Orange Is The New Black is really a good show, and much different compared to other shows which are currently high rated.
The writers don't need that long to build up the characters. This is what I don't like at the beginning of many shows, because most of the time this is the boring part - until the whole story starts to develop. In Orange Is The New Black you got kicked in right from the start.
The actors are really good . All of them. And well written; and I got to admit that my favorite character is "Red". Not just because Kate Mulgrew played Captain Kathrin Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager, but because the character is build up so strong, and she's got so many facets.
You also get to know her in more backflashes (that explains how the people got into the prison). Some TV shows are using backflashes as well to explain some things, and usually I find that annoying, because it is a hard cut in the current plot; but the director in Orange Is The New Black is doing that so well, that it doesn't me bother at all - just the opposite: I want to know why the women got in there.
After watching the first three episodes I wrote that the show shouldn't be drama. It should be a comedy show. That is not true, after I watched the other episodes. Yes, there are funny scenes in it, but it defiantly got the strong drama parts as well.
I highly recommend to give this show a try, because you might wanna love it!
Kevin Spacey is so great in this show, and his wife Claire (Robin Wright) too. They play their roles so realistic, I believe them every word!
Barack Obama wrote a book as he's got into "higher" politics. I see some parallels from the book and this tv show. Everything is very realistic. The show reminds me a little bit of "Damages" with Glenn Close, where intrigue play a big role too, but in House of Cards it is much more sophisticated. You can't really miss one episode, because you gonna miss so much. And I also do not want to miss an episode , because you never get bored here. That is how a tv show concept should be!
The big thing about the show is also the first season's ending. I don't want to put a spoiler here, but I couldn't imagine that all those different story lines got put together to a big picture in the ending.
That was amazing. Really great written.
I give the first season 9 out of 10 points because it is so amazing well written, the acting is simply awesome and the only annoying thing which comes to my mind is the long intro.
So if you want to see a realistic politics & life tv show: Give it a try.
I am in the middle of the first season but I gonna say: this show is so good !
Since The Walking Dead is getting more and more boring, Homeland's season is over, and Breaking Bad's final season is starting in July I was looking for a TV Show which is exiting, got a central theme in it. Where you get surprised and the acting is good.
A TV show which is realistic and dangerous.
I found all of it with this show!
Since this TV Show is about the cold war I want to compare it with James Bond, and the second reason is I don't want to put spoilers in it:
I am pretty sure you know the older James Bond movies, where Bond is jumping of a cliff with no parachute, into a plane, gets control over the plane, destroying the enemy's base and got no scratches. Superhero Bond. No problems.
And then you know the newer Bond movies with Daniel Craig. Where Bond has problems. He's a drinker. Getting hurt, Getting scratches, simply more realistic.
If you know what I mean, then you know who the show is like.
Two KGB agents who are in the US for some years. Got two children. Have to live their whole life under disguise, which living a FBI Agent next door.
They like in some way there life as normal people and they do like in some way the people of America. But in their point of view the US government is evil. They what to build a anti-missile defense system (google Star Wars Bush), which would make the nuclear arsenal of Russia worthless. And they have to do something against that.
Lets see how the show develops. 9/10
I loved it!
I am not the musical guy. I do not like the music, it feels so soft - so mainstream - so "happy everywhere" or "sadness overload".
And I think that musicals should be watched live in a theatre and not in a movie, because the story, songs etc. are written to be watched live. Just like movies should not be performed in theatre.
But I have to admit: Les Misérables was great! The actresses and actors were amazing, the music wonderful. But you have to watch the movie with good headphones - or if u lucky with a good sound system. :o)
The acting of Anne Hathaway was amazing. Big love! Just watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzNVmZfNoa8
The interpretation and renewed songs are perfect. Just Russel Crowe potential of singing was not the best, but it did not bother me at all. One of my favourite scenes / sing parts by the way is this clip. Sorry for the subs there:
http://youtu.be/q29OOI6Y6ig?t=1m38s
So even if you are not into musicals, give recommend to give it a try and you might get surprised and you gonna like it.
