They should have stopped after Season 8 the last two were really bad and in my eyes pulled the whole series down a bit. Still up to that point it's a great show and I really enjoied it.
Dallas was a phenomenon at the time that can't be repeated or transformed in our time. The Mother-Soap. Once in a lifetime you should have watched it but skip the infamous Season 9 (if you don't know why you are either very young or completely unaware in the 80s ;-) ). I admit the quality of the show drops to the end but in general it's still a good show.
I'm very interested in the history and strategy of war. I just don't get it why History Channel always has to re-enact everything and use flashy graphics and soundtracks.
The pictures of the wreck are amazing and they reveal what really happened back then. But overall it's too Hollywood for a serious documentation.
I love this show. Don't know if it is scientificly sound like someone mentioned but it gives me a lot to think and discuss about and that's made it worth watching.
Yeah, it's kind of funny, plots are thin and acting isn't that good. There are no supervillans, but hey, we're talking late 70s TV here and I loved this show as a kid. And it's the first live-action Spidey so it's kind of a classic.
This was way better than I thought it would. The animation together with the soundtrack creates a stunning atmosphere. This was so much fun to watch, a shame it didn't last longer.
I think the final season was weak. The plot was constructed just to fit some needs. It had strong moments but they should not have started another arc.
Nevertheless I really liked this show. Has a bit of everything, Action, drama, lovestory, fun.
It's a bit like Thomas Magnum, Jack Bauer and a bit of McGyver.
Some episodes are entertaining but all in all this is not very scientific. it relies a lot on when and ifs. A lot of the time its just: this is what we would do. But they are not telling how it would actually be done
Boring. Loosely cut together crap with little content in poor VHS quality.
Even as a longttime NASCAR fan I could not stand to watch this.
If you already know the NASA History you will find nothing new. But the picture material that is used in this documentation is awesome and the quality is stunning.
Therefore I highly recommend watching this if you're interested in this subject.
Even after 14 years and about 300 episodes I'm still loving this show.
This came out of the dark for me I had no Idea this was in production. And I'm a Star Trek Fan.
The positives: the quality of the sets, costumes and even the CGI is pretty good. Overall this looks very professional and it feels right. The script of the first episode was good, too.
The only negativ I have so far is the cast. I've seen other fan made Star Trek productions so it's not the fact that these aren't the original actors. I just feel they made the characters appear very two dimensional. But since is only the first episode maybe they will grow after all it's pretty tough to fill these shoes.
So, I hope there will be more 'cause as a Star Trek fan in the past it was like being an addict without a suply. Therefore it's always nice to see new Trek.
Supplement Sep 9, 2016:
This show has become absolutely fantastic, more than I´d ever hoped for. It feels totally Trek with the music, sound effects, the sets and costumes. And I have to change my early assessment of the actors - they really bring this characters back to life. The scripts have depth and are meaningful. For me this is as much part of the Star Trek universe as are the official shows. I´m always eager to see what the next episode will bring and I hope they will do a lot more.
I've had a hard time with this show. During the first season I was tempted several times to quit because it wasn't what I expected. When it became what I expected it was gone for good.
What's left is another really good show that had to suffer the ratings dictate because this wasn't the easy entertainment most people are looking for today. This was tough, it showed people in a desperate time doing desperate things and being able to do something they never thought being capable. And when the show ended there where infinite story possibilities.
Exceptionell cast that brings some great emotional character moments. Would have loved to see more of it. Have to rate it as it is, though. That's why I only gave it 7. But had potential to become 9.
I mainly started watching this because of Gilian because I hadn't seen anything from her in a while. She didn't dissapoint me.
As for "The Fall" itself. Well, it's not bad just nothing special either. Yes, it is slow and I think they could have easily done it in a two hour movie format. There are often longer pauses in the dialogue and the camera moves slowly too. So, if you like fast pace and lots of action this is surely not your thing.
I'm not sure if I will watch the second season, a lot will depend on how the first episodes will play out.
By todays standards it might look naive but this was a groundbraking series at it's time. If you only know the remake take the time to watch this. It's worth it.
Whatever you do, do NOT watch the movies (Specials). They are basically put together from parts of the series.
The first is a shortened Version of the three-part "Saga of a Star World" which starts the show. The second is made of parts from "The Living Legend" and "Fire in Space" which are put together rather clumsy and in a different order, in the end telling a different story through large parts.
Yes, this has no Hollywood-like CGI, then again it didn't had a Hollywood budget. But it's fun too see some of the old Star Trek cast again.
Feels a bit like Dallas or Denver Clan only a couple hundred years back. I don`t mind the fact that it´s not historical sound because it never claimed to be in the first place. It´s good entertainment.
One thing that is a bit disturbing production wise is that while some people in the series are getting older quite normal (especially the children), which suggest the time that has passed, it is not reflected in the appearance of the main characters as much.
I´ve seen better ones cancelled.
Don´t remember much of the details from the original so I´m not comparing. This one started good but got pretty much two-dimensional very fast. CGI look really bad always felt like people were standing on top of sets rather than in it. Story had potential, yes, but the uninspired pulled it south.
This is how Overhaulin used to be in the early seasons. Bringing back cars for people who REALLY deserve it. Love it.
had it´s moments.
First two seasons had too much Desperate Housewives for my taste. Thrid season started good than got hit by the writers strike which hurt it badly I think. Fourth season was the best and showed potential for a fith which didn`t come. Therefore I think the Finale left a lot open.
Alltogether not a waste of time watching it but not a show I would want to watch again at a later point.
Took me a couple of episodes to get into it. Finished first season now and really like it.
Not comperable to any US sitcom, this is british which you either like or you don´t.
The "guesstars", although only having very few scenes in every episode, are kind of self-mocking (hope it`s the right term) which is cool.
And I really think Ashley Jensen, who plays Maggie, is awesome in her role.
Give it a try.
If you like North American Hockey you may or may not like Don Cherry.
If you like Don Cherry you should whatch this. It tells his Story roughly from childhood until becoming a commentator on CBC.
He always is true to himself, and that´s what I respect him for.
Greatly played by Keeso.
I hope there will be more. Although it has not the level as the TV Series had it still looks promising and has lots of potential. After all so far it has only been roughly 100 min.
But I too fear this will die before it can grow. If you look what kind of shows do have success right now this seems pre-destined to fail.
Pity, there isn´t any good scifi on TV at all.
