the worst adaption I´ve ever seen.
Light, a stupid teenage student, uses the Death Note to impress Mia, a girl he likes.
They go rampage and kill criminals. L is getting emotional while it all turns into some comedy/love drama, because Light didn´t want to murder his own father.
If they changes ALL the names and maybe the title, the movie wouldn´t be that bad. But if you expect a Death Note movie, you´re only getting dissapointed.
I don´t even mind the "white whasing". I don´t mind, that L is black, Light is called Turner or Mia is just some random classmate of him. There personalities are all completely different and "Kira" is just a boring person.
I can tell you that Game of Thrones is phenomenal, visual beautiful, fantastic, exhilarating and action-packed thrilling rollercoaster that in many ways has not been seen yet in a tv show. I could say that and be absolutely right about it, but unless you have been living under a rock without an internet connection for the past 2 years than no doubt you already heard, seen or read for yourself what a masterpiece the books and/or this tv series is.
Game of Thrones is exactly like the title says: A game for the throne. Played by the people who think its their right to claim, conquer or inherit it. They all have different goals and different ways of getting to that point, but their goal is in essence in one way or another the same for all of them: to be recognized and remembered for their deeds. Off course that is not so weird since everyone in real life at some level thinks like that. But the main characters in Game of Thrones are different, either through noble descent, the power and money they have, intelligence or sheer luck they have become a member of one of the noble houses that rule the countries and can decide the fate and lives of hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of people within the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos.
The story, setting and characters are all taken from a broad range of European history. Most of what we see of the continent Westeros (castles and tournaments) is taken from High Medieval Western Europe from around the 11th, 12th, and 13th centuries. But the story takes bits and pieces from other time periods as well. For example the wildfire that was used in season 2 in a brilliant strategic move of "The Imp" Tyrion Lannister during the Battle of the Blackwater is in fact Byzantine "Greek fire" which was invented and first used in the 7th century during battles between Muslims and Byzantines. This and other historical events, devices and characters based on real people out of history are all as it seems perfectly interwoven into each other into the fictional world of Game of Thrones by the author of the books George R. R. Martin.
For the actors who play the characters i have nothing but utmost respect. The performance they manage to show episode after episode is definitely what makes this tv show so popular. There is one in particular that without a doubt is one of the more popular stars of this tv show: Peter Dinklage who plays the role of "The Imp" Tyrion Lannister. In the 1st season he was portrayed as nothing more than someone who took advantage of his noble status and money to do whatever he wanted. But in season 2 (and hopefully the next seasons too) he transformed despite his disadvantage of being born as a dwarf (who during medieval times and in this fictional world are considered "lesser" humans) into a brilliant military and political strategist and someone who can very good and enjoys as he so very accurately said himself "play the game".
Game of Thrones is without a doubt the hit tv show of this decade. It started out with a story about medieval times, but slowly with every episode we see the world of the Seven Kingdoms transform into a place where mythical creatures exist, magic and dark powers are used as a weapon against enemies and where the dead are once more walking again.... Winter is coming, and i have no doubt it that it will be as spectacular and story-wise phenomenal as we have have seen in the previous seasons.
I love Predator franchise, but this film is simply ridiculous!!
I get that this show is hot at the moment and everyone is talking about it! And I do get that it highlights the issue of bullying in schools and all that! Yes, this does send a message to people to raise awareness and all and I think it is nice! However, I still can't see how is this getting high ratings, I could barely finish the episodes?
To each their own, I guess! right?
Or maybe I'm not liking it because I am not a teen anymore, as this is a teen drama? lol
I think that this show is very, very slow-paced and that it seems like Hannah, the main character (kinda), commited suicide as an act of revenge against the people that did something bad to her and that is not the best message that you should deliver through a suicide show.
This was a steamy pile of an out of control train wreck.
Poor and unintelligent writing, a pretty reckless approach to the subject material, and a whole character or utterly unlikeable and sympathetic characters.
Just avoid, no work the time.
First two episodes were campy yet enjoyable. Third episode just jumped the shark...smh. so bad so very bad
Terminators: Recycled was the same program run the same way after a soft reboot. Still, it was fun to see Linda Hamilton again and Mackenzie Davis is so good that I hope there's a sequel just to see her continue to be the action hero I never knew I needed.
It’s a strange one, certainly original. I didn’t think it started well, it even seemed a bit silly. But, I’m glad I’ve kept watching, as it’s growing on me and I find the concept interesting.
It’s thought provoking in a way, considering the basics of the story and how the world would be in such a situation. It’s something I’ve never given thought too.
I don’t particularly understand the sexual scenes or the relevance to why it’s part of the story, it just seems stupid to think they’d use sexual pleasure as a way to pray or communicate to god. It’s weird and unnecessary.
I’ve watched 3 and as much as I’ve enjoyed it, I think the storyline maybe predictable. However, I do still love the basic concept and the thought in to how the world would adapt and progress under those circumstances.
Looking forward to watching more and hope my initial thoughts of being predictable are proven wrong; it’s still early days.
The kind of movie included for free with a kiddie meal.
