KyoAni strikes again. They've created a beautiful and immersive fantasy world based upon the hunting of "dreamshades" that really pulls the viewer in and almost makes it seem like all these things are possible. This is a bit of a darker anime compared to what we are used to from KyoAni (thankfully with a lack of half-naked gay swimmers) but they still manage to instill their patented charm and humor into it all. The animation, art and music (love the soundtrack) are top notch as with all KyoAni productions. The fight scenes are epic. I honestly love all the main and supporting characters in particular the four main leads (along with Ai-chan) especially with their "megame" (glasses) and "siscon" (little sister) personas. Kyoukai no Kanata may start a bit slow but stick around till about episode 4 for things to really heat up. Now, I can't wait for each week's new episode and what's going to unfold next. Watch it.
The Kyoukai no Kanata movie has been confirmed for Spring 2015. Wooooot woot. I trust that KyoAni will handle this movie well as they've never really exploited the bitch recap method in the past (minus Chuunibyou). Kyoukai no Kanata definitely needed a movie to further explain a lot of the plot holes and lingering questions that were remaining from the end of the show and I think that this will handle things extremely well. My body is ready.

Now, just give me a second season or movie of Hyouka and I can pass on happily.
Denpa Teki na Kanojo is a show that surprised me by how much I enjoyed it. Coming in with just two 40 minute OVAs. I wasn't expecting much but we get a solid intro to our characters and a great thriller mystery during each OVA. Also, I love me some crazy bitches and this show has absolutely no shortage of them. And by crazy, I mean batshit CRAZY. This is a show that absolutely deserves a full season or a few more OVAs.
I really enjoyed this show a lot more than I initially anticipated. It was short, hilarious and knew exactly what it was: an ecchi comedy that was 13 mins long. Still, in that short amount of time, we got some solid moments beyond the comedy (who doesn't love endless jokes about panties?). All the girls/harem were great and Aito served as an awesome, perverted yet innocent MC who doesn't hide his love of panties. If you want a quick laugh with nothing too deep, definitely check this show out.
I love me some Ami and this episode did not disappoint. I liked that we got to see a bit more of her past and what defines her. And still Chibiusa = best Usa.
I didn't knew what to expect about this film and at the beginning I thought that it wouldn't be nothing special but then it started to get interesting.
Scenic Route tells the story of two friends who go on a road trip but their car broke down in the middle of desert with no water and no food. In hey start attacking and offending each other about the decisions that they made for their lifes. In despair they start to get totally crazy.
It's a simple story with a stunning desert setting that can keep you entertained but with some flaws, specially about some actions that the characters take, that in my opinion are little bit ridiculous but who knows maybe that's the point, try to show how a human being literally starts to get crazy in the conditions they both were.
Josh Duhamel didn't totally convinced me yet that he really is a good actor but he did a pretty decent job with this role. Dan Fogler also does a good job.
Not perfect but good, with a cool twist at the end.
Double episode release. Doesn't get any better than that. The second I read the synopsis for this, I had to watch it. Loved the first 2 episodes so far. OP is also absolutely rocking as well.
Nephy is literal diabetes! So sweet and precious. Best girl and no competition even required.
We'll see if this show become like a harem with those other girls, but I would probably prefer it to be straight up as it's pretty wholesome so far (minus the people getting killed :D). We'll see how long the comedy and shtick will work, but it's pretty damn good so far. I need mo...
I just want to make an emphatic statement:
Natsuki >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Miyako
Sayonara, Yamauchi. You worthless loser. Beautiful scene getting his ass kicked out of class. The extra icing on the cake was Manabe joining him on the way out
Nice little ending. They played it safe. Wish that the anime showed more of the "night time" activities like in the manga and light novel especially since it's mostly played off as jokes. I got addicted to the series and read the manga and a good amount of the web novel, so I'd love to see a second season. The expansions with the Villages (and more) really do add new elements into the fray and having the kids around and new characters would be a plus. Getting to all the festivals and everything would be awesome as well. Mostly, I want more Hakuren since she my fave waifu!! Anyway for now, I'll keep reading and just hope a second season comes around.
Okay, I have to concur here. That was an absolutely beautiful ending to this series. And man am I a sucker for these perfect Tsundere arcs.
A bit of a slow burner of an episode here. Mostly seeing MC flashbacking to his cringe actions and misinterpreting all of Chizuru's signals. Seeing Chizuru at the batting cages was mint though. However, next episode looks like it's going to be a riot with Chizuru having "lost her key" and Mami coming over for a "surprise visit"
I actually really enjoyed this sequel. I saw the earlier preview of it last Saturday, and loved the musical numbers in this one even more. I enjoyed all the little arcs each of the characters got and how it was a bit of a different journey than the original. Each of the final musical sets is a great auditory and visual feast especially the final duet. The one thing that I would recommend most of you to do is NOT watch the trailers if you can. They honestly do spoil like 95% of the movie (no joking). Just trust my review instead ;)
Great job on this latest episode. I really liked how they gave a lot of time to flesh out Nanami's background and story this entire episode rather than just spending a couple minutes on it in a quick flashback. It really helped you connect with and feel for her character a lot more along with making Eiko's "eureka" moment more impactful. I'm looking forward to how this season ends for sure now.
