The Bricklayer

The moment one of the bad guys was shooting a helmet that was thrown at the floor, well I simply knew that it wasn't going to be a good movie.
Aaron Eckhart is no action hero for sure but points for effort and also for Nina Dobrev.
Weak storytelling, unrealistic fight scenes and wtf were those dreadful sound effects?
Overall this is a forgettable movie that I wouldn't recommend.

How can you have a cast like this and somehow make everyone look crap?
- The first act which is the best part is from Kingsman: The Secret Service.
- The second act is the crap from Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
- As for the final act well honestly I don't fucking know, I was gonna suggest those scenes were something straight out of a recent Fast and Furious movie but as funny as this may sound that would have been insulting. That skating scene especially is up there as one of the stupidest scenes ever. The Bryce Dallas Howard character twist was a total miscast in the end.
- Matthew Vaughn needs to find that magic again from Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class and certainly the first Kingsman: The Secret Service if he thinks he can keep making movies like this with massive budgets.

My mum saw the reporter’s penis and then just stared at me with such disappointment.

John Cena was by far the funniest/best part of this. Zac Efron was fine but it's Andrew Santino and Jermaine Fowler who just didn't do it for me when it comes to the chemistry as best friends with Zac. It has its funny, memorable moments for sure and the runtime could've been shorter.

‘Let's make a haunted movie but it can't be a haunted house, so let's think outside the box’

‘I've got an idea how about a haunted swimming pool’

Shitty movie with a shitty premise. Not scary and what a dreadful ending like someone died and there's zero emotion. Creators just use Ghosts as an excuse to make shit up.

Society of the Snow

What a fucked up cannibalistic orgy this was.

Terrifying, horrific, disturbing, claustrophobic and emotional. Everything about this movie is simply magnificent, from all the amazing performances, set design, fantastic hair & makeup(shout-out to them) and flawless writing. I have to mention the plane crash scene, wow honestly I can't think of a better shot than any other movie I've seen to date.
The ending got me real good :sob:.

Actual Title: Will They Kiss Each Other featuring Fingernails
- Nearly two hours of a woman contemplating cheating on her husband with her co-worker might sound harsh but that’s what it felt like. I never felt that Anna and Amirs connection was real as if they had nothing in common or any similar hobbies as an example.
- The whole measuring love by taking a compatibility test seemed very intriguing. But seeing it play out was just putting the couple’s fingernails in a machine and it would somehow make a calculation on if they were compatible.
- Jeremy Allen White was sadly underused in this, he’s brilliant in The Bear.

Players

From the trailers, this looked fun and entertaining and it was for the first 45 minutes. Gina Rodriguez and the group dynamic were the most enjoyable part. As a comedy, it has its moments but when the double date scene arrives it becomes so cringe and all over the place especially when it comes to a not-so-believable ending.

The Marsh King's Daughter

Very predictable movie
The positives were Ben Mendelsohn who was great, Daisy Ridley was fine and the first act to set up the story.
Unfortunately, it's a movie I've seen plenty of times. Nothing happened in the second act, 20 minutes too long and you can see the ending from a mile away. I felt they should have shown more of the daughter's relationship with her mother after escaping her father which could've added more of an emotional side that we didn't get to witness through Daisy Ridley’s character.

Fine I guess!
Nothing felt original especially the characters but the whole idea of the wishes was fine.
Feels like I’ve seen this movie play out the same before.
When it comes to the music the main song is good the rest alright.

Overall not the worst Disney Animation movie but definitely forgettable.

I only watched this because Lindsay Lohan is in it and is having a bit of a resurgence but even with that it's totally cringe, stupid and predictable.
Why did Jane Seymour need to be in this?

Damsel

The best part for me was the CGI dragon.
MBB is ok as the lead, one minor thing that bothered me was that I noticed she suddenly had more lip gloss in that egg scene.
Angela Bassett felt so out of place, who honestly thought that she would be a good choice to play Ray Winstone's wife and her English accent wasn't believable.
Was Robin Wright not bothered doing an English accent or if she couldn't do one why cast her, weird decision.

Overall it's nothing special and is unmemorable.

Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate

I thought it was going to be at least better than Madame Web. It’s so bad I couldn’t even finish it unlike Madame Web somehow. Who honestly made the decision to not bring back the original voice cast, shocking decision and the last thing is the animation is atrocious, did I completely miss the memo or was this made for toddlers?
The Megamind: The Button of Doom had better animation as well as the original voice cast and it's a 15-minute short film.