It's honestly decent-ish. Lots of very cheesy lines (I think the acting isn't bad at all, just wish the characters weren't such overused stereotypes), there's even a guy who quite literally Nopes out of a confrontation ... so, meh. Visuals are quite good, thought some of the CGI outside spaceship sequences could have done with a bit more budget, but I'm guessing they spent it all on the ending. Just wish they had used more of the monsters and weapons we all know so well. Also forewarning, it's kinda bad at the beginning but gets progressively better as it comes closer to the source material. The blue zombies from the very start almost made me not want to finish the movie.
Just keep in mind this is NOT a big budget movie, I went in expecting an officially licenced AAA film, but it's more of a straight to DVD type.
The technical aspect is impressive but a gimmick will only get you so far, and the acting is quite good, these actors deserved a better script. MY GOD what a bunch of insufferable idiots these characters are. I actually feel embarrassed on their behalf. Robbing a bank, leaving the car two blocks down the road, going in to a club next door to party throwing 100euro bills around, getting thrown out of the club, realising you left your friend passed out in the getaway car, then getting into a shootout with the police, there's incompetent and then there's these guys. Enjoy your Darwin Awards, you fucking idiots.
The writing of the first act alone and the confusion over the protagonist was magnificent to me. I had an absolute blast in the theater with this one.
Well well well... I am not certain what to think of this film to be honest. Overall, yes, it is a horror film and a unique story. But I have a thing against what they call a “teenage horror film.” Somehow these films don’t do it for me.
Overall, the acting was mediocre as well. The make up person of the “monster”, you are the reason I don’t hate this film. Hats off to you.
Would I watch it again? No. Would I make my friends watch it? No.
Great show -- if all the episodes were released at once, I wouldn't sleep ;-)
"happiness Only Real When Shared"
Best ending quote ever heard in movies
The movie starts out not so bad, and then goes downhill. The plot is simple but effective enough, the zombie apocalypse has struck and a group of survivors are trying to get to a safe place they've heard of. The viewer doesn't really have a chance to get close to the characters, which hampers the enjoyment of the movie.
It looks like they ran out of money halfway, because the special effects at the end are really bad. Apart from that, zombie makeup and action scenes throughout the movie are unspectacular but sufficient.
You don't find life interesting anymore
What a sad happy ending...
Fab finale of a superb show. I know they parted ways on bad terms but I was still kinda hoping we'd see Cuddy one last time.
Best adaptation of Sherlock Holmes ever. Even better than BBC's Sherlock (it lacks the drug abuse and 'unethical' practices from the detective. It's too "politically correct", it's somewhat annoying). Now if you think I'm on the wrong show posting this, either you didn't watch House MD, or you don't know Sherlock Holmes...
Now THAT is how you write a final episode!
Timeless. Still as good as it was back when it aired.
I loved the early seasons of One Piece. But recently each episode seem to be like 10 minutes long. Most anime tend to have the opening 90 seconds long, but One Piece opening is 2:30 minutes, then follow by a dialog flash back that's 2-3 minutes. One episode I timed that it didn't start until the 5:25 minute mark. Then fights last multiple episode just like Dragonball. It seem they used every trick they can to stretch the show out and provide the least amount of contents.
was impressed by the first episode, but as the season progresses, it just seems unnecessarily slow
I don't even know how to approach this. I am at a complete loss of words for how uninspiring and delusional this film was. I feel like it did a great disservice to the original film, and I am saddened by that idea. I really am, because while this film started great, it didn't end well. Additionally, the second half of this film seemed rushed and how the characters progressed seemed to be a bit of a cop out.
Let's start with the ending. Let's get this out of the way first, because I still don't know what's going on here. Usually this is okay, as with the first film, but this was just poorly executed here. The whole idea of Kate being an agent and Sasha having her own agenda is great. Loved that part. The implosion? Great. I loved that too. The part about Kate's mission being to retrieve a device from Sasha and later being killed to protect some information? Didn't like it. I didn't think it was well explained and I didn't think it fit the narrative.
The original film kept the viewer inside of the cube. We never saw the outside; maybe it wasn't even outside that Kazan walked into. In this film, however, we are taken completely out of the cube and we are shown a huge array of characters who have little meaning. We go from a nice cast of a handful of characters, true to the original film, and abruptly are shown twice that amount in additional characters. That ruined my immersion and I feel sad.
Let's talk about how the characters die. The first half of the film kept a really good pace for this and characters died and a steady pace. Grim, but true. After that, the viewer is forced to accept a multiverse theory, which is okay, and is shown characters repeatedly dying. Still, kinda, okay, but now we're losing track of who our "original" characters are. This tries hard to break immersion, but it's saved somewhat by Kate realizing the watches in the end. Oh, and we still don't know who wrote all of the things on the walls. That was shown from the onset, and wasn't explained. I also feel that they ran out of time and killed off characters wayyy too quickly in the end.
This is not a terrible film, but it definitely wasn't great and certainly wasn't as good as the original. It's worth the watch, still, but keep your expectations in check. It tried to do more than the scope of Cube and I think that's why this film isn't as successful. If they had kept closer to the original structure, this would have fared much better. There's a lot more I could talk about today, but suffice to say, I didn't love this film. Watchable, especially because of the first, but not memorable.
Great visuals and acting. But the story is kinda weird. It just goes from 0 to 100 real quick without much of a explanation.
Didn't know where this was going but I loved the direction it took. Matt Bomer owning it as usual.
