Definitely worth the wait.
The fight scenes, the story. Full of funny moments and emotional ones. All of it chef's kiss. Amazing!!
evil cannot create anything new, they can only corrupt and destroy what is good
Please don't be cancelled please don't be cancelled please don't be cancelled...
I don't care, I like it, I'm watching it.
The combination of extreme realism and violent digital cinematography makes this an otherworldly unsettling experience unlike anything else. I am amazed and disturbed.
As a big Tolkien and Lotr fan i absolutely hate how im not even excited about this.....
This movie goes back to basics and really recaptures the classic spirit of man (or woman in this case) vs Predator.
Amber does a great turn as Naru, a Comanche trying to show that she CAN hunt and ends up in a battle against the almighty predator. The evolution of the story is a well paced and the combat encounters are well planned and satisfying.
Aesthetically the predator is a more raw tribal type than we've seen before but is well put out.
There's a few CGI moments that could have done with a little longer is post but on the whole it's pretty good.
Fun, exciting and a classic Predator tale without all the fluff, much better than what we've seen in recent years.
Also the addition of a dog companion is fun :-) Although we are in a world where every movie likes to show strong women I think this movie framed it very well and the Comanche and time frame were a great choice.
8/10
There is no longer any reason to continue making art. Perfection has been achieved. Best thing since Paddington 2.
In all seriousness, this reminded me a bit of Pig in that Cage isn't remotely as over the top as you'd expect. He has a couple scenes where he leans full into the exaggerated performance we are there to see, but the movie caries itself on a clever, self-aware script that is genuinely fun and with good character arcs. It's not incredibly deep, but I do suspect a lot of this fictional Cage mirrors the experience that the real Cage has lived. That shows, and it was a thrill to watch.
The most accurate Resident Evil yet and no one likes it. It seems they prefer the crappy, shallow action flicks with Milla Jovovich over a genuine Resident Evil recreation.
Spiderman No Way Home - Expected The Unexpected And You Will Still Be Surprised - This Is The Best Yet From Marvel Phase 4 - They Outdid It With Spiderman No Way Home & I Loved All The Characters In It - No Spoilers For Sure But All I Can Say Is Try To Avoid Any Trailers What So Ever And You Will Not Be Disappointed - The Story Was Heartfelt And The Action Was Nonstop From Beginning To End - I Will Watch Again It Was That Good
Stay For The Two Post Credit Scenes - Must Stay To Watch Them - Also Avoid All Trailer If Possible
The Only Part Is Marvel Needs To Start Coming Together Is Marvel's Phase Four Isn't Clear - With The Avengers And Each Avenger They All Came Together But With This It's A Mess But Still This Is The Best Spiderman Movie Yet And By Far The Best Marvel Movie Out Of Phase 4
Pedro Pascal and Nicolas Cage is a friendship I didn’t know I needed in my life. :sparkles:
Such a fun movie, with lots of comedy and laugh out loud moments.
Calling this show stupid is still a compliment in my opinion. Writers needs to understand that people are fan of Tolkien’s work not theirs. Stop doing stupid dialogues and why the hell would you rush Sauron manipulating elves to a single episode. This show needs better writers.
This show is a pleasure for the eyes and a pain for the mind.
Elves act, talk and behave as if they are high, drunk and extremely stupid at the same time.
With their budget it is beyond me why they didn't hire a great writer and storyteller, and a person who can create characters that viewers care about after 1 dialogue. Hollywood has several people like that.
Instead of taking Tolkien material, leave it as is and think how to improve on top of that, AMZN decided to just take the character names, world map and create some random BS script to show off CGI. Well... It's a trend. Wheel of Time did the same thing. Now I pray to all gods that if Hollywood finally will make a TV Show based on Raymond Feist novels - they will ask someone who knows what they're doing...
Blimey, I went in with already low expectations, but "The Rings of Power" falls short of even those & is a train wreck.
It will take an entire day to point out all of the flaws in this abomination. I'm done.
Bezos & Amazon squandered a billion dollars on this mess.
I liked it, it was really over my low expectations, Kristen Stewart it's great, the story feels good, it's short like Every action movie should be. Nothing new, not the best but it's really enjoyable.
This is what Nic's fans have been waiting for. Doesn't get more Cage than this.
