As someone who read the manga this episode still hit quite good, tho I think it could've staged a lil better. Anyways still a great finale. For everyone who thinks next season will even increase in terms of action and violence be prepared it will not. What we will get more is tragedy and suffering. Brace yourselfs.
Akecheta is a fuckin poet. My favorite episode so far. Storytelling, direction, cinematography, score, character developement. Everything was top notch.
Best episode of the show. Did not expect the ending.
that was a hell of a episode.
It's always the same isn't it? Some superrich mfs trying to live forever and control the world..
You could really feel for the deep if he wasn't a serial sexual assaulter..
Seriously why does this show hate marine animals so much..??
Ngl the timelines were confusing af. They overdid it with the turns and twists. It's a downgrade compared to the whole season. Then Maeve lets the bisons run havoc which could've been a bomb sequence, but they staged it halfheartedly, should've better edited, soundmixed and maybe even a better musical theme? But I really liked the non-vocal recaps of the last episodes, they were like great trailers.
I read the manga years ago thats why I'm now watching Ajin. But I really hate netflix' cel-shading visuals. It's even more annoying than in 'Blame', as it was released earlier. Overall really good first episode. Good world building without wasting time. And I really like the score.
I jus realised how much I need a Indiana Jones type of show or movie with these characters.
Pretty sure they could've drowned, gassed, poisoned translucent or whatever, would've been much easier.. Also, if his skin is indestructible why are his pieces all over? The explosion should only effect the insides right?
Ok the ending was quite surprising, didn't expected that. I'm actually abit confused about it. Like, could this mean it really is vr and they are still alive..? Anyways if they really killed them off, on the one hand it's abit shocking off course, on the other I didn't had enough time with them to feel that much for them.
I dont like how Karube instantly was ready to kill Arisu after he was the wolf, like bro you were bffs jus a moment ago. The scenes from the past, which were made to transport the deep friendship between the three, felt artificial to me. I think they gave away the chance to make us really feel their friendship by bad scripting, part of the reason why I didn't felt much for them. And what about Shibuki, besides the sex with her boss, does she not deserve some things from her past which would make us get to know her better..?
Overall I feel like the show could have better staging, acting and score.
Ok this episode has a much better game. We see more players. Some of them willl probably end up as friends or foes in the future. I liked the fight against the first hunter. But overall so far its not much better than lets say the average anime shows 'High Rise Invasion' or 'Btooom'.
Whats funny to me is how often in these kind of shows the main protagonist, who did nothing than being home and playing video games for years, suddenly has the fitness of a triathlon athlete after thrown in such a situation.
The whole sex scene between Chouta and Shibuki was more than abit awkward..
Also I really don't like how often asian shows rely on flashbacks and characters talking to themselfs to explain their motives and actions. I'm a big fan of asian cinema and tv, specially korean and japanese. But while the movies take us viewers seriously the shows often do not and be like we are all plain stupid.
So this is all about a death game. I didn't know anything about this show, jus seen a few pics. I expected some post-apocalyptic scenario, probably cause of the word "borderland". Ppl who regularly follow manga/anime know probably at least a few of this kind of premises, and funny enough for me, I'd count myself to one of those but just found out after starting the show that Alice In Borderland is actually based on a manga. Theres also a mini anime series of 3 ovas.
So for a pilot this was ok, nothing to spectacular. I jus think that how Arisu came out for the solution of the first game was abit to easy and not so realistic. Overall It sets the world and some of the rules. But off course theres still alot of questions. Most obvious one whos behind all this..? And are the ppl all gone, or are the players transported to some alternative world/universe, or are they maybe even in a vr simulation..? If not vr, the laser beams from the sky, do they hint theres some alien shit going on..? Can't be all satellites can they..? Also, what if ppl never participate in a game in the first place, could they jus live on..? Cause if I remember correctly they said "when you start a game you can never stop and have to keep going for the visa.." And one thing which I think is weird, if really the population is suddenly gone wouldn't there be way more accidents..? Like planes crashing down, explosions and fires everywhere cause of gas and other reasons..?
Can the writers let this guy be a good father jus for once in his life tf? I mean he could've joined the next game after he met his daughter anyway, this is so lazy writing. I was suspecting someone has to be undercover in the games or a previous winner, cause in shows like this there always is at least one, but never had a solid hint. And this is the one thing which surprised me in the whole show, never thought it would be the host of the game, and that it will be Il-nam.
Halfway through and the show has become generic cyberpunk. Also Maeve is such a waste in this season so is Bernard. There are also lots of logic flaws now. Like almost ever place is mass surveiled and still they don't ever use face recognition to find Dolores and Bernard? Considering Bernard is the most wanted man it's kinda ridiculous.
Looks like season 3 is going to be a mix of Ghost In The Shell and Battlestar Galactica (2004). So the first episode of the 3rd season wasn't outstanding but was a nice buildup. We get to see things of the real world we didn't get to see until now. Also thought this throughout the whole second season and specially during this episode Evan Rachel Wood would have been a hell of a Terminator.
No way this sickos are replaying imperialisism wtf  also the cgi tiger wasn't all that..
If you think about the racism and violence against the poc this could also be a show in the present, so sad 70 years later we still have to deal with all this shit. I really like the blend of social drama and supernatural. Overall nice first episode even tho I didn't like the cgi monsters but tons of great music specially the 50'es blues songs.
