I really don't know what to think of this. It's one of the few programs I have ever seen that mentions the infamous HH Holmes. But if feels like rubbish. I't feels like a visual podcast, with all the semi dramatic pauses and music, and an awful lot of padding to stretch it out. And still leaves that question of "how true is this really"?
Only one word could possibly describe this show:
"AMAZING"
Greatest anime of all-time. ALL-TIME.
Abso-freakin-lutly LOVE this show! One of my FAVORITE medical Dramas yet! Even better than some of the other great Medical Dramas of the past, such as shows like House, or ER, even better than Grey's Anatomy! ABSOLUTE MUST SEE SHOW! (think CSI of Medical Dramas, so intense u feel like ur actually there learning how to treat patients)
Awesome! I'm a big fan of the show. I think they did a phenomenal job with the casting. I wasn't a fan of the introduction of Jackson, but he eventually grew on me.
I would have an one nightstand with Caity Lotz/Black Canary and marry Maisie Richardson/ Vixen. She is fine as fuck!!!
A show where nothing really happens and everyone is so annoying and self-obsessed but, somehow, you can't help but feel compelled to watch the next episode because you want to know what's (not) going to happen next.
I didn't think I would like this but I gave it a shot and just couldn't stop watching it until I finished the first season. I like the different eras and personalities they meet as well as the fashion. Not too sure about the larger story line but it has potential and I would gladly watch more.
Rufus' character was a bit hard to watch, not sure if intentional but either way I was not a fan and don't see that changing.
also find the constant shifting of languages jarring but I'm gonna give it another try. About to watch episode 2.
Horrible! Subtitled for dialogue that isn't English and British actors speak their scripts in English. It's too much work to casually watch. I watched the first episode and loved the plot, but don't look away from the screen or you could miss something vital to the story.
Come on guys... no comments on this?
The rating is bad... should I give it a try? Help me out community <3
I actually grew up reading the original book series in 1993 and loved every single one. Reminded me why I had loved History so much. So when they made a TV series and I accidently stumbled across this on BBC (I was a father by then of course) I enjoyed it, the songs are catchy and kids know them as there based on recent releases, the episodes are fun and in this day and age, this really helps childern learn about histroy in a fun-fact filled way. With the 6th series now on CBBC in the UK, theres plenty more to Horrible Histories to learn.
This is a really well-done show. I am not a big fan of German cinema, but this is a great entry! Despite not being rich in action each episode is interesting and keeps me watching.
Einfach Super!
If you believe that women emerge from cryosleep chambers in full hair & makeup after 22 years of hibernated space travel, this show is for you.
The movie hypnotized me in my late teens... thought it was the best film ever made. I rewatched it just before the HBO series started and wondered just how many bong hits I'd taken before watching it the first time around.
The HBO version is great, but very slow moving. Events from the season finale should've unfolded by at least the 3rd episode. During the final 2 episodes there was a lot of explaining going on, and some good action sequences -- but I wish the explaining had taken place much sooner -- characters engaged in lengthy talking-head explanatory scenes seemed forced, more like a recital than watching a story. I was never a fan of the series "Lost", but I think this method of storytelling should appeal to those that were.
In the movie, the android's eyes lit up indicating a malfunction, then the amusement park went crazy. With the series, no eyes light up and instead there's a gradual buildup as to what was happening behind-the-eyes. It's so gradual though that I would've enjoyed the series more if I'd binged it -- a week at a time of snail-paced plotting can be frustrating. It's good, but lacks the pacing that made the original movie so engaging.
Medieval World and Roman World -- with 'spy' androids to integrate the subplots would've been great -- but those worlds have disappeared from the story -- likely it might have been too expensive to produce. Unfortunate, as it would've helped with pacing. As it's been renewed for a 2nd season, I'm wondering if those worlds might be worked in. Slow pacing or not, I'll be watching as many seasons as they put out... ;-)
New York City prima ballerinas moonlight at a upscale Russian mafia stripclub... of course they do, it's Starz.