9 out of 10 points for this "movie". But if you didn't like the two youtube links I put here - you better won't watch the movie.
This movie has been in my library for a long time. Unwatched.
I prejudiced this movie too much.
Why? Because I thought, it is a movie about a boy who's getting in trouble, and finds himself on a small rescue boat on the ocean with a tiger. And the tiger. is getting his very best friend, they r gonna survive and: HAPPY END.
A Boy.
A Tiger.
On a boat.
Before watching this movie I thought, okay, this might get REALLY boring. Well I did not got bored at all! There was so much happing all the time.
I do not want to spoiler, but I loved the ending as well. Not the real big Hollywood - Ending where everyone is happy.
Stupid plot. Well, it wasn't.
When you watch this movie, you will get funny scenes (especially in the beginning), and really good actors.
You get stunning pictures and I do not mean the tiger by that. Sure the tiger / animals were GREAT, but I loved the pictures around the boat really much.
Life of Pi was one of the best movies I have seen this year... and it is October right now ;)
8/10
Some say the show is a little bit like "Grey's Anatomy" in space, others its like "Lost" in space. Well I personally think it isn't anything of this.
If you watch this tv show you get a tv show which is very realistic. No real fancy technical stuff what we all might like about Star Trek, no fighting scenes like in Star Wars. I don't want to spoil anything, but the plot is simple: make a journey through our solar system which really takes a long time and a mystery factor which everything makes more interesting and a starship which isn't that big.
You also get some realationships between the actors.
But there is action in this TV Show. I never get bored watching this and I am a little bit sad that the show got canceled after the first season. There is no big ending, but at least the show got a good last episode with not that big cliffhanger (like in Alcatraz).
I suggest give it a try, watch the pilot and the 2nd episode. If you do not like it after that, don't watch the show. If you do, watch it. It is not a waste of time.
Good. 7/10
Do you want to turn off your head in the evening?
Then watch this movie.
I got home from a 3-day-long music festival and it was perfect, watching this movie. NOTHING new in it with many action scenes - but thats a little bit the problem: If you watch a movie with nothing new, and even there are many action scenes in it - but all of that action scenes are like "Hej I 've already seen that" its getting boring.
The plot:
The president is a double, he's evil and our heros have to kill him. And because he's evil he wants the world-domination. And if they don't then the "president" is gonna blow up the world with a super-duper-mega weapon. Just like Brain. From Pinky and Brain
First of all: Pompeii felt like a little bit like „Gladiator“ with Russel Crowe, but more than in a bad way.
If you gonna watch this movie, you get good special effects , and a bad story line with some plot holes. You already might know at the beginning of the movie, how it is gonna end - you at least gonna guess the middle „game“ of this Hollywood production.
And I feel a little bit bad for movies which have a bad story. You put millions of millions of Dollar$ into the special effects, production, actors and you put a fast-food story line in it? Why!?
.-/
Paul W.S. Anderson used the special effects too much. In those scenes, where the action is going on, the cuts were not the very best. He want to put so much action in it, that you might get a little bit confused - at least I got a little bit confused during watching.
And since I do not want to spoiler too much: a special scene where a character is dying… come on: You possible can not put more pathetic bullshit in it - can you?
Pompeii or is it spelled Pompeji (?) is getting 6 out of 10 trakt hearts. It is okay to watch this movie, if you want to turn your brain off for ~1.5 hours, but not worth to watch it a second time.
After watching 8 episodes from the first season I have to say, I like it so far.
I am a fan of Dorian, his character is well written and he is really fun to watch.
I hope that this TV show is getting a better development. So far, there is only some case solving, and go to the next case. The duration where the characters are properly introduced should be over, so there is far enough room for a bigger story.
So my hope is that the writers gonna do that. And they have to do that quick. Because even if I like the show, I am really no fan of that "closed" episodes and move on to the next action - based - 45 minutes - solving - case ...
