Nice thriller, but after an hour the twist is easy to figure out which takes the bite out of the rest of the film. Let’s see what David Chirchirillo brings next, as I really liked Cheap Thrills he wrote!
Great movie, funny and poignant at the same time. Kelsey Grammer is great and Kristen Bell is her usual adorable self. 9/10
Watching Whitney and Kevin starting their special friendship, is magical.
The lyrics of I wanna run to you
Are selfexplanatory...
I know that when you look at me
There's so much that you just don't see
But if you would only take the time
I know in my heart you'd find
A girl who's scared sometimes
Who isn't always strong
Can't you see the hurt in me?
I feel so all alone
I wanna run to you..
Whitney..., Rest in peace.
I should really keep my hands off movies that were presented at any given film festival.
Turned it off after about 45 min. Don't like they way it's made, with all this back and forth in the timeline. If you want to present a message make the movie interesting to watch. Than there is, of course, all this for God and Country stuff hinted. Strong talk from officers about "this is the most important day of your life" and a sargeant who goes with bare arms into combat like he got right out off an 80s Vietnam movie.
Of course this is a rather personal view.
Well, that was confusing. I don't know, maybe I was expecting a bit more of the end, and there's still a few thing I didn't understand.
"No comment here, no comment at all. We only wanted to introduce you to one of our very special citizens, little Stephanie, who lives in a house all alone. And if by some strange chance you should run across her, you had best think only good thoughts. Anything less than that is handled at your own risk, because if you do meet Stephanie, you can be sure of one thing: you have entered The Twilight Zone."
Fascinante!!!
Super recomendo, assistam!
Waste of time movie.. the storyline was very poor.. there’s no back story about the money.. it was just a waste of time
I was sucked in by the poster, to be honest. I thought there would be more action. Having said that, I enjoy movies with good stories which this had.
[PÖFF'21] A thriller that speaks of the fears of our society, represented in classism. This rescue is reminiscent of "Knife in the water" (1962), in the development of relationships between characters in a small space from which there is no escape. Alfredo Castro is once again the face that reflects fear, but also hatred. And there is an excellent handling of tension in one of the most disturbing movies of this year.
This movie was not bad - it had a decent mystery running through it and keeps your attention - all the way up to the end where it kind of comes to a screeching halt and doesn't have a proper ending. But still watchable for most horror/thriller lovers.
The concept is fine, and the film is sometimes nicely shot. But thanks to wooden acting, direction that fails to raise the pulse, and a boringly slow pace, this is a film that inflicts tedious cruelty onto the viewer.
worth watching
Great soundtrack and superb acting. It's like Frida is back, and Ophelia sex-appeal... Oh my!
what a surprise this was, it totally exceeded my expectations. had my full attention right from the start until the end & the ending was excellent. awesome movie, highly recommended!!
Super-low-budget (£29000) means that the film has it's limitations, but it is worth a watch to see what can be done.
Just happened across this movie, and am I happy i did. First off, the kid who played sammy made this movie, and the ending, what it is. Secondly, William H. Macy delivered as well. Third, JOHN RITTER! (Hey fay boy (IT) ). If you haven't seen this movie, check it out.
Side thought: Where does the name of the movie play in? Panic? I kept wondering that throughout, couldn't place it. Thought maybe they would say a single line of dialog that would bring it together, but it didn't .. or i missed it.
More a parable on faith and evil than a horror movie. Beautiful to look at but a confusing story at times.
Intriguing drama, more suited to the stage than a film.
An excellent young adult movie with a novel take on special powers. Excellent young cast. Thriller pace with tender moments. I give this movie an 8 out of 10. [Super Powers]
You can't find authentic Mexican food in Paris. You can't find authentic Chinese food in Paris (the restaurant signs proclaim Asian Caterer, as if Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine was the same), and you can't find authentic Indian food in Paris for the simple reason that French food is so good, that whenever they borrow another nation's cooking, they alter it to make it more French.
This phenomenon frequently happens with cinema, as well. Carnivores had all the fixings of a decent thriller with some moments of intense suspense, but then they ruined the feast by adding too much French sauce. By this I mean that they mixed in too much art and too much thinking.
Which was a shame -- and unnecessary -- because the cinematography was so striking that it gave an after-taste of art to the whole affair already, so the film didn't need the overlong scenes, the extended silences or the super closeups. A fast and simple thriller would've gone down much better and been in better taste than this burger made up to look like filet mignon.
This was a good movie. Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammer were the draw but the movie was more than I expected. Usually, unlikable characters cause me to lose interest but I'm glad I hung in there - these characters filled out as the movie progressed. Good acting. Nice storytelling. Stupendous commercial for Royal Caribbean Cruiselines. As a side note, comedian Seth Rogen, a Canadian actor, played a Canadian in a very likeable, vulnerable way, but, is it my imagination, or is there a new American trend to poke fun at the Canadian image of being nice (maybe a little naive and simple) people? Well, I guess the haters could do worse. Notwithstanding the possible poke, I give this film a 7.9 (nicely good) out of 10. [Dramedy]
So good Scenes between some really annoying dialogues. But definitely entertaining.
Excellent 'home' invasion horror movie. I would have rated it higher however the ending was pretty lame (but any excuse to get the 'final girl' in her underwear must be taken... rolls eyes)
This movie is terrible. All the actors are Spanish, but the movie dialogues are in English, and bad English at that. I understand that the protagonist's boyfriend is British or something, so she must speak in English with him, but why did the bad guys speak English between them? It was so unnecessary and silly. The acting in this movie is horrible, the dialogues are unnecessary and stupid and everything else is just lame. They did a poor job
Fun but it starts out better than it ends. The cast is perfect through-out though. Samara Weaving gives a fine wtf is going on performance while being pretty badass at the same time.
You might be disappointed if you were hoping for family members killed one by one sort of movie though. I expected the movie to be more like You’re Next for example.