If you're looking for dramatized insight into the ballet biz -- this isn't it. If you're looking for a prime time soap layered with a ballet backdrop and 'because-we-can' cableTV sex & nudity, welcome to heaven... ;-)
Travelers" starts out avoiding the normal time-travel series plot holes by not showing the future world being manipulated -- skipping the usual dual-timeline clichés. While the future is referenced, and communicated with, it remains unseen and lets the viewer concentrate on the present, until the last couple episodes when things go a little haywire and “Travelers” becomes an example of why it's difficult to prolong a series about time travel.
Season 1 doesn't have any sort of resolution, ending with a cliffhanger to setup a never ending story. The method of time travel isn't the best, lends itself to plot holes. The season finale seems like one ginormous plot hole. Some episodes are better than others, the acting is OK for a story going nowhere... Seems very much like a SyFy Network type series.
This show is very '90s Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Ash vs Evil Dead with a touch of Todd vs the book of evil

i think it was 5 years ago when i finished reading this series. i was 12 and i think i was reading the books for quite a while and honestly, after all these years, i cant possibly be any happier with the outcome. this show has done the books justice so far. its like im reliving my childhood.
its funny, complicated, exciting and one of the best mysteries out there. if you havent read the books, i really suggest them. ive read a lot of famous mystery novels and nothing beats how connected and well built this series is.
the acting was amazing, the few musics of the show were great, there are some real stars here like neil patrick harris who forever owns my heart, and the mystery of lemony snicket and beatrice feels exactly as perfect as it felt in the books. what a solid show 10/10
Maybe it's time to leave gracefully, this has gone on too long, out of ideas.
I'm really enjoying this show.
It's not bad at all! Worth watching! I expected something much more boring and cliche, but it's almost as good as King of Queens. I'm actually glad that Kevin returned to making TV Shows. This thing suits him the best, not the Adam Sandler family holiday garbage movies.
This show is OK. A lot of likable characters and some funny scenes. I hope Netflix can take this series to the next level.
Odette Annable.
Genius doctor who only treats medical mysteries.
The only thing missing is some pain medication. Maybe our pure genius protagonist gets shot at the end of season 2... or maybe at the end of the second episode. Maybe in the arm.
Terrible, just... terrible. Who on Earth thought this was a good idea?!
I can see why they're pacing the series, why new characters are necessary, newer villains, etc. but it's not intriguing. it's lifeless. The show could have an episode dealing with paper cuts and having to find toilet paper over 35 minutes, fans would still watch it with anticipation.
I can see the writers and directors trying to replay /recycle new antiheroes and heroes learning the ropes, facing enemies, but it's just not fun to watch Noah Bennett run around doing his thing.
It should be, it fails to live up to the hype because they're afraid of delivering too much too early. When Noah isn't on screen, the show fails to be interesting.
There's no charismatic personalities other than maybe luke/zachary (unrecognisable as chuck, or johnny flame), and even more rarely miko/kiki (katana girl) is emotive or likeable beyond the wooden, stereotyped doll caricature. There's no tension or loss, no risk, no reward, and there's no confluence of ordinary characters with abilities. Hiro and Claire, and later, Sylar, were iconic because they were normal, with abilities. Not so much with the new class.
The show's desperately trying to get the audience to like ... someone, but there's too much mary sue, nobody has failed in a big way, and the season arc is disconnected from the plot in a massive way, there's no fatality or risk in the deus ex machina, already depicted in the poster (avoiding spoilers)
The ensemble cast are "good", but this would get better if it did not exist in the same story as Heroes, it's significantly weaker and less enjoyable as a result of being dragged around by the coattails of the original ensemble of Heroes, that haven't shown up but keep getting name-dropped every few minutes.
This could change, but the show should be so much better or even possibly darker than it is.
This was actually a really good show. A great homage to those campy teen horror flicks. Takes like 1-2 episodes to warm up but well worth it.
I've heard some called the 1st episode "slow".
Well, maybe - I found it delightfully entertaining and in the tradition of good espionage series, found it more cerebral than most American espionage shite on TV in recent memory. I'm thinking of you "24". I find myself eagerly anticipating each episode.
Take what you will from this review, but I'm given the series a "9"!
After choosing to end King of Queens in 2007 to make Adam Sandler crap. Kevin James tries to go back to exactly where he left off on television. By playing the same character again pretty much.
Except despite him being funny, the story is lazy and cliche.
I'm skeptical about Bull's renewal potential ..