If they don't, I think it will only be a show which I watch next to surfing on my iPad or doing something else - that would be a shame.
Currently I give Almost Human a "fair" rating. 6 out of 10 points with the hope that it will develop for e.g. like Fringe - where it was almost a case-to-case solving in the beginning, but getting into a great story after the first season.
If you gonna watch this show, you will gonna laugh. And cry.
A mother, a wife, simply a women who cares about her job as a teacher, and she cares about her family gets to know, that she's got cancer.
At the beginning of the first season, it reminded me a little (!) bit of Desperate Housewives. Not that bullshit thing with the gossip and all, but she's so self-sacrificing to her job and her family, and then she finds out that she's got cancer and have to change her live. She seems to be strong, taking adventures and giving a shit about her marriage and her kid, but that changes.
The Big C isn't only a show about a woman that knows she is gonna die. There isn't "death around every corner". It's fun to watch, because there are so many funny scenes in it. Some bullshit she (and the other characters) are doing. Even in bad or sad situations you gonna have to laugh because of some quotes like: "He isn't a asshole, he is the whole ass!"
And in some episodes you have to cry because it is simply REALLY very sad whats happening… and I am no guy who cries a lot. I only can remember to cry because of a show and that was "Lost". I talked to a friend about this show, and I told him that I had to cry and his answer was: "You wouldn't have a heart, if you haven't cried to that."
The actors are good. I have a deep respect for Laura Linney (as Cathy) for playing her role sooo good, her son Adam also was good, and most of the time I liked the music they have used, e.g. that song: http://youtu.be/CY-T0uZFv8k
But I think it's good that the show didn't got extended to a whole 4th season. It's just okay that way, and I am happy that there is a proper ending.
So if you want to watch a show, which isn't only about action or happypappyeverywhere… give "The Big C" a chance, and I really think you won't regret it.
I am very happy, when a movie is gonna surprise me.
In this case exactly that happened - but I don't want to put spoilers here.
What I can say is, that you definitely should watch this movie. There are wonderful pictures of the country, good acting of all actors and actresses. The introduction of the characters do not take that long and you will not get bored this movie, because it is exciting. I was not aware that the islands of Hawaii are that beautiful. It reminded me of some sceneries of Harry Potter and / or Lord of the Rings.
Trakt says, that it is a action movie... well I would say that is kind of true but it is more a thriller that an action movie. When I read action movie, I always thinking of big explosions and such stuff.. That is something that is not gonna happen here.
What I did not like was the backflash which took place to explain some things. One the one hand, if you watched it attentively you do not need that long backflash, because you already know what is gonna happen, and on the other hand I don't like backflashes as an instrument to explain things. There are other ways to do this.
Well I give it 7 out of 10 points.
I just watched the first episode and I have to say: not bad .
I am happy to see Gillian Anderson back on the TV screen again. She did a great job in the X Files in die late 80's early 90's and never have been a bad actress. Most of the other actresses and actors are unknown - at least to me.
The pilot was exciting to watch, no long and lame stretching scenes in it. I really hope that goes on that way, and will not miserably fail like in "Last Ressort" (the TV Show with the submarine...bla bla). And I can not help myself but the plot with children of powerful people taken, including the son of the President of the United States - just reminds me a little bin of "24". Maybe those "links" to that TV shows are not the best, but I can not help myself.
Said that, I like the technology-nerdy-part which seems pretty realistic. This new show has a great potential, and if it continues like the pilot, I am happy to watch it.
At the moment it is a "good" show, so 7 out of 10 hearts.
You gonna have to know that I am not a big fan of Vince Vaughn for no special reasons. Sometimes you like actors, sometimes not.
So I watched this movie with the prejudice, that it would be some stupids Hollywood comedy production, where all his kids are following him everywhere, making trouble and so on.
It was a pleasant surprise, that this was not the case! Honestly I was enjoying this movie. Vince Vaughn's acting was not so bad (well that was a surprise), and the writers of this movie really got a little bit into, how it is like to be the father of hundreds of kids and they developed a whole different story of what I did expected.
