Apple had the courage to compare this to some of the well established animated TV shows in the push notification they used to advertise it. While those are comedy shows, Central Park is not one. It’s a musical and a bland one at best.
Was it the best movie I’ve seen in the world? No. Best movie of an awful year of lockdowns and generally poor productions? Still no.
But does it deserve a 3.5 star rating on IMDb? Hell no!
I love Octavia Spencer and Melissa McCarthy but never seen them act together and never realised they were actual life long friends! Jason Bateman was typically amusing too.
I enjoyed this movie for what it was. It was cheesy, lighthearted and generally a bit of fun.
Good end to the season that was.
i like the message in this movie, but don't people know bisexuality is a thing that exists?
7/10
Oh my days! That was a brutal and sad episode! I knew Doris was gonna end up taking the pill and I knew she wouldn't have the talent to join her husband and daughter. But how horrible was her daughter Alma coercing her into taking the pill, knowing what it was likely to do? I think though that next week we're gonna see things go bad for the rest of the Gardner family. If I'm right, I'm not gonna feel too bad for them. I just hope the baby ends up being ok.
I also really enjoyed the storyline with Karen and Mickey. That was sad as Mickey obviously has genuine feeling for Karen but he's so wrapped up in his new found success that he's ignoring the fact that she doesn't want a part of that. And for good reason! Very sad ending to their story on the beach at the end but I saw that coming given Karen's feelings on the pill and what it does.
My favourite episode so far this season.
That was satisfying!!
Brilliant use of every single thing ever created by the MCU, We are The Watchers and We loved it!!!
Don’t forget to watch the small post credit scene!...
A good final episode, but really hard to take the fight with Ultron seriously. He had all the stones but didn't even really use them? He literally has the power to just stop/reverse time. He's an insanely smart AI, yet somehow he doesn't even think to create some sort of timeloop like Strange has in the past? That's literally just one of the stones, he had all of them! Seems really absurd that this team were able to do anything at all to Ultron, especially considering that the Watcher couldn't even beat him.
This was a great take on a dark past, bringing comedy and satire to the forefront, and I absolutely loved it! While being comedic, there are many emotional parts to the film, which I was rather surprised to see. One moment you're laughing hard, the next you're on the edge of balling your eyes out. I never would have expected to see a film quite like this done on Nazi Germany, it was very well made.
With this being Roman's first-ever professional acting job, I was incredibly impressed - he is awesome, and I certainly look forward to his next project(s). He was able to capture the rollercoaster of emotions, thoughts and feelings that may be going through a child growing up in Nazi Germany—who is being told who is okay and who is not—with ease. Taika never fails to please me with his work, and Stephen is a very funny actor. The way that Hitler was mocked through Taika really adds into the thought that not everyone is as strong as they are said to be. Thomasin brings in lots of emotion, and Roman just blows the film out of the park.
Seeing it for my 7th time, I think I'd probably upgrade this from one of the best films of 2019 to one of the best films of the decade.
I shall certainly be seeing this several more times, and I definitely recommend it.
I wish I could slow it down, I find myself asking, what did she just say. Not understanding the fast paced, everything is so exciting or end of the world pace of this doctor. Wondering what happened to the moon and the sun?
Fun but it starts out better than it ends. The cast is perfect through-out though. Samara Weaving gives a fine wtf is going on performance while being pretty badass at the same time.
You might be disappointed if you were hoping for family members killed one by one sort of movie though. I expected the movie to be more like You’re Next for example.
I'm not gonna lie. I laughed my ass off during 22 Jump Street (and so did the entire theater). While it might not have been as fresh as the first one, I enjoyed that the movie completely embraced the fact that it was a blatant money-making sequel and it made the movie all the better (essentially the complete opposite of how The Hangover/Crapover 2 handled it). It actually became quite a bit of the running joke and I nearly died during the credits. Hill and Tatum still have that amazing chemistry in this movie that we remember from the original and shared some pretty close and intense moments in their brolationship. This movie posed very real and deep questions that made me question my own bromosexuality and I loved every second of it. Definitely check this out if you enjoyed the first or love comedy.
All I wanted for Christmas was for Hawkeye to make it home.
Wow, this was actually a very good Episode.
Good Writing and Aisling Bea (Sarah) is just amazing.
Kind of sad, that Chibnail is only lowering his virtue signaling crap now that he is basically already out the door...
A comedy should be judged by if you laugh. A horror movie should be judged by if it is frightening. If this movie was judged by its ability to put an audience to sleep, it would be great. It's a horror movie, though, so a fail. I'm not saying I saw the end coming, but all the characters acted like they were just serving the plot instead of being actual people. Toni Collette's performance (or was it the script?) was incredibly uneven as she moved from unaffected to completely traumatized...sometimes within the same sequence. I actually liked the final story reveal and it was certainly built throughout. The problem is it took forever to get there and I hated every character so much, I couldn't care less if they lived or died. Garbage that every critic wanted to use "heightened" in a review will be lining up to kiss its ass. Here's the thing...my theater was full and never even a gasp. Did hear one dude snoring, though. See at your own risk.
Macabre to the core, what starts as a jovial evening with past friends quickly becomes a bleak yet almost too relevant look at the world in catastrophe. Not what I expected, and really enjoyed the slow reveal of what was truly happening. Some of the messages here will probably be interpreted differently now after everything that has happened in the real world, but as a dark drama comedy, this is a hit.
The real question is why the hell did the guy charge money for snacks at the white house?
The movie might be showing its age, or maybe I'm showing mine. The structure just felt off. The pacing was much too slow until the last quarter. There's something grating about Maverick's character—there's supposed to be, but I couldn't really find anything to like about him. And of course the romance is entirely unnecessary, but that's been a Hollywood problem since long before this movie (and still is).
Finally, this episode solidified my understanding of the mythology. It's taken this long but the exposition cram sessions provided by this and the previous episode ("Two Fathers") finally set things straight for me. Not the most entertaining episode, but definitely critical to understanding the mess of details associated with the previous seasons.
Secondary characters in this episode: Kersh, CSM, Agent Spender, Diana, Krycek, Bill Mulder, Lone Gunmen, Syndicate, Cassandra, Marita Covarrubius
haha a lotta dog jokes and puns here; but more importantly, 1999 was just the time when online dating or meeting someone from the internet grew, so it's nice that they incorporated that into the show
This is episode he got back his "I want to believe!" Poster.
"dear diary: today my heart leapt when agent scully suggested spontaneous human combustion"
A bit more background on Mulder's past, so that was good... but the episode overall was a bit boring
Scully: "What else do you want to do or find?"
Mulder: "My sister."
PHRASING!
This must've been the premise for what would become the 2012 movie, Chronicle. I would also assume that the bullet scene was inspired by the popularity of The Matrix earlier that year, 1999.
One of my favorite episodes! I absolutely loved the fact that this probably aired on FOX while COPS was also on the air. I loved the idea that some people might have actually taken it seriously as a COPS episode due to the intro being basically identical to the actual cop show.
I'm a bit on the fence here about the "new" X-Files. But I do like Dogget!
man, Ray Pearce is a really unfortunate name.
Clearly Scully hasn't learned anything. So there is a conspiracy of doctors to hide alien babies. Where do you seek refuge? From the Army, that it's IN from the beginning? That has secret alien planes and hides aliens? Yep good idea, they will for sure help you!
A very X-Files episode! It really digs into the true mythology of the show.
I loved seeing Mulder really standing up for his beliefs!
I'm very intrigued by Deep Throat