Fuck that ending, I knew that was gonna happen.

One Life

Such a beautiful story that needed to be told on the big screen with nice performances and the younger/older versions are well-cast. I knew what it was about after coming across the TV audience clip online a few years ago, so I was expecting it and when the moment showed up, I was crying my eyes out.
It was a shame they didn't put that clip in at the end of the movie which was a shame.

How haven't I seen this before or for the most part never even heard of it?
Such a cool and dark sci-fi movie with a phenomenal cast. I was gonna give it an 8 if it wasn't for that frustrating editing and sound effects surrounding that one character at the end, also the ending was kinda confusing.

Race for Glory: Audi vs Lancia

It should be a crime to make a racing movie this boring.
Race for Glory: Audi vs Lancia starts quite interesting but as soon as we get into the 2nd act and then the final act. It becomes extremely uninteresting and the pacing is flat even the racing scenes couldn't help it, those weren't terrible but just overall ok. I simply didn't care about the characters or the outcome of the story. The main character felt kinda obnoxious and Daniel Brühl was sadly underused.
It's not a car crash of a movie that's for sure.

Anyone But You

Sorry as a man I'm meant to believe that Glen Powell is just like every other dude on the planet.
It's lazy writing for me when you introduce a character as a nice guy but then quickly try and make him a knobhead. The humour is fine, It's pretty average when it comes to a rom-com. 4th Hemsworth was funny and the best part of this.
Definitely wasn't easy watching this when you're surrounded by women and then a hot sex scene comes up.

All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt

It just didn't work for me.
I appreciate the approach.
Beautifully shot with an intriguing yet calm style.
I could never connect with the movie at any point, so subsequently I found it overall boring.

It's a Wonderful Knife

I seriously wanted the main character to die.
That last 15 minutes were painfully bad besides that it's fine for a Christmas slasher.

Rustin

Colman Domingo coming in with a fabulous performance playing Bayard Rustin. His performance definitely carries the movie but unfortunately, excellent acting can only do so much when the movie never goes to the next level, especially the final act which felt short and safe. The supporting cast was good but I don't know about Chris Rock, he was miscast.

What Happens Later

Mostly a Boring watch!
Meg Ryan’s 2nd movie as a director, unfortunately it showed. The dialogue between the two characters in the first and second act wasn’t enjoyable considering its a rom-com there wasn’t any charm or anything funny exchanged between the two. The airport announcer was a strange idea and felt unnecessary.
The third act had the best moments especially when dealing with the emotional side unlike the rest of the movie which simply didn’t.

The story about the pilots trying to fly back from the war is something I never knew about.

For a Christmas movie I didn’t hate it but It wasn’t good.
Main character was meh, Melissa McCarthy was too much at the beginning but alright towards the end. Pacing too slow and the plot predictable.

Only 1 of 2 reasons why you should watch this:
- Jennifer Garner as a hot football mum.
- A Christmas body switching movie.

Also did they forget to put noses on the humans?

Baghead

Cool concept but unfortunately poorly executed while being entirely boring and eventually predictable. For horror, it isn’t scary and the other annoying thing was that they were warned that the entity shouldn’t be talked to longer than 2 minutes but they never once used that advice and wonder why shit went bad. What a strange decision to set this in Berlin, why not in England when you have English characters and an English pub?
I wouldn’t recommend it.

Madame Web
  • This makes Thunder Force look like a masterpiece.
  • Why was everyone allergic to say Spiderman, Sony owns the bloody character?
  • One of the worst villains ever and despite that I still wanted him to kill those girls.
  • Can we stop making the hottest actress in the group the geek, a less confident, sweet and innocent character because no one is buying it seriously.
  • This is the result of hiring the worst writers in the industry.

Morbius was better…

The Kitchen

Daniel Kaluuya’s director debut is sadly a disappointing boring sci-fi that just takes too long to get going or even go anywhere, unfortunately. The 2 main characters are not dislikable but not likeable either. The world and setting are by far the only interesting parts to take out of it sadly not the characters so I'll probably never watch this again and I find it hard to even recommend.

As a football fan watching Ian Wright act and play Lord Kitchener actually worked.
