The episode open with “them”. Wtf. What a way to ruin this show. The gay culture has really ruined a lot of shows.
There are many reasons why this film will always be a Christmas Classic. It's filled with exactly the right ingredients for the whole family to enjoy year after year forever more. The story is simple: A huge family go on holiday, and carelessly leave their son Kevin behind. While home alone, Kevin uses booby traps to fight off two burglars.
The acting by all members of the cast is spot on. They all play a part to make the unrealistic seem believable. We really believe that the parents have forgotten about Kevin until the mother suddenly remembers that he's not there. Her reaction was spot on: Not overdramatic, but believably startled.
I always forget about John Candy's appearance in this film and he will guarantee to make you smile in any movie. So it's always a lovely surprise to see him.
Janet Hirshenson and Jane Jenkins did an amazing job at casting the two burglars, played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. They couldn't be more right for the part. They provided most of the silly slapstick, which was always bound to win me over.
It goes without saying that Macauley Culkin is a phenomenal actor. I'm NOT gonna use the phrase "for his age", because that's patronising and he is as equally as talented as all the other adult actors in the film. He is fantastic throughout but there was one shot that stood out for me. He was carrying many bags of shopping home, and all the bags tear at the bottom, and everything falls on the floor at once. He breaks the fourth wall and looks directly into the camera, and his arms drop to the side. This shot alone demonstrates how incredible he is as a comedian and how skilled he is as an actor. No other actor or comedian could have played this shot so well, especially as the camera is quite a distance from him. Oliver Hardy would've applauded that scene. However Macauley does a fantastic job throughout the film. Not just this scene. He is truly remarkable.
The music used throughout this film really makes you feel in the festive spirit. It's an emotionally uplifting ending, as any decent Christmas film is. The whole film is heartwarming and it's absolutely a must watch movie. I will always love it, and I'll be watching it every year for the rest of my life.
Alright, 3 episodes in, and that means it's review o'clock. I haven't watched The Office, so I wasn't particularly attached to this new series, but I highly value the cast.
The trailer was horrible. It felt boring as heck, but I gave the show a chance anyway. I'M LOVING IT!
It is funny, interesting, and has good character development. The characters are lovable, whereas the story might not be that believable – but it's not supposed to be; it's a comedy about space. Silicon Valley and their compression algorithm anyone?
My ratings tend to be a bit emotional, so realistically this could probably be around 8/10. "Unlearn" The Office if you've watched it, and understand you're watching something completely different. Unlearn Star Wars and Star Trek, and understand that it's a lighthearted treatment of space.
Give it a shot, chances are you'll like it.
I’m glad that Lucifer is getting a season six because if this is how the show was going to end originally, I would not be happy. It felt rather bland.
I’m intrigued to find out how they choose to bring back characters that have passed on.
Not your typical show yet a hillarious, delirious, extremely hysterical, at times insanely violent animation. Another monstrous creation from the mind of Justin Rolland that is just as chaotic, dark and meta as Rick and Morty! Filled with glorious references, all-stars guest voices and dramatic musical cues that only make the show better, Solar Opposites is just a triumph for streaming animation.
I feel that I have lost years off of my life from watching this film.
Loved the idea, the concept and a lot of the allegories and analogies. I guess the child was put there so she could starve and die - the immigrant one at the lowest level by the system. The mother did a lot to try and make the food last to the ground level, she did a lot of nasty things for her child. Maybe I'm reaching here, but I think when the child goes up, she broke the system... Against all odds she made it to the top, a flaw in the matrix that happens almost never in this much beloved capitalism of ours (irony here)
I almost never stop watching a series midway but this is just too painful to continue. It's everything wrong with Hollywood in our times.
To be fair I think the premise is pretty good and Alan Tudyk is a talented actor. He's doing his "schtick" admirably and delivers the alien humor well. It's the absolute 4th wave feminism that is intolerable. But the preaching of the new woke religion is too much.
