I've read the entire comic and this episode had me in tears at many points. This is the best show I've ever seen in my life.

@thechocolatefinger To enjoy their discomfort at seemingly being put in a position in which they have to take the deal.
Pretty good episode... until the last minute. WTF was that? Shouting that she'll kill the guy who's been helping her this whole time? Kinda cringe, and didn't make much sense.

@ragreynolds ...he repeatedly raped her. I think it's pretty damn understandable that she'd flip the fuck out when told he's been set free.
Unfortunately, it’s becoming harder and harder to root for June. I get she’s flawed, I get she’s damaged and I get that she’s got a score to settle. But nothing about her character’s portrayal is even remotely likeable anymore.
That said, utterly enjoying the season and looking forward to what the following episodes may bring.

A little less June in this episode luckily, but I still don't like her hating rage

@stijnmaes1992 maybe she's raging because the man responsible for the raping and murdering of women is getting away scot-free?!

@ragreynolds Tuello been helping her so long as it benefits him and his agenda. The man has had his own motivation outside of helping Jude or even Serena this entire time. He's been putting all of this into place to get Waterford as a source and nothing more.
Not to mention, June has been quietly furious from day one. This reaction is totally in character, especially since she's been in Canada and able to more freely express that rage. She thought she was finally getting the justice she deserves from the man who kept her captive and raped her, and then this guy pulls the rug out from under her. Her exploding like that is completely understandable.

@ragreynolds more mansplaining women's rage
Goddammit, I don't even know what to think anymore. That last scene was pure and good and gentle, but at the same time I don't think I'll ever be able to get rid of the horrible taste that the rape scene from 2 episodes ago left in my mouth. I keep going back and forth between wanting to kill Serena my damn self and feeling for her. This twisted dynamic between her and June evokes all kinds of mixed emotions. And I'm getting tired of the two steps forward, one step back thing which has been prevalent in Serena's arc this season. She needs to pick a side already. You're either holding a woman down while your husband rapes her or you're crying your eyes out and letting her nurse her child. You can't have both.
Eden, you poor, poor thing. I'm sorry, but this is all Nick's fault. She was a 15-year-old kid who was indoctrinated into thinking that her sole purpose in life was to bear children and be a good wife. If he had thought to be a little nicer and more empathetic towards her instead of acting like a moody teenager (which is ironic, considering she was the only actual teenager in that mess), maybe she wouldn't have fallen for the first dude who showed the slightest interest in what she was doing. I'm so sad for her, but also really angry. She didn't deserve this.
Shoutout to Elisabeth Moss for yet another masterclass in acting. The way her eyes go dead whenever Waterford is in her general vicinity is awe-inspiring.
I'm a slut for any and all Emily content, so I absolutely loved seeing her in more than one scene in this episode. This whole storyline is so interesting and it's a shame that we're getting it so late in the season. I was holding my breath throughout her whole conversation with Lawrence. What does he want from her? Is what his wife said true? So many questions, so little time to answer them!

@aniela-krajewska i fail to see how this was any more nick's fault than it was her parents', waterford's, or even june's. he was forced into marrying a teenager he never even knew, but the others all made choices that led to her ending up like this. the same way he was allowed to not like her, she was allowed to like someone else.
So i am not enjoying this new season as much as i did the first.

@jIrona I'm not sure where the show is headed, but it just needs to stop already. June was just shown being transported in a prison van and she was restrained. Lydia also said that the handmaids were too few and they put a ton of effort into finding and capturing them. And yet the driver just opens fire on them? This show is getting ridiculous.
Episodes like this show how selfish and void of empathy people in Hollywood are. I've lost track of the amount of times someone in a Hollywood show say "you couldn't possibly know how I feel". Do writers not understand empathy at all? Or is it such a trope that they don't even think? Also, they think the right thing for Mark's girlfriend to ask for is that he spends time with her and not saving lives? If I had a story hero partner, I'd be proud and grateful for ANY time spent with them, not give them a hard time about it.

You speak of empathy but don't even empathize with Amber. Sorry for the long thread in advance, had a long thought from this comment.
Amber says repeatedly in the show that she feels guilty for her feelings because she knows he is saving the world. But you can't just expect her to be happy when the love of her life is gone for months at a time with her not even knowing if he'd even come back. She understands the sacrifice but that doesn't make her feelings not justified. Why would she be joyful when she can't even spend a day with Mark without someone trying to kill him? Then the final straw was someone trying to kill her to get to Mark. She was nearly killed in a split-second. And her reaction wasn't even just because of that, it's because they used her to break Mark. She doesn't want that for Mark or for herself. That was probably the most realistic thing about the episode, that feeling of mixed guilt, pain, and loneliness even when she's proud and in awe of Mark's heroism and sacrifice.
I knew the moment he purchased that phone that Wendy was gonna have her own brother killed. That’s fucked up!

@datbabyaintmine She didn't kill him tho. Ruth did the moment she decided that he doesn't belong in mental hospital. Thing I can't understand why on earth nobody thought about forcing him to take medication after his first fuckups! Wendy tried but not hard enough, she's so smart but didn't thought about asking Ruth to help her with that.

