Technically very good, action scenes were tense. Acting all very believable. But no heart and without that you just don't have a very good film
I enjoyed the film but it totally glosses over how terrible organised criminals are. Morally it's terrible, but entertaining nevertheless
Amazing how dated this looks. I still enjoyed it and will watch more, but I but damn, 2001 was a looooong time ago!
Really enjoyed this. Plenty of action and some great characters. Would certainly be interested in a sequel
This is just plain bad. Cliche after cliche.
A lot of this film makes absolutely no sense. It was still good fun, and a perfect Sunday afternoon sort of film.
But you have to feel that if it was made to day no child would be allowed out in a boat by themselves so it'd be over fairly quickly :)
God awful! Just avoid it.
Apart from the casual sexism I think this is my fav original series episode
I had low expectations. Even they weren't met
So half of this film was starting to get vaguely interesting. But the Sharon Tate storyline should have been dropped and the final scenes made me dislike it intensely.
I get the feeling that Tarantino enjoys making films about Badguys cause then he feels justified about the level of relish and delight he brings to violence. I think it is utterly unwarranted.
Even if the characters are Nazis it isn't about who the actions are being done to, it is about the characters waging the violence with such glee. So glad I didn't go see this in the cinema.
Also Brad Pitt got an Oscar for this! What a joke.
Not great, but not terrible either.
Performances were great. Story was tense. But it was just so shouty and Howard was so intolerable that it didn't engage me at all
Women! Too ruled by emotion to recognise what they need. Only a true Man like Kirk can force them to see the truth.
Hmmm. This has not aged well. I remember really enjoying this beck in the day.
Loved the short story this was based on and three adaptation is pretty good too
Entertaining enough in it's way
Didn't quite pull off the atmosphere it needed but still watchable
Average enough film, although the soundtrack was a bit over the top with its jauntiness
This was not at all what I expected, and I really really liked it
Don't think it. Don't say it.
It being a desire to watch this film because it is utterly rubbish
This is a very strange film. It could have been really good, but then it just goes and does something surreal and off the wall and ruins it all. Elliot is great in it though.
It'd be interesting to see this remade with a more sympathetic version of Barbara, an intelligent woman, full of life but given the times, her only options were marriage and a trapped life.
On second watch this is a bit meh, not scary enough, although a few good jump moments.
I enjoyed it a lot on more my first watch (http://www.susanhatedliterature.net/2017/09/it-based-on-the-book/ ) but it really doesn't reward a second viewing.
I'll still be off to watch the second chapter though.
The fact that I've recently been watching Fry & Laurie means I find it hard to take "Control" seriously. Nevertheless I enjoyed this season.
Dialogue is bit too philosophical and ott at times, and it lost me at some point in the middle, but there are some really great moments in it.
I'm sorry did Spock really say that the reason this serial killer murders women is because women feel more fear than men, and are easier to scare! say what now!
Kept me entertained, but certainly wouldn't be one I'd be rushing to rewatch.
So I've heard that this film got butchered by the studio and boy does it ever show. this film makes no sense. Unless all you want to look at is atmospheric fog, brights lights, dark shadows and goth/bdsm aesthetic. I mean, it is a look I guess... but it isn't really an actual film.
This is where the true insanity begins. I mean I know the others weren't realistic, but the ascent to surreal genius is almost upon us.
I'm not sure I buy the romance at all in this film, and isn't he like old enough to be her father... but it's a nice watch.