It was evident from midway thru last season that this is where it was going but after S2E3 the writers turned it into talking points from a women's study syllabus and it's so forced. Women's pay gap? check Women being objectified? check Mansplaining? Check. Bright pink hair? Check. Unattractive fat women? Check and check and check. Stupid, spineless, buffoonish men? Oh yea. It's so bad they even have the kids joining in on the act. Can't let those little ones just be kids, we have to make sure to get em while they're young.
Don't waste your time.
One of my favourite episodes, this is epic!
This season was kinda bland. Compared to season one, this simply wasn't great.
Hope this one is a winner, really need something scary, especially after AHS becoming a hot steaming pile of turd
If you liked what you seen in the trailer then you will probably love the movie. If you didn't why the hell are you watching it anyway? It's a movie about Nicolas Cage beating up Satanic possessed Chucky cheese robots, what did you expect? I thought it was great!
this stupid ass season can kiss my ass.
STELLIO! STELLIO CONTOS! STELLIO! STELLIO CONTOS!
Do you remember The naked gun movies? Spy hard? Hot shots? How about Men in tights, or Spaceballs? Monty Python's Life of Brian? All of them are absurd humor comedies, a genre that encompasses many of the most hilarious movies / books / shows, including some occasional masterpieces, such as some of the Discworld books, or the unsurpassable The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (the books - the movie was ok, but nowhere near Douglas Adams' brilliance).
Anyway... With Medical police, they went down the same path of absurd humor. Yay! But sadly, they only achieved the absurd part. The humor, not so much. They tried, but it didn't work, at least for me. Most episodes don't have more than a couple of laughs in them; some (such as the pilot), not even that.
It's still worth a watch... if you don't have anything else to do. The first season is only 4 hours long, and the episodes are short enough too. At least they got that right!
I found out afterwards that this is a spin-off of another show called Childrens Hospital, with all the same cast. I didn't watch it, but according to IMDb, it was much better and lasted for 7 seasons. I doubt there will be a second one of Medical police, though. The idea isn't bad, and the cast is pretty good, but they lack the most important thing you can ask of a comedy show: to be funny.
The ultimate Movie...no, Morbie has arrived.
When he turned to the camera, winked and said "ITS MORBIN TIME" The crowd and myself were all overwhelmed with a sense of joy and boundless euphoria.
This is PEAK storytelling.
This is peak cinema.
Its no secret why this movie made $267 Trillion in the box office and IS and will REMAIN the highest grossing movie in the history of mankind.
I'm glad I lived through and experience such a triumphant piece of cinema history.
After the movie aired, everyone who was in my theater stayed around and talked for hours about what we just witnessed. Some were shaking, some were at a complete loss for words. But the sense of community and togetherness this film brought is something that will never be recreated.
The pain and distress of this entire family is not something I am going to subject myself to, at least while I’m sober. And since I’m a teetotaler, I won’t be watching this again.
Wow this is one bad show. Very forced comedy. Can’t watch anymore. Avoid this show at all costs.
Season 2 is a pathetic waste of time.
A little more commentary would've helped here, I think basically it's saying the child is born and probably dies over the course of a few hours, and I get the impression it's happened before, but a little more knowledge into it would've helped seal the deal and make this more memorable and less confusing.
I wanted to finish the season before rating it. I honestly thought the SJW agenda in it was a satire. After watching the whole season, it is not. They are seriously producing this. It has absolutely nothing to do with Watchmen and if you liked the movie or the comic, I'd recommend to not waste time on this garbage.
It's entertaining, but it's completely one-sided. It only tells half of the story for almost all of the topics.
Not really a comedy as shown in the trailer
So far, Dead Set was much better. Exact same plot done 12 years earlier.
I know it’s practically the beginning of the year. But I’m gonna call it, movie of the year. Nic Cages roll of his career. Don’t miss it. 10/10
:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Apple had the courage to compare this to some of the well established animated TV shows in the push notification they used to advertise it. While those are comedy shows, Central Park is not one. It’s a musical and a bland one at best.
How does Nicky become a Kung Fu master in such a short time? Did she drink some ancient Chinese magical herbs mixed into green tea to gain the skillz.
