I've been an avid fan of Mike Flanagan's ever since I happily stumbled upon "The Haunting of Hill House" back in 2018... After which I immediately made sure to watch his whole body of work. I love how philosophical, creative, and different each new project of his is, so I knew I wouldn't be disappointed by this one.
Truth is, even though death and loss have been recurring themes throughout his writing and filmmaking, I always find that he's able to spin them in such a way that the final result ends up being soothing and reassuring... And I'm writing this while going through a hard time in my life, so I'm especially grateful that "The Midnight Club" came out when it did. Yes, I adore the horror elements in his stories, but, somehow, the message that we're not alone in the world - neither in life nor death - is what really stays with me after I finish each binge-watching session
mike flanagan im obsessed with ur mind
This is the role of a lifetime for Carla Gugino. She’s transcendent in her role and deserves every award under the sun for this performance.
Every actor in here gives a performance of a lifetime, but the role that Miss Gugino plays is the biggest scene stealer. Quite reminiscent of The Man in Black from Stephen King’s work. Mark Hamill being a close second to her.
Kudos to the whole ensemble and crew for this masterpiece.
Super pumped for this mike doesn't disappoint with his horror series's
truly just one of the funniest shows I've come across. the entire cast is zany and fun, the charisma is there and so so so many catch phrases. without further Ado I'll plunge ahead.. such fun!
After watching this, it's hard for me to think anyone could believe there was "evidence beyond reasonable doubt". There were SO many mistakes, questions, contradictions, and procedural misconducts which cast doubts on the State's case.
Not a bad show at all. It is obviously geared towards a younger audience, but I still had a good watch. Many reboots/remakes put off some fans, canon and all that but it is well put together for what it is.. So if You're a purist they did muck it up. In Grease 2 [01:19:36] Johnny Nogerelli says "that jacket you are wearing is T-Bird Property, you wanna leave the party..drop the jacket at the door on your way out. I gota rep to protect.."
I thought the soundtrack was a little lacking; while my music tends to be euro/ebm/top 40 etc, I did find the lack of nods to the 50's music styles a let down, a modern rock-a-billie style or just an amped up retake of the beats would have been great.

The Munsters - the other 60s TV horror family besides The Addams Family.
Althought I like both I must say I like The Munsters a little bit more. Fred Gwynne did an amazing job. Call be crazy but I think Herman Munster is one of the most lovable characters ever done. He´s like a 7 foot, 300 lbs child. The whole show is so enjoyable to watch. Another true classic.
Did a pretty good job of "Modern Gothic", the setting was what I'd imagined from Anne Rice's novel.
Would love to see this finished in some way. Just loved this show as a child.
Absolutely loved this cartoon when I was a kid...brilliant!!! The only bad thing was it never got finished so the kids never got back home.
Unforgettable fantasy series. One of my favorite chilhood memories.
The movie, Interview with the Vampire, has always been a fav. After the first episode, I immediately nearly forgot the movie and fell in love with Anderson's Louis and Reid's Lestat. Everything about Rolin Jones' interpretation feels right. The era change, the age differences for Claudia, having Louis be Black. Top notch story-telling so far. Looking forward to following this story.
Incredible command of pacing, superb acting and insane chemistry. An abuse relationship hadn't been depicted so intensely in a lot of seasons. Top notch TV in the technical department as well, might easily be one of the best shows of 2022.
An absolute must of this season.
The original, the one & only Addams Family.
Love Ted Cassidy.
Wow...I never thought I would change my mind about this case but now I have. The grandfather was a dirty nonce,he killed her.
This is something fun to watch in between different shows, not a lot of depth, but a good laugh.
At first I didn't expect to like this show. But at a certain point I got hooked! Simple enough to love!
A very enjoyable period drama, but sadly the one surprising plot twist happens in the beginnings of the first episode, and the rest is entirely predictable. Nevertheless, still a good show with fitting Downton-esque music and cinematography.
Hope this one is a winner, really need something scary, especially after AHS becoming a hot steaming pile of turd
It is my opinion this show has so far got it right by ANNE RICE!!
I just don't agree with all these comments about just watching the UK version. The Americanized Office worked, why can't this one? That is all you hear, "don't they ever have any ideas of their own?" There are countless attempts at original shows every year and no one watches them either. Starting a show with a built-in audience just make sense sometimes.
And after just seeing the hour premiere, I do enjoy it just as much as the original. They did change some of the characters and im all for the differences.
Much better than expected. Large in scope and ‘world size’, beautiful cinematography, and decent acting.
And the romantic elements are actually reigned in at appropriate times, which keeps up the fast pace (well, so far; I am on Episode 3, though tempted to keep binging.)
Yes, there are some very obvious allegorical plot devices and links to “current affairs” straight out of the gate, but they’re balanced with the fantasy elements and help flesh out the alternate world.
.. P.S. Amazon’s teaser for this wasn’t very good or striking, but the show has turned out to be intriguing.
Edit - after finishing the first season, it lacked the anticipated depth I first thought I gleaned. To me, it was more visually appealing than anything else.
I was very much enjoying the show the whole time, till the last few minutes of the finale.
I'm not a big fan of Matt Smith but let's hope he's good in this
such a quick show to watch, and so worth it. I think i speak for everyone when i say sister michael is the best character.
I am 4 episodes in and each is worse than the last. The creators / producers can't possibly think that any part of this is worth watching, can they? It's so embarrassingly bad!