Trakt says it is a comedy - well kinda it is a comedy movie, but not a crappy, stupid one. I give this movie 7 out of 10 Trakt hearts because it was good; but not worth watching a second time.
So if you have nothing else to do in the evening, watch it and you will not regret it at all if you want to have "okay" comedy entertainment with some deeper thoughts in it. =)
„A pair of childhood friends and neighbors fall for each other’s sons.“
I read this, and I thought: "W...what?"
The movie is based on a book called "The Grandmothers" and after watching this movie, I regret that I have read the book, because usually books are more intense that movies.
And this movie is intense!
The plot a little bit more explained:
Two mothers having two sons. All of them are living next to the beach as neighbors and friends. And they fall in love with each others sons.
It is something like a romantic movie with many drama-scenes in it. Usually I am not into romantic movies, because of all the Hollywood bullshit getting released. But this movie is far away from this "genre".
The acting from all four actors and actresses is amazingly good . Especially from Naomi Watts and Robin Wright! Awesome!
You also get stunning pictures, and a great atmosphere when watching this movie. Not all is said with words, many things with pictures. The acting is so good, that you also get a sense what they are feeling at the moment, and you get sucked in, in this crazy atmosphere.
Give it a try, I don't think you gonna regret it!
I watched this movie, because the plot seemed to be good. Young kinds breaking into homes of celebrities, getting some stuff and party out there for a little bit. "Why not?" - was my thought. A plot I have never seen... That might be interesting.
A shit.
I had to use the "fast forward" key, because many of the scenes repeated and were really boring. Boring ... boring ... boring ...
All of the cast reminded me in some way of a bad version of the Skins UK characters. With "bad" I mean, that their play is much more worse than in the great Skins - TV Show. In Skins, those young adults, are far more realistic, that those guys in that movie. What a shame.
The only fun thing in this movie (for me) was, as they broke in into the house of Paris Hilton. She is one of the celebrities I don't like at all ... so all this ugly things what the guys found ... this was realistic to me ... hahaha!
And at the beginning of the movie, there was the hint that this movie is based on true events. I am curious what was really true in this movie.
4/10
Wow! That movie was a pleasant surprise!
I watched this movie, because I like zombie movies, and I like Nicholas Hoult: especially in the TV Show Skins he was really good. By the way he also played the young boy in About A Boy with Hugh Grant; if I am not mistaken.
So... two good points to watch a movie.
This movie isn't a standard-zombie movie: Zombies moving slow (or fast^^) to eat the people which are alive and are much more less in number and that 90 minutes long.
The movie starts with the perspective how its like to be a zombie. You got "friends", you have to eat something, you got problems with your skin, you don't really like to be dead... and then you fall in love with a girl. And why that? Because you were eating the brain of her boyfriend and so you get the memories of him. Haha!
But the problem is: you are dead, so you are not very attractive. And the girl is hot. And alive. Hm! :D
And so the story goes on. With some action scenes and it is a big love story! But you cannot compare it to Twilight. Twilight is shit compared to this movie.
There are so much funny scenes in it. I got to laugh many times. The action parts are good as well!
So if you are into zombie movies you definitely gonna like this, because it is something which you 've never seen before in this Sub-Genre. Enjoy it and have some fun! =)
Hej guys,
I just finished watching the show, and my two cents: watch it. Here is why:
The main characters. Clarita, her husband and her daughter are living in a small town. Their neighbors are a bad ass cop, and a funny weed smoking good cop. The setting reminds me a little bit of Desperate Housewives.
They are a nice family but suddenly something changes. Clarita has no pulse, her body is cold. She cannot eat regular food. She is undead. The family to get through this together - in a funy way.
Can't say too much, because I do not want to spoiler anything. But its rly fun to watch, for example when she is eating a foot like a snack, or drinking a Smoothy.. but instead of fruits... its human flesh. I like the way they try to treat it as normal.