Nothing surprisingly happened, but also nothing superbad. Yea well the hat guy died not so surprisingly, and who might behind it..? Guess, the "not surprise" will be revealed soon.. Anyways now that we have the biggest gaming map of the season I expect some good things in the last episodes.
Finally they found the beach, even tho I don't understand why they took so long. Shit is more lit than the eiffel tower at night. But why did they have this big ass gathering and speech before the games. I mean doesn't they have to play every day..? And why are they taking them in so easly when this is supposed to be a secret community, and even offering Arisu a executive seat, I really don't see why he deserves it.. Again alot of whys.. I'm not yet convinced that the solution is to have all cards, but surely it will lead to somewhere.. But in this regard, shouldn't they have already multiple decks of cards - besides the ones which never appeared - I mean they have like 24 teams every night, so this doesn't make sense to me.. The hunting the animals game wasn't much fun, turning wild cats into jokes, and we had already the panther in the awful 4th episode. Killing the eagle should have highest point shouldn't it, I mean shoting one of these at night must be quite a challenge, on top of it theres no sniper..
So far every episode has it flaws and I can't say I'm over enjoying this. But it's ok the premise still works and we have a new big setup for the final phase of the first season.
Man these guys really never think anything through huh.. I'd say it's dumb to kill all ppl at the beach at all - not to mention it's mass murder and even in these circumstances horrible - but if you wan to do it, it's plain stupid to chase them all around this huge complex, you'll never get it done by 2 hours, let alone burn them all in the pyre, which is btw not even big emough for all of them.. Come up with some other plan dudes. And this one guy with the cap who beat the girl to get to know where Arisu is, WTF you don't pick up the gun from the guy you jus knocked out..??
Some editing was weird, but in the last episodes some of the score themes were nice. The fight scenes on the other hand not so. Weird cause I liked the close combat against the hunter in the second episode.
An doing detective work in all of this chaos is kinda funny, tho I don't know if there can be a conclusion, cause even if she finds useable finger prints, doesn't she have to collect and match them from alot of ppl by logic, is that all possible in that little time..?
Well, as this is a game of heart, wouldn't rule out the best friend being the witch. Or maybe she was (forced) into suicide..?
Overall this episode is a letdown for me.
Last thing, I always wondered why they all don't look up for the ppl who setup the games. Like someone has to bring all these phones and gears and stuff to the locations and do some work there..? They must also do alot of traveling and scouting around..
Ok I was actually suspecting that Hale took over world control somehow and they tryin to fool us with all the different timelines for the 210th time, but I really liked how she turned all humans basically into hosts and has the ultimate revenge, didn't expected that. This is actually the first thing I like about the show since a very long time. Tho I think the idea with the flys and the parasite is quite rubbish, surely there was another way like something like a nanobots-virus or some, then again it wouldn't have been that creepy like the flys oh well. She basically fulfilled Seracs wettest wet dream. She also complains alot about how bad the humans treated her and her kind but then she has her own parks now and does the same to the hosts there, make it make sense.. The Caleb and Maeve timeline always felt fishy to me but that she turned him into a host tf.. Why does she even do that, like is she that bored? Does she get off to it? Is there some other plan behind it? Whatever.. And does all this means that Dolores/Chrissy is in a simulation and writing plots for the host-humans..? Or is she in the real world in the present and writing plots for the host-humans ..? Or is she in the past and.. Or is she a super-super AI now since she kinda fused with Rehaboam, did they find a way to save and control her so she can control everyone else..? Or ugh I don't know I don't care.. The golden age park gave "The Thirteenth Floor" vibes, that was a great movie, can't say the same about this show since season 3.
Horrible editing in this episode..
Was so clear Ali is just to good for himself, Sang-Woo finally showed his true colors and came up with the most stupid unconvincing story and my beyond naive guy Ali be like "Sure bro what you jus said made totally sense lets win together thumbs up, grin", actually Sang-woo kinda already came out as an ass before the second game, well like I always say never trust a broker. Other than that almost everything was as usual predictable and bad staged. Specially ill-nam and gi-huns last scenes.
Only 20 flashbacks in this episode why are the writers holding back? Cmon you can add more so you can have another another turn and another twist and another big secret and another whatnot.. Also is it just me or is the soundmixing getting worse from episode to episode..?
This was actually the worst episode of the season for me until the last 10 minutes changed it. But still it has to much fillers like - once again - the fascistic world scenes of Maeve, and like - once again - some bs journey through Williams mind. It's so repetitive and tiresome.
why does caspar look like kristen stewart?
Aethelhelm's men teleport through 3 countries up and down in lightspeed while Uhtred and his men take weeks.. Also, the black priest how come he always has access to information he couldn't have and then get forced scenes to deliver that infornation to Athelhelm's dude, jus to get the plot on going.. And how come Edward not once wants to talk to Uhtred first when the body was found in his village?? Writing at this point is really bad.
Since the third episode I'm saying the frontman is the cops brother. Shows to predictable. Also, the hosts be like we're showing you our gratitude for making it so far by giving you some cow meat but not treating your big ass wound with a big ass piece of glass sticking out of your belly which also somehow magically Gi-hun never notices, despite she bleeding tons of blood everywhere. Then in the first place why did they even made the glass fuckin explode? Make it make sense.. Whatever idc anymore..
