Tyler is killing it as superman. But Elizabeth is not working as Lois Lane, she looks the part. But her acting is atrocious. Kids are both decent cast. The actor change irked me. But new cast looks decent. But initially their characters are too much to handle. I like that this focuses on family dynamics rather than superhuman adventures. I expected woke propagandas in season three with all the comments shouting it. But I did not find any wokeness in it. It still deals with the family of a superhero when a life threatening sickness attacks a member. But they dealt with it in a professional manner. But cliffhanger ending of season 3 left a bad taste in my mouth.
This is peak television. Great characters, Excellent plot, World-class dialogues, Masterful action scenes and Brilliant BGM. I can only hope to get more of this. Everything about this screams perfections.
To me, My x-men.
Decent movie with great casting.
This was a bad series. Mediocre characters that devolve as the series progressed. Plot development that stuck on will they/wont they romance. Comically disastrous scenarios one after another that it becomes numb. Main characters with plot armor that will shock Naruto fans. Bad acting all across the board except for Cabe. I don't think this is an intelligent series. I ronically it is a series about high IQ individuals.
Brilliant, action packed and relatable.
Cliche story but excellent execution. It had brilliant comedic timings.
I loved it. Most of the Pearson family are flawed human beings. They strive to be good people but they are flawed nonetheless. The show doesn't try to portray them as perfect beings. Jack who was abused as a child and carries the horrors of Vietnam inside but still tries to be there for his family. And does his best to break the toxic cycle of his family. Rebecca who was from a wealthy family and left all of that for love. Made some bad decisions along the way. After losing her beloved, grief consumed her. But her love persists. Kevin who always felt neglected and desperate for approval. After learning to shove his emotions down for so long that his empathic side rarely comes out. He has the best character development in the story. Randall who always questioned his place in the world. Torn between gratitude and sense of belonging. Kate who used food as her source of love. So sure that she was not worthy of love that she always takes it out on others. All of these characters have flaws but all of them are higly relatable characters. Family dynamic is a huge plus. I liked that about this show.
I really loved they way the story was being told. It is unique that we watch three timelines simultaneously.
Generic romance flick. Mediocre characters and mediocre plot.
stop ending the season with a cliff hanger.
This is a brilliant series. I had no idea what to expect next. Kept me on my toes. I especially liked the team's and his family's dynamic with Vic. Vic is a corrupt cop who is extremely selfish. He does good somethings somtimes, but he is a menace. Lots of complicated characters. Not realistic but enjoyable nonetheless.
The show was an average experience. But it did have fantastic action sequences. But if it didn't try to rip off ATLA, that would have been much better. Her powers actually didn't play that much in the series. Some characters felt bland.
Initial episodes are good. The casting is on point, Especially Mr. D. Way better than the movie adaptation. I hope they don't change much from the books.
Season 2 is shaping up to be even better than season 1. I love it.
Well, seeing the true viltrumites may help Mark gleam some insight into Nolan's action. Great episode.
Brilliant show. I loved this. I wish that netflix didn't cancel thid
This is a mediocre show with shallow characters and an even weaker plot. There are multiple reasons contributing to make this a mediocre show.
1. Nationalism
AMERICA!!!
Why do you have to shove nationalism down our throats when the antagonists are the alien overlords. There is no government or countries remaining after the attack.
2. Characters
Characters are one dimensional. The MC is portrayed as an intellectual specialising in history. When the show starts out they tried to show his intelligence and rational thinking. But as the show progresses he becomes dumb. Plans are horrible. He is impatient and takes unnecessary risks. Other characters are even worse. Most of the characters don't act like they are facing an alien invasion. And the characters have zero development.
3. Plot armor
There is some obvious plot armor to all the major characters. Even with 99% fatality rates, they survive multiple times. Shoddy writing makes the plot armor so obvious. Even with the stupidest plan they face no major deaths and with some lucks they succeed.