All characters are played well. I just don't really like her husband. I won't say its bad acting (well it is not the best), but something is wrong with this guy. It does not feel right. Even the boy next door feels more authentic than her husband. Thats rly the only downside of this TV show I can't find.
I wouldn't call it a Zombie TV Show, because there are so many Zombie movies and TV shows out, and it is very different to what I have seen so far of this "genre" ... if u want to call it like that.
If you are looking for a fun comedy show, which is also a little bit weird and crazy:
Go for it. Have fun!
7/10
The problem which I got with this movie is, that you some scenes are really not necessary. There are soooo many long-breathed scenes in it, where I asked myself if the director and or writers had some problems to get to the length of a full movie.
They tried to do some twists in the movie, but I only got surprised one time really - so there they did a bad job with it. They tried it so much, that I got disappointed like "Srsly? Another "Uh you might be the terrorist - thing?" -.-
Since this is an airplane - movie I have to say that in "Flightplan" they did a far better job to "build up" tension and keeping it (or maybe it is just me because I like Jodie Foster really much).
It is not a waste of time watching it, but it also is not one of the best movies of 2014 till now. ...
= = = = = = = = = = = =
= = = Spoiler ahead = = =
= = = = = = = = = = = =
The best scene in my opinion is the landing scene of the airplane, and that was worth watching it. Harrr :)
This movie is so strange. And good.
I have never seen the "romance - part" of a movie in such weird way. The action scenes are good, the animated objects (I do not want to spoiler too much) are really scary.
The bad side of the movie is, that there are so many plot holes . We watched the movie together and a friend mentioned that the writers and / or the director was a little bit lazy, because how they things explained (with back flashes) could be also explained in other ways. The plot holes are pretty clear, but it did not really matter - because the story is good, the movie is entertaining that the plot holes are not that disturbing. There are some twists in this movie, which might catch you with surprise. And thats something I really like about movies when I get caught of guard.
So if you want to watch a little bit strange movie, which is entertaining, a little bit scary, with some romance in it which is not kitschy but honest you should watch this movie.
I give it a rating of 8 points, it is a great movie, worth watching a second time with friends.
:-)
I give this movie a rating of 10 trakt.tv - hearts because everyone should watch this movie, so it get uprated as hell - and I hope when you watch this movie, you gonna up rate it as well. Please!
I was aware that Orcas are highly evolved animals and that they have a high social bonding to each other. You and me read this properly plenty of times somewhere else. But this movie shows how high that social behavior is reality and how intelligent are those whales. One picture is more worth than thousands of words... When you watch this movie you gonna realize this.
And the movie shows how cruel it is, that "we" keep this intelligent beings in captivity. It its not moral that the human mankind is doing that, because just we are capable of doing this. It is simply unacceptable as hell! I cannot point that out too much!
Those fun parks like SeaWorld should really release those whales, but as long as people are going there to see that show, as long as entry is paid and the money flows - I am afraid nothing is gonna happen.
On the other side I have to admit, that people are able to see those whales in captivity - and see how beautiful they are and get an awareness that we have to look after our oceans. But is it worth to distress those whales?
I do not think so.
Go! Watch it! Get your own opinion.
I am not sure what I have just seen.
Was it a Teenie movie?
Was it a Vampire movie?
What happened with this happy end? ^^ (hej that is no spoiler, it was pretty clear that it is a happy - end movie) ^^
What I can say it was definitely more a "Girlie" movie, than a movie for guys. So much make-up stuff, so much girlie talk, too much romance in the perspective of a girl. Even in the Twilight movies more action is going on; The movie was in some way confusing, because I did not know why the characters are reacting the way. Why the girls get into a fight on each other - because the reason why they did this, was not really logic.
So it was a little bit disappointing, because the first 15 minutes or something were good. But after that the movie got much more worse .-/
I did not wasted my time watching this movie, because in some way it was entertaining; but I am never gonna watch it again. Vampire Academy (or you could name it Vampire High School haha) gets 4 out of 10 trakt hearts because it was poorly written. In my opinion at least.