It's a "happy" ending for sure, but it seemed a bit lazy that everything that was supposed to happen in the last episode (and before) was essentially retconned in the end. Kind of made the ending feel a little cheap, even though it was still nice. Just my 2 cents.
I had fun with this series without a doubt. I really appreciated that it stuck with its strengths which were the on-point comedy and the cast of colorful characters. They didn't try to make the battles and shounen parts ridiculously over-the-top or dominating here. Rather the studio kept the dialog, engaging situations and out-of-control characters a riot instead. Due to the comedy, it was a really easy watch and I've actually gone back and rewatched some of my favorite episodes and moments in the series along the way just to get some more laughs.
While I'd love a sequel, this definitely seems like one of those one-and-done anime shows. I feel like they left the ending at a good place with the door slightly open. I'm honestly not sure how much more material is available at the moment since I haven't touched the light/web novel, so maybe others can fill me in on the chances of more content.
Greatest end scene image of the series thus far. No competition. LOL.

Not sure what to think about this show. Honestly, most of the parts with just Kumoko are pretty damn boring since it's just her and her monologues about skills. Then when we focus on the other reincarnated humans, we don't really care about them because we were given absolutely no back story or development for them and just thrown into a boring story involving them.
I guess the humans are a bit more interesting but even that's a stretch. And Natsume/Hugo is just a joke. Try to at least make him somewhat realistic and not a complete worthless moron. This episode just showed how much he sucks even more.
I honestly don't know why I keep watching. Maybe hoping for something good to happen...
Yah, I actually really liked how this episode cleared up the whole "Demon Lord" arc. Rather than go with the traditional OP MC going super-saiyan fight, we got a great comedy routine instead which fits this entire series a lot more. Not gonna lie, I really like some of the comedic faces this show has and the splashes of "Engrish" that they throw in for comedy :D
I'm looking forward to more ladies being introduced and how the rest of the story develops from here on out.
Not gonna lie. That's only of the most "action-packed" reunions that I've seen for a reality tv show. There were some legit fireworks and MAD drama during this one.
For once, I actually don't think that Angelina really started that much drama. FOR ONCE. This shit was just brewing since day 1 and just exploded in that epic fight.
This movie encapsulates my favorite saying of "I don't know what it is. But I want it". I have little to no idea what in the world was happening during the movie but I loved it. I'm gonna have to watch this at least 3 more times (and with subtitles) to even figure out what the hell exactly happened.
Best. Shounen. Battle. Ever.
Facts.
This was a good season EXCEPT for that horrific anime original ending. Basically puts a nail in the coffin for a possible 3rd season. At least the manga is still going well and is heading to the final endgame as well. Especially from reading the latest chapter (141), it looks like Uruka will probably be the "winner" in the end like in the anime's ending...
Love the humor and adaptation of this episode as well. LOVED the "slapping" scene with Rosalie. I was waiting for that one. The only thing that disappointed me this episode was the definite drop in animation quality, especially when looking at the characters' faces from further away. Honestly, this seems like a production issue due to a packed schedule and lack of resources (hence the one week that they delayed a previous episode). I hope it gets cleaned up in the BD release because the direction, voice work and other parts of the adaptation have been on point.
Nice...
The return of Mafuyu-sensei in full force, and some solid chapters animated right there with some nice little additions. I can't wait for Miharu to make her appearance soon
On a sadder note, it looks like they probably skipped the beach chapters with Ashumi and Sensei since they showed a tiny little montage of Ashumi last episode. RIP in missing Sensei in a school girl swimsuit...
Edit: Nm. Those chapters are being animated in the upcoming OVA released this winter!
Sick. This anime adaptation is really really well done. I love the improvements made on the light/web novel and manga. It's adding a lot of personality to the original dialog and nice little meme-worthy moments. Can't wait for more!
Also, I think that the anime adaptation can get to a pretty good point in the source material where we actually hit like some really good plot twists and character development with some real serious stuff. Hopefully it all turns out good!
Whoaaaaaah!!! I watched the first episode on a whim and now I am 100% on this train until the very end. This is like Konosuba 2.0 with actually good animation. I absolutely love the animation and especially the facial emotions of Listarte/Lista/Rista that Whitefox have animated so far as they give a definite Studio Trigger vibe. I hope that the quality stays at this pace.
The VA's are absolute gold as well for the MC's. Aki Toyosaki (Yui from K-On) does a fantastic Listarte and Yuuichirou Umehara (Goblin Slayer's Goblin Slayer ) nails the deadpan emotionless comedy as well. I'm really loving the chemistry between the two so far. Hopefully things will continue to progress and stay fresh.
AOTS here we come!!
What a horrible adaptation.
Animations are subpar, CGI is even worse. Character design seems lackluster and the episode jumps all over the place.
They jump right into one of the most defining experiences of the MC and then destroy what little suspension they can build with ridiculous, unconnected flashbacks.
Instant drop for me, I'll stay with the LN...
Sooooooo hyped for Season 2!!! Heard it gets even better from here on...