4. Plot
Plot is all over the place. The story is about an alien invasion of earth that focuses on US of A. The MC, a history professor is the main attacking force of the whole world. Don't worry he has his 3 sons as his back up. The direction tries to make the MC as masculine as possible, that it comes as a bit odd. The story is messy and feels like a 30 minute episode stretched to 5 seasons.
Such vivid characters and coherent plot. I love it. I loved how the show was able to develop so much characters with out making the MC suffer. The sex education is a progressive show for it's time, but it does it with out being too much. It is a fine line. I never expected the finale to be so brilliant. Everyone got closure. I especially loved Adam's family's story.
The portrayal of central female character was annoying. The character on paper sounds good, a character so deeply traumatised that she has to remind herself she is good all the time. But when translated on to the screen, she came out as whiny self-righteous and selfish teenager with naive world view. Other central characters are decent, not great though. I have yet to finish the first season. I expect some character development.
The world itself is great, as it shares it with The Boys. Powers are excellent. I don't mind the shoving of modern ideologies right in your face. But it did eat into the story.
a nice feel good show. Sad it got cancelled.
This was a live action that does justice to the original. I like the fact that the live action doesn't tries to do "what would the characters do if it was real life" trick and stuck to the original. Characters were cast beautifully. Luffy was perfect so was ussop. The energy the cast brought was enchanting. I liked it.
It is an average show. But the last episode does deliver everything we wished for. Episodes 1-7 are 6/10 and episode 8 is 9/10. I wish the 8th episode was the beginning and the storyi progressed from there.
Main character's other than Jen are distinctive. Jen also has character development, but only a little bit and at the end. Premise is not novel, it has been done in many books. But the characters bring the plot forward.
8/10 characters
4/10 plot
8/10 world
Pros:
Excellent characters(Kurt Bunker is a under utilized. )
Violence
Great interactions with the characters
BGM
Kai is an excellent antagonist
Cons:
Some weak plot points
A lot of the characters with high potential felt under utilized.
Weak 4th season
Rabbit felt subpar as a villain
This is loosely based on formation of england and mainly deals with the conflicts among danes and saxons.
The story revolves around Uhtred of Bebbanburg(Uhtred Ragnarson), Born to saxons but raised by danes. He is deeply conflicted between peace, loyalty, family, revenge and identity. With a headstrong attitude and propensity jump right in to it with out thinking about the consequences, it will not be easy for Uhtred to survive when neither saxons nor danes takes kindly to his existence.
Pros:
Excellent world building.
Multi-dimensional characters.
Headstrong but lovable MC.
Intricate plots.
Nice story telling.
Cons:
MC changes Female interest too often.
Season 4 and 5 are of inferior quality.
Plot armor of the MC is insane.
MC doesn't age.
MC is a bit of a hypocrite.
You know you are doing something horribly wrong when the central character (ginny) is more unlikable than the other central character (georgia, who is deranged, liar and a murderer). I see the need to include modern american culture here, but do they needed to make Ginny that annoying. Teen angst aside, Georgia was her age when she had to raise a child on her own, survive abusive relationships. Sure it did mess her up. But Georgia is a relatable character, her love toward her children knows no bound. Ginny could cut her mother some slack. It does show great foreshadowing.
This is pure gold. Such strong female characters and each with unique personalities. I love this. I like How at the end of the series, they examined the friendship of Anne and Kate. It was such an unexpected examination.
The plot had so much potential. They could have done more. The age does show for this show. The central characters were weak. It would have been better if they had a little depth.
Horror story evolves into a romantic one. It is a good show.
One of the best quirky duo. The main character is so wacky that you can't stop loving him. Show is even more crazy. This show is hilarious as well as complex. Things make more sense as the show progresses. It makes zero sense in the beginning. It is a good show.
Annoying one dimensional female characters. Seriously? So much whining over trivial things. If the timetravel aspect didn't happen in this series, this would have been the worst series I have watched period. But thought the daughter's character improves over time others don't. May be because she got exposed most to the time travel. Central characters need work. But that does leave a lot for development. Plot sounds interesting but it is too soon to say where this is going.