Buried somewhere deep there is a good movie here, but the screenwriting, the budget, and pacing absolutely kill it. Many plot holes. This movie suffers from being completely half baked. With some screenwriting talent and some more money this could have been a decent sci-fi thriller, but as it stands this movie was complete garbage.
I grew up with Tolkien's work, I loved the Lord of the rings trilogy and the hobbit was still very enjoyable. And to add, I am from the middle east. I don't really care about diversity, i just want likable characters.
This show..... I despise, the first half of the episode made me feel uncomfortable (Because it is not even close to the source materials.) and disappointed, I would have loved a series talking about the first and second age of middle earth but they aren't even close to telling the proper story.
I stopped watching because I was just THAT uninterested in it. That is a very hard feet to do as i generally watch through episodes before I make my opinion. In this case? It just made me unable to finish the episode and I doubt ill even finish the series.
I highly recommend anyone to actually read the books or just watch the 2 trilogies, as they are far better than the show both in story telling and visuals.
Wow, I'm enjoying this more after each episode.
And that is saying a lot since this one didn't even have my favorite part of last episode (Elrond and Durin) .
I think I'm enjoying each story and the new characters are a nice addition.
Númenor is beautiful.
Also I liked the reference in the first time we heard the name Isildur being like when Elrond calls him in the beginning of the fellowship.
However, for people who are not familiar with this story it might be a bit confusing since they don't explain much.
I think OST is very important in anything and I like that it seems that the composer experience on Outlander and Black Sails can be heard in some of the tracks.
Also, the brutallity of the orcs scenes was unexpected for me so it was quite surprising what happened there in the end for me.
Anyway, hope it keeps getting better.
I didn't expect much from this film and while it won't go into the hall of fame, it was really good.
Was pure action with a little plot but sometimes simple works. If you're looking for a movie that is essentially one long fight scene and love swords then this is for you.
Ok.. let me start by saying, this was a good idea... Really from a scientific point it was a good premises.. Keanu is Keanu.. never bad..
But from that premises.. everything.. and I mean everything goes downhill.. Alice Eve is HORRIBLE! flat like cardboard.. only playing the "pretty blond wife"... the "boss" John Ortiz typical bad boss.. bad character.. FLAT..
The plot if loaded with holes.. I mean seriously it's a gigantic mess..
I can understand him deleting the memories of Zoe in the family.. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF THE WORLD?!?!
The whole Minority Report Interface.. is old.. outdate and simply put.. STUPID!! it makes zero sense.. the CGI is 1990's level.. The spent all the budge on the interface.. and the "robocop" is just.. nasty..
Those who are criticizing the show are unable to look far. They do not enjoy the idea of imagining who, amongst the characters, are the ancestors of Thorin, those of Bilbo, those of Aragorn, Gandalf himself who I am almost certain is the man who fell from heaven. Go back to watch Game of Thrones, that's the show for you.
One episode in, I'm seeing a lot of glaring issues both now and down the line. The unfortunate reality is that Peter Jackson has set the bar for every aspect of filmmaking, extremely high—too high for this to live up to—shining a painfully bright light on flaws that might otherwise have been within tolerance. It's going to be hard to watch this and not long for the quality of even The Hobbit trilogy.
Somewhere between a 6 and a 7 for me. Prey is a very good direct to streaming movie, and even without the Predator franchise attached to it , it's still a successful film. Stripping the tired Predator franchise of all the things that bogged it down, Prey keeps things simple. Primal humans who have to hunt or risk being hunted, up against a technological killing machine who hunts for dominance and sport.
Amber Midthunder is extremely good in the lead role. She's not Arnie, nor is she supposed to be, but she's a great lead who comes off believable and likable. If Prey had have been released in the 80s, Amber's Naru would be up there with the iconic 80s female action stars.
How terrible can a show and script get?
This show: Yes.
the ultimate nail in the coffin
Wish it was a bit longer with more character depth and make it more scarier like the games. But I would watch a sequel!
Back in High School me and buddies played better scripted Resident Evil games in our backyard than this mess. I mean the f... did they do to my boy Leon? other characters also barely recognizable. its bad everything about this movie is a direct insult to the Resident Evil games. Damn even the old movies were better
One-dimensional characters and a predictable story carefully wrapped in some amazing world-building and surprisingly good visual effects. Despite the overall drag of the plot, there's still something quite alluring about the atmosphere presented.
This can be summarized in 3 simple words
WTF!
I promise you, you will not understand anything from start to finish