@ragreynolds All of that is understandable from an objective point of view, but June's reaction is not objective. I'm sure she understands why Tuello did what he did, doesn't mean she's going to sit and take it or let it happen quietly. And as you pointed out, since she's always taken one for the team, all the more reason this would make her explode. It's the straw that broke the camel's back in that moment.

@souppeh you say that as if Tuello is just wronging June to further some personal goals or something. In reality, he's doing something for the greater good. With Waterford as a source he will be able to save countless more people and get justice for them. Of course June would be upset, but she's also shown herself to be smart and understanding. She's always been willing to 'take one for the team' so to speak. Sure, she could get her own justice, but how does that help the rest of the people still in Gilead? How does that help her own daughter? With Waterford as a source instead, it means she's way more likely to get her daughter back, and also for countless other people to be saved. Tuello did the objectively right thing, even though it sucks for June on a personal level.
I love how they wont let anybody say Invincible in this show and they just introduce the title of the show every time. It's absolutely perfect

@datbabyaintmine This whole season seems to be about her becoming Walter White.
So should we still feel sorry for June? I (kinda) don't... She's become a stuck-up bitch and now she turned into a bully. Say what you will about Ofmatthew but she's in it as much as they are but sure... let's put the knives on eachothers' throats just cause they have a different way of dealing with things.
It almost seems it was written by a certain subgroup of people who think it's okay to do vile things as long as it's done to those who, in their eyes, deserve it.But at least they show that women are complex beings too, capable of doing more then be great and the best ever.

I don't think the show is trying to communicate that it's ok to behave the way June did. Just because the main character does something is not equivalent to condoning it. My view is that it's showing when you're in that kind of environment too long you fall somewhere along the spectrum between A) you just submit to what you're told to do and B) become jaded with trying to change things from within/do anything you can to "fight the system."
I think it shows some aspect of realism to see how Gilead is turning June into a hateful/butter person given how her (and other women's) lives were taken from them and became essentially slaves.
This show has gotten to be Breaking Bad good. Tell everyone you know about it because it needs way more hype!

@wags721 nope it isn't lol
Most of the episode was good story with exceptional acting, but the ending makes no sense, unless you are a TV show writer that needs June to be in constant danger next season too.

This Armond and Dylan situation made me uncomfortable. The whole thing felt very rapey, inappropriate and creepy. Armond coerced Dylan into having sex and had to drugged him first. I don’t have a problem with them hooking up but it's very obvious Armond is in a position of power and took advantage. And if he did the exact same thing to a young female employee, Twitter would have been on fire because it's inappropriate to joke about such things. I'm surprised this isn't being talked about more.
Shane and his mom chanting "money money money!" at the dinner table. Shane’s mom is right about nonprofit jobs. Did Rachel and Shane have a 10 minutes conversation before getting married? It seems like Rachel is surprised the person she married is such an obnoxious, terrible human being.
It's really hard to say who is the worst person in this series. Like, reaaally hard.

@the_argentinian honestly the show writers are really hoping you forget how dangerous some of the things in this show are, I mean Rachel is risking her life stooping the cartel from laundering money just because Marty forgot to give Tuck a job.
SYNOPSIS:
June and Luke work together to save Hannah. Serena and Fred greet unexpected visitors from Gilead. Janine tries to assist Aunt Lydia when a Handmaid-in-training goes on hunger strike.loading replies
@brownkity Yeah... it's her
"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"
Serena was really scary there. And I liked how they flaunted Putnam's predicament as a counterpoint. I even considered for a moment that Nick could have been the target of the "Salvaging" rather than Janine.
And the Resistance grows. I really hope they keep up the pace instead of trying to make it a 10-season-show because it could derail really fast. Now, does June really trust Rita or was that a leap of faith? Perhaps there was a letter written by RIta in there?
Moira's reunion with Luke was heartwarming. I'd also feared it was all a cunning trap before he showed up.

@bouncyeyeball "since ofglen told june that theres only one eye in the house"
That's a good point, though I was thinking more along the lines of her being a "true believer".
I had the same impression about her chat with Serena, so, yeah, while we can't be 100% sure, it's fairly certain she can be trusted.
I liked the bit where the new Offglen told June that the new order is good for her - that part was very realistic, because it's true, even if the worst of the regimes there are some who end up better than before.
I don't think that the scene with Emily-now-Offsteven was great or moving - It's just plain terrorism and the specific guard she killed wasn't to blame for anything, it just shows the nature of some extremists who think their misery is an excuse for hurting others.
And in general, it feels like people are just people, lust is lust - and June just missed good sex :) I'm not moved by the so-called feminist agenda, I don't see anything realistic about the idea, but the story itself is not that bad, the music placement is enjoyable, so it worth going on with it.loading replies
@mino_an " the specific guard she killed wasn't to blame for anything" - he's a willing participant in slavery, abuse, rape, torture and murder. Him, and everybody else like him, are EXACTLY the ones to blame. Without willing soldiers, the leaders couldn't do squat.
Okay so, I think RuPaul has this amazing sense of humour, and that this show really brings a lot to a lot of people BUT why the hell does everyone have to be so rude to each other? It's not funny and it's not okay when you wanna crown a girl that's talking shit about all the other contestants and trying to make them fail.
