Poor whale man.... wish there were more episodes. I knew storm front was a bitch but I didn’t expect her to be as evil as homelander, woah.
Jesus Christ!! That last minute :joy:. Just.... holy sh*t. Great episode.
I.F.T. - after watching the episode, I now know what this means. LOL.
I'm a simple girl. If a show has anything to do with superheroes, if it's in any way connected to Marvel or DC, there's a good chance I'll watch it. And I'll probably love it, whether it's dark and gritty like Jessica Jones or charming and family-friendly like Supergirl. Legion is no exception to the rule.
I'm not a comic book reader. I didn't know the first thing about the character when I started the episode, and I had no idea what to expect. Having just finished it, I think I can safely say that this show is unlike anything I've watched before. In a good way. I enjoyed every second of the pilot. The cinematography is spectacular. The bright colors, the flashing lights, almost horror-like moments, blurring the lines between reality and David's delusions, scenes of people dancing - because why not?, seemingly random shots and flashbacks, and the general insanity all create a completely unique atmosphere. It's almost hypnotizing, making it impossible for you to look away, drawing you in. The plot isn't the most revolutionary, but the way the show is shot and edited still makes it feel fresh and original. I like the characters and I'm excited to see what will happen next.
Having past events pressure down on Homelander, to his increasingly strained psyche, makes for the strongest start of a season yet. Starr's terrifyingly cracked performance over the course of these two episodes is something else.
What is Iceman doing with pyro's powers? Haha
Too many diehards giving their "critical" review after being butthurt it doesn't exactly match their expectations. Take their reviews with a grain of salt.
If you go into the show and just ENJOY it for everything it offers, then you will not be disappointed. I've already fallen in love with the characters and the amazing scenery. The acting is on par and the budget is as expected for Amazon!
The only complaint I have is that the orc seemed a bit OP, like fr they didn't seem that strong from the movies, but I digress. Overall, I am thoroughly impressed so far and can't wait to see where it goes!
I'm seeing a lot of hate towards Skyler here and I just want to know: what exactly would you have done differently in her situation?
If the IRS begins a serious investigation about Ted, it wouldn't take them long to find out that the woman who cooked his books is now running a business that she bought with undeclared money. If Ted goes down, everybody else goes down with him. Skyler didn't ask to be in the situation she's in, and yet, she's the only person that is actually thinking about the consequences of Ted and Walt's actions in the long term and trying to save both their asses in the process.
Stormfront is all about female empowerment but also a sadistic racist? Damn. This show really isn't afraid of anything and I love it xD Can't wait for the moment she gets killed by Kimiko.
Please don't be a piece of crap cash grab, please don't be a piece of crap cash grab....
I don't do drugs, but after watching this episode, I'm not so sure anymore.
I did not expect to like this one as much as I did! While I would say that the bucket for vampire movies is getting too crowded, I will certainly not fault an entertaining one for this!
The characters are rather quirky and it's shot mockumentary style (like The Office) which might be off-putting for some but you have at least give them credit for going through a variety of jokes here! Oh, and let's not forget Stu! Everyone loves Stu!
The classic teenage slasher. I will never get tired of this movie.
As Butcher would say, “Fuckin Diabolical!”
Even Homelander was clueless when everyone started exploding haha
YES!!!! So glad Chris is gone. The actor and character were both terrible.
This show feels great already. Love the fast-pace of it all. Doesn't waste time getting into characters, it just lets them be and gives you what you need from there. I felt like I was in the kitchen.
This is the most I've cared about the human story in any transformers. It has a lot of heart and is quite funny too. The music is fantastic and it never lets you forget you are in the 80s. Hailee Steinfeld is great and John Cena does what he does best. The action isn't too over the top. There are definitely the way too much CGI parts but those are few and far between. I would like to see more prequel stories with new people every time without Michael Bay.
I got to say that I have not been mind fucked by a movie like that in such a long time..
It is the kind of movie that mid way you would say "I do not understand anything", and by the end of the movie you would say.. "Fucking Hell, Now I get it. I Wish I didn't but I do"
I am just scared from the way that they keep upping the plot twists and endings of movies that at some point in time you would be watching a movie and then you would realize that it has all been a trick and that you are actually not watching a movie at all..
Another thing that below me away through out the movie was the performance of Sarah Snook. While still not over her creepy performance in Jessabelle. She really took me by surprise with her performance.. I have not seen before someone who can say so much with just their eyes.. I can tell that the 28 year old Aussie is going places after this..
On Rotten Tomatoes, The film has a "certified fresh" score of 82% based on 71 reviews with an average rating of 6.8 out of 10.
The critical consensus states "Fun genre fare with uncommon intelligence, Predestination serves as a better-than-average sci-fi adventure and offers a starmaking turn from Sarah Snook."
On Metacritic The film also has a score of 68 out of 100 based on 22 critics, indicating "generally favourable reviews"
If you are ready to be mind blown all the way, watch it but make sure to not miss anything cause it will add to the inevitable sense of "What the fuck was that? that you already going to get when you watch it attentively.
Gus died like The pink teddy bear.
Mia Goth’s monologue in the third act is chilling, absolutely chilling in a way that’s both vulnerable and eerie. Between this, X, and the upcoming MaXXXine I think it’s safe to say Goth is already a horror icon.
I expected something totally different when I went in to this movie and it topped everything. This was hilarious. Comedy horror done right! Love the cast, they brought the fun, the kid is great. Netflix seems to rock this genre, great movie!
lmao i like the Ed Norton recast joke
I see you shiver with antici......................pation
For any non-french speakers out there: at the very beginning of the episode, when The Boys are all back together in the new office, at some point Frenchie calls Butcher "Mr. Charcutier".
The joke being that in French, a "butcher" is called a "charcutier".
Those were some gross scenes for sure. But that's what this show's been doing and I'm glad they didn't tune it down.
Anthony Starr is amazing. How he switches from one expression to another within a heartbeat and scare the shit out of you. But I think ultimately Homelander has to be gone by seasons end. You can't keep this plot up forever.
A nice start.
Great to hear familiar names and to see this very familiar land.
It seems to be a slow start, but one I appreciate it, I myself need to know the characters, care about them, before I acctually care about the plot.
I do think they choose to do too many places and characters and we didn't even see them all yet. But I am interested. Hope they can all be linked together in a satisfying way.
But I do miss the long haired elves.
Also, OST is great, as I expected from this composer.
That was wayyyy too short! 20 Minutes? Seriously Disney?
