The show that spawned the pop star craze for Hannah Montana makes a strong debut here in season 1. Every episode manages to hide a moral or some kind of life lesson for kids somewhere in the fun. The cast seems to genuinely enjoy making the show and there are many great guest stars -- Vicki Lawrence appears as Hannah's Mamaw and Dolly Parton as herself/Aunt Dolly. Season 1 shows a lot more concert footage than the other two and sometimes it feels like its just a space filler but never overbearing. The other two minor plusses are Oliver's hair hasn't grown to the ridiculous shag it becomes in the later seasons and you get minimal Rico. Episode 24 The Idol Side of Me is guest directed by Fred Savage of Wonder Years fame and isn't the only instance of the show mixing in reality TV as Jackson also makes a mockery of Survivor. Enjoy!
These types of shows were much more entertaining when the enemy was the Russians. That's how Tom Clancy wrote the character anyway. Also I think I saw this show already. It was called Homeland.

Whoah. Carla from Scrubs is really mean in this one.
Loved this episode. The whole tribute to the show "Firefly" at the beginning was outstanding.
After 8 years in the US Navy on submarines I knew I was going to have problems with the movie on a technical level. The sixty degree down angle ordered is ridiculously ridiculous. Remember when they ordered a 30 degree down when they were diving the first time and everyone stood at an angle without falling over? Why weren’t things crazy at 60 down bubble?
Anyway my major need is this: Why is an English actor(Oldman) playing the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and a Scotsman(Butler) playing a CO of a submarine? Were all the American actors busy?
All complaining aside this was still really entertaining.
Kate looked pretty good as a cowgirl dressed in black.
Great Episode. Batman and Joker surfing. Getting to see Batgirl in a swimsuit. Nice. Two way hot dog radios. Bat copter. Also of note is Batman and Robin both use the word Cowabunga many years before the ninja turtles.
I can’t believe she missed that final. I would have figured she knew the 10 most populous countries cold. Then pick the one that ends in H.
A much better episode compared to the season premiere. The origin story for Gibbs/Ducky was well done. Even 40 years ago they were able to nudge each other in the right direction with life choices when Gibbs leads Ducky down the ME career path and Ducky was able to convince Leroy to not give up on the love of his life.
The crime part of the episode is still not strong. Without the ties to the forty years old case the entire current break-in at NCIS would have been completely lame.
A renewed interest in the English monarch has been triggered by The Crown on Netflix. I'm just not sure this movie was worth my time. It takes a lot of liberties with actual history. It definitely makes the religious war of post Henry VIII rule look like only the Catholics were crazy. The best part of the movie is future James Bond Daniel Craig playing an assassin priest. Quite the foreshadowing.
A classic
The beginnings of the story are well told here in episode 1 of Ultraman. When Hyata of the Science Patrol is mortally wounded in a collision with Ultraman, the silver hero feels obligated to save his life in a very 1960's dreamy sequence that was beyond cheesy. Ultraman explains to Hyata why he has given him these abilities and the limitations that come with it. Also featuring the sweet science patrol S-16(?) submarine scene with Hyata firing torpedo after torpedo into our rubber suited opponent Bemular before being forced to use the beta capsule to become Ultraman and save the day.
All in all, this show is outstanding considering the time frame and dubbing required. One of the coolest heroes of all time.
A bit of a goof. When Batman is calculating the trajectory of the bullet Catwoman shot as a clue into Commissioner Gordan's office he says the wind speed is six knots per hour. The unit of knot means nautical miles/hour. So Batman turned it into acceleration as units of 6 miles per hour per hour.
This was one of the worst episodes so far. Did not hold my interest. Jack going to the jail - stupid.
Journey. Def Leppard. REO Speedwagon. Ozzy. The 80’s. The best.
If I ever traveled to Avatar world, I would invent arrow proof cockpit glass for the helicopters and become rich.
A fitting episode as a farewell to Ducky. Not overly unnecessarily sappy but had the right amount of nostalgia and flashbacks. Nice touch either way with Tony showing up for the funeral but a little surprised that more cast from the past didn’t show.
This is possibly the lamest crossover ever. There was so little I'm not even sure why they advertised it.
Bowie Jane is so lame. Six people left and that’s who you nominate? With a chance at a free back door. Repeat: LAME
They haven’t showered, changed clothes, or brushed their teeth since last season. And they sweat continuously. Something stinks.
Liam Neeson is 68 years old. And just got out of the military 9 years ago in this movie? And fell out of a second story. And I have already seen this movie. If it were titled Reverse Taken.
So little excitement for the first ever triple eviction. For all stars they sure are boring. Every single move has been predictable.
My wife and I really enjoyed this first installment. Not because it is a good show. More of a Fifty Shades of Grey lets make fun of it the whole time type of fun. The scene where John B is first threatened with foster care was so bad. He looks five years older than the social worker there to protect him. Dude is 27 years old in real life. Nice casting.
The bullying is out of control. The H8ful eight are the biggest group of bullies I've seen on this show. The girls all love Jack the Aquaman but he is the ringleader of disrespect. Nicole did not deserve to be treated like this.
Well the game just got 64% less interesting without Cam in the house.
I really can not stand Hisam.
Not quite what I was expecting. The backdrop of World War I to do some The Matrix/Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon stunts was some serious juxtaposition. There was history but this was a lot of fluffed up action, which wasn't always done really well. Some of the scenes involving the goat laden mountain top area just didn't work, specifically the parachute jump. Absolutely ridiculous. The special effects used a little bit after that where characters were being suspended off the side of the mountain looked terrible on the big screen of the movie theatre. We are talking Darth Maul falling to his cut in half death in The Phantom Menace.
Last big problem was making Woodrow Wilson into a Great War era Bill Clinton getting caught in sexual misadventures in the White House. COME ON!
The easter egg in the closing credits with a smirking Adolph Hitler makes you think there is more of these to come. I hope they improve on them a little bit.
You call that a big move Meow Meow?
This was much better than I was expecting. Not a classic by any stretch but you have to like Topher's character.
Teri Hatcher is amazing in this episode. The Kramer bit with Salman Rushdie was a little weird but it was 20+ years ago.