This was a nice movie, which I enjoyed a lot.
If you expect an action based movie: It is not. And that is good. I have seen enough of that world ending movies with an high budget, endless explosions and animation and a poor plot. As u maybe already read in the description, some college friends came together on the country side, and the world is gonna end but that is not the reason why they got there - they came there for other reasons. So no panic travel to the countryside.
They are all intellectual, they wanna resolve problems, they do not panic, they smoke some weed (but not in a stupid way), they are emotional in an interpersonal way: They are realistic! It felt the way, that would be a scenario how my friends and I would behave in such a weird situation that the world is gonna end.
Well I have to say that it isn't a low budget production, but it felt that way kinda. The acting of all characters were pretty good, the pictures not that amazing. You will not get bored so you maybe have to skip some scenes. The dialogues are not the very best.
If you like this movie, I suggest you also should try this one (which is better by the way).
I read the plot and there was the eye catcher daydreams in it.
Who does not day dream - at least I do sometimes in the park on a sunny afternoon - and that is why I watched the movie. I expected a movie where a completely different world is building up, kind of Cloud Atlas . And that was my expectations of this movie.
Well if you were thinking the same, you might get disappointed like I did, because The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is much different than the already mentioned movie.
I do not want to spoiler to much here, but the movie start with the day dreams, and after some time you really know what is gonna happen next, no even know how it is gonna end - about 20 minutes after the beginning.
The acting is average (it is a Ben Stiller movie - what do u expect^^), the pictures are nice sometimes, and you might get a few laughs - but not that many.
What a pitty! because the movie and the plot would have so great potential in it, which is simply not gonna be used here. :-(
That is the reason I give it only 6 out of 10 Trakt hearts.
I had no idea how funny this show is. ^^
It was running in our public TV for some time, and one day I watched one of the episodes and there were so many laughs in it - and also some sexyness ;)
Even I never was a big fan of Scrubs and especially of the caretaker which is played by Neil Flynn, I have to admit I even like this character in The Middle. All of the characters are so different and good written. Not the very best, but good!
Sue would drive me crazy, and I think everyone knows a character like her. Axel the is the already mentioned sexyness factor, but not only that - he's also very funny and has some amazing jokes. Mike, the father who usually doesn't smile that much and Frances - a mum how a mother should be ... kind a ;) Not to forget Brick - which is the youngest but he is the one who makes me laugh the most whisper: the most ^^
I recommend to give this show a try, because you will get many laughs, and it is very easy to watch. No bigger story around - just for relaxing when you got home from university.
Go, Hecks, go! :)
I really was looking forward to watch this show, but after watching the first two episodes I have to say that in my opinion the most important part of this show is that all the actors and actresses look very handsome and beautiful.
It feels like a little bit of Dawson’s Creek with Aliens :-)
Well that comparison is not the best of course, but that was the feeling I got after watching 15 minutes of the first episode. A better comparison would be Roswell - but Roswell was far much better. The whole feeling of that show was better:
I don’t think I spoiler to much here but the plot is pretty weak, not to say bad:
After ten years on earth alien teenagers have to go to high school. They call it an integration program, I call it a weak plot. Because there it is easy to make a TV Show based on love-drama, high school nerds with high school bullies and high school problems. And Aliens. Haha!
Seriously!? Think about it :D
I cannot understand why this show got a rating of 83% at the moment!
That is just crazy.
It is poor, very poor. 4 out of 10 trakt
I never heard about this movie. I just stumbled over it, because I found a suggested trailer.
And that was a trailer which was interesting - so I gave the movie a try and did not regret it.
The concept is fresh - or it is just me because I have not seen something like this before. The (strange) teacher is making mind games with his pupils, and you gonna see what they are thinking.
They all want to survive, they are all well educated and they all want to rebuild mankind's civilization, after many nuclear bombs are falling down from the sky. But they are something about 20 people, and only ten get into the bunker to take shelter - so they have to decide who will not get it. That is the main plot.
