people she lost, her parents, Lexa, Madi, Wells. I mean, they always say "May we meet again", it should've meant something. But all in all, the ending was touching and it's great they all chose to get back to Clarke and live on Earth with her even though I hate that she'll never see her daughter again. A bitter-sweet ending indeed.
This was one of my dearest shows and it saddens me that it has come to an end. I will forever miss all of those amazing, courageous characters, Murphy, Octavia, Raven, Clarke, Lexa, Emori, Echo... May we meet again.
I somehow caved and watched the episode and it was abysmal! It's worse than I thought it would be! I'm absolutely disgusted! Disgusted by how they victimized those diviant Lannisters! Disgusted by how they tried so hard in the last two episodes to show Dany as a tyrant! And then defend that storyline by saying it was foreshadowed. What a bunch of bullshit! All she tried her whole life was not to be like her father, she killed slaves masters and men who abused and enslaved women and children, she answered injustice with justice, protected those in need! That is literally what she was doing for 8 seasons! And let's not forget how she put north and Winterfell before her own needs and protected the people from the army of dead! So I don't buy this sudden insanity, it's just shitty writing. I would be fine with this if they portraited her as crazy from the start, but they didn't. And if killing evil men is foreshadowing insanity then they are all insane, Jon who killed those who betrayed him, Arya for killing and then cooking them in a pie (that's insane) while smiling like a psycho, etc. Dany never enjoyed killing anyone and she never harmed children. They butchered her character and used it as plot device for this shitty ending! And in the process they made me hate Jon for killing her... His story didn't make sense as well... He was so easily manipulated by Tyrion. And then there's Bran the king??? Are you kidding me? He is even more useless and inapt than Jon.. What was his goal anyway, just to get the crown cause he surely never did anything useful. No personality, no emotions and I think he could almost be a sociopath.. And that guy is in charge of 6 kingdoms?!? But he is a man so the future is bright now, right? I'm still pissed that they used "man will be a better ruler" line! And finaly we have Bronn who is now the master of coin, the guy who only cares about himself and brothels. I am disgusted! Utterly disgusted! Dany fought for nothing, the wheel keeps turning. I've never been so bitter about a show, but then again I've never cared this much about one or the characters. She will always be the most iconic character in television history. As for the show, I'll try to forget I've ever watched it.
I've got two more things to say:
Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons is the true and rightful queen to the Iron throne! Dracarys!
What the f*ck was this?!?! I've never been so pissed! Cersei is the one who is insane deviant psychopath, she is the one who's always been murdering innocents and yet they gave her this "heartbreaking" death, like I'm suppose to be sad for that bitch. She deserved much worse faith. And Dany!?! Dany has been nothing but kind, fair and good queen. She helped and saved people, she never ever hurt anyone who didn't deserve it. And now, all of a sudden, in less than 5 minutes they make her do something so out of character just to make her look mad! Why? Just to justify putting Jon on a throne! Because he's a man I guess?!? Jon who, let's face it, is an incapable ruler, he never did anything right and he would be dead a long time ago if it wasn't for other people saving his ass like Sansa, Arya and DANY, but somehow he gets all the credits, praise and promotions! I was rooting 7 season for her just to get this bullshit! F*ck this show and the writers! You managed to make the best show the worst show ever! I don't even care anymore about what happens in the last episode, they probably going to kill Dany so the dumb Jon could become a king. This show is dead to me.
I don't get the negative comments on this season. Sure, it was a bit slow, not many things happened, but it was all about characters growth, especially Villanelle's, I mean, she now wants to break free, to stop with the killing and she was willing to let go of Eve, so Eve could have a normal life, far away from V's dark influence. And there's Eve, who embraced her dark side for a moment, but is scared of it and wants to escape it. So, from that aspect, the season is really good.
Of course there are other things that could've been better. Kenny's death and Niko's story were obviously used as plot devices to make Eve work on the case again and bring her and V together. "Who killed Kenny" part should've been handled better, it's just so unbelievable that he accidentally fell off the roof. But all in all, the season was still strong.
I loved the ending and I'm glad they both turned back and chose each other (at least that's how I understood that scene). So I'm looking forward to seeing what's next season will bring. Maybe they'll work together to bring down the 12, since Villanelle wanted to join MI6.
Anyway, fingers crossed that this gets renewed for S5 as well!
I'm always excited to see the new Doctor gracing our screen, but what in the world was this? The Doctor in a tight, white, see-through shirt dancing in the club. Yeah, that's not something he would do. Then the Doctor feeling the need to explain why he used the pronoun "she" when he referred to the police officer's fiancée and how he guessed the officer was engaged to a woman and not a man. :person_facepalming:The plot didn't help either, it was messy with ridiculous teenage dialogue. He didn't feel like the Doctor either. Every previous actor embodied the essence of the Doctor perfectly and there were no doubt they were the Doctor from the very first moment you see them. With Ncuti I didn't get that feeling and it's the first time that happened. Even the Fugitive Doctor was The Doctor (would love to see a spinoff about her btw). And he seems more like a sidekick than the lead. The sonic screwdriver which is the Doctor's trademark much like the Tardis is, is unrecognizable and horrible. It's good they didn't repaint the Tardis as well. I will probably tune in to see a few episodes coming our way, but judging by the promo of the new season, it looks like it won't get better.
P.S. Why does the emoji "Woman facepalming" automatically change to "Person facepalming"?
I've honestly experienced vicarious embarrassment while watching this. They copied the first episode of Miranda almost word for word, even used the 'Orlando and Bloom' joke, but failed to deliver it. The acting feels forced and quite bad which is disappointing because Mayim is a good actress, but I guess she's just not right for this role (I don't know if there's anyone at all that could carry this US version). Her interaction with the audience seems awkward as well like she was just explaining her actions to us and I didn't feel connected to her. I have seen the second episode as well and it did not get better. Their own jokes aren't funny and the laugh track just makes it worse because there's really nothing to be laughing about. I might force myself to watch the rest just to see whether it would improve, but based on the first two episodes that's probably unlikely to happen.
They should have never tried to remake Miranda, that show is unique and utterly hilarious thanks to the performance of the brilliant Miranda Hart. So, all of you who might not have seen it yet, just do yourself a favor and go watch Miranda instead, it's infinitely better.