This might sound boring, but it was not. It was really nice to see how they react to some different situations. And I did not get bored, because they rebooted the mind game too often.
What I did not like was, that the ending was pretty obvious. At least for me not that big surprise.
I suggest you gonna watch this movie - because it is "nice" to do it and no waste of time. :D
I never had such a big problem with rating a movie - but Ender's Game is really hard to rate.
It feels strange that a kid is taking the control over a whole fleet. But on the other side I am happy to see new plots. If you change the character of Ender to an adult, you get a plot seen plenty times, because it is just the way of an underdog, working his way up and getting a leader and fighting a big battle.
Kids making the military stuff like "Sir this, Sir that", saluting etc.
Those are things, what kids shouldn't doing - at least in our society. But maybe it only feels strange to me, because I am an adult. Who knows.
Don't slap me, but in my mind I always compared it with http://trakt.tv/movie/wargames-1983 ... For sure a completely different plot - but there is also mankind future on stake in the hand of a kid. But in this movie it feels right. In Ender's Game not. The explanation why kids are doin' this, is just not enough explained or too weak.
Anyway I love the special effects, I like the characters and actors. I never got bored watching this movie - and this is what I expect from a movie. Not getting bored. The end wasn't really the big surprise and a little bit weak - but I don't want to spoiler here
Definitely a movie I am gonna watch a 2nd time.
7/10 hearts
As I watched the trailer to this new show I was very happy that there is a new Science Fiction show out now.
The trailer was good so I watched the pilot yesterday.
Well I gonna admit, I was a little bit disappointed. The only character I really liked was the scientist with the blonde hair which character also had a LITTLE bit sense of humor in it. Of course it is no comedy show, but all the other characters fell so strange. The security guy, the military guy, the brother... nah...
Yay you can shitstorm me and say "Hej this was only the pilot" but when I compare it to a other Science Fiction Show like Fringe the pilot was far much better... Oliver, Peter, the background story of Walter ...
I really hope that those characters are getting a FAR better development.
Said that, maybe this show develops which I missed in The Walking Dead: At the first season they went to the CDC building ... and there was a small hope to counter the virus. Nothing happend and they just try to survive with no solution. Maybe in this show the plot is much more different - at least I hope so.
Lets see how the first season continues...
In my opinion, the movie is something between "fair" and "good".
Yah, the story is not the very best. It is not very deep, there are not many surprises in that movie, and you gonna predict in the beginning, what is the highest possibility how it is gonna end.
And I usually don't really like those kinds of movies.
And I also don't like Will Smith a lot.
But. Not all movies need many different story lines (like in Cloud Atlas) and big surprises so its gonna okay to produce such stuff. It is more important to me, that I do not get bored. Well, and it didn't happened in After Earth.
The animations are okay - not the best… that creature looked terrible bad. More than a monster than an alien… and that in a Science Fiction movie. We got horror movies for that stuff^^.
The Science Fiction part doesn't come to short anyways, not toooooo much action all the time.
What was really annoying was that military behaviour. All that saluting and to say "Sir" to his father. Bla!
It's okay to watch that movie, chillin' at home with some friends… so give it a try.
So it is not a horrible movie, and I do not understand the bad ratings here.
Puh.
Under The Dome.
The pilot / first episode was good. And I like the main plot about the "Dome". But it takes sooo long until the main plot moves on in the episodes. From episode three to seven all they get is some hysteric fits. And those hysteric fits are only getting four people. That is not the way the mystery part should move on THAT SLOW.
For sure I am aware of that the story is also about the people, who are Under The Dome, their secrets and behavior. And as they are all having secrets (it seems like it), you can put endlessly plots in that TV - show.
Is that really necessary or is it just bad written?
It would have soooo much more potential.
And what about this "Junior" character. Haha. He locks Angie away for some DAYS and gets away with it? No real problems? ... Well I guess it is bad written.
The only reason why I watch this show is to get to know, whats up the that dome. And that shouldn't be the reason when watching that show. Because the other plots are really bad - at least most of them.
