This is the only UK show in history that was copied in the US and the US version was great and the UK version was mediocre at best. I gave this show more chances that I should have.
Ends on cliff hanger. Starts new ep. 5 minutes in its good. next 40 minutes its quite disappointing. Ends on cliff hanger. Repeat.
Can't believe people are bashing this show already. Give it a chance, it won't be the same as TWD in one episode.
Best adaptation of Sherlock Holmes ever. Even better than BBC's Sherlock (it lacks the drug abuse and 'unethical' practices from the detective. It's too "politically correct", it's somewhat annoying). Now if you think I'm on the wrong show posting this, either you didn't watch House MD, or you don't know Sherlock Holmes...
Wow wow Wow! !! !!!
I can not believe I just started this show and it is out for some years now.
This show is sooooo amazing. I am addicted ! :)
Ok someone has to say it, the goofy dancing, the serious faces, the music ... those title credits are the best of every episode ... I love them!
The CW network attempts to simulate mystery with depth, unfortunately it didn't work. Bad teen dramas are bad teen dramas, but, at least the kids get to practice acting — maybe with luck they’ll even get skilled at it... or be in something with talented writers. If not, they'll wind up as yesteryear's teen actors playing parents, teachers, coaches and law enforcement officers in future mediocre CW teen dramas like the token adults in "Riverdale".
Enjoyed it as a kid, but tried watching again as an adult, and it wasn't that great as I remember it. Tastes change over the years.
I honestly thought this was going to fail, but it is entertaining as hell. Angela Bassett as a badass cop is just pure gold.
Modern Family does what's best in comedy: subtle awkward situations that make you laugh uncontrollably, even though if someone sees the same scene as you, they will never get why and how it's funny. You can't judge Modern Family based on some episodes seen sporadically, no, you'll have to go from the start and watch all of it, for the comedy to become apparent to you.
this is why planet earth is a failure. fuck it im moving to mars
do people really hate them because they had plastic surgery? grow up, if you don't like it just don't watch it. I love watching always funny and great entertainment.
I have to agree that this appears to be on par with what the CW puts out. I was hoping for a thrilling murder/abduction investigation. What I gleaned from the first episode is that this is a half-hearted attempt at bringing to light the presence of human trafficking. Unfortunately, there's just too many glaring holes in the reality of it all.
Unlike many others here I have never even heard of the movie with the same title. I found this accidentally through twitter and thought, "huh lesbians and I recognize some actresses so I guess I should watch it". But man, oh man!!! I did not expect to like it this much?? It actually has a good plot which is shocking to be quite honest! Also, people are complaining about it being woke because there are lesbians while so many TV shows have only straight people, and no one bats an eye. C'mon now, let us have one show with lesbian leads! It's still extremely rare to find a show with so many lesbian characters and with lesbian protagonists...
Anyways, this show made me want to learn how to play baseball :^) Great A+++ show, funny as hell, emotional, and still manages to hit some relevant topics about racism, sexism, and homophobia. I truly hope it gets renewed for another season!!
Fantastic show, though I don't agree with people who say it's better than Breaking Bad. I guess you could argue that it's more masterfully crafted and put together, but Breaking Bad is still infinitely more compelling IMO. There's no contest. The final two seasons of Better Call Saul are the only ones that I'd personally put on the same level as Breaking Bad. Still, it was a fantastic show and I highly recommend it.
My favorite crime show on TV. The acting is superb and, thankfully, there is not a lot of forensic stuff going on. 10/10
Is it just me and the place I am in life at the moment or does this show have a lot of emotional story lines?
I know some shows have always tried to have one or two story lines that tackle difficult issues but Boy Meets World seems to be full of them.
JAG is the kind of show you need to take with a grain of salt. The emphasis is much more on entertainment then on accuracy or believability. They were throwing out some really wild stories. At its best it's good entertainment but it does resort to bad comedy or even soap opera style every now and then. My younger me liked the show a lot when it aired but having seen it now in its entirety I must say that espcially the later parts are not that good. I would say out of all episodes there were maybe five that were really gripping. One thing that is mind blowing is the staggering amount of continuity errors in the action footage. They just took whatever shot they needed or wanted and cobled them together not even caring that at times it wasn't even of the same modell of plane. But, like the producers, it doesn't seem to have bothered the audience. Still, I found it irritating.
David James Elliot was perfect for this role. He had something of a Tom Cruise / Maverick vibe yet a more adult version. When it comes to the female protagonist it went from great to worst. I loved Andrea Parker, still liked Meg Austin but never liked Catherine Bell. And that is true for the respective characters as well.
The longevity of the show has its pros and cons. They were able to build up good charcter arcs but the longer it went the more it felt they didn't know what to do with them any more. And that starts and stops with our main characters.
It was fairly obvious what would happen in the end and the fact they danced arround that part for basically nine seasons made it frustratingly tiresome. You can only do so much back and forth before it becomes a nuisance. Plus, they never really had great chemistry. It never felt natural. So by that account I wasn't really thrilled with the end or the final two seasons alltogether.
I wouldn't say the show as a whole is a waste of time but at a count of 227 episodes you need what the Germans call "Sitzfleisch". There is no translation for this but it means to have the stamina to see something through to the end.
The only cop show with so called upright law enforcers that can continuously commit criminal acts without any fear of prosecution. They can do whatever felony they wanna do.
“There’s more to life than making shallow, fairly obvious observations.” "Seinfeld" makes a pretty convincing argument that that's all you need. Easily one of the most well written sitcoms ever released. Seinfeld is truly a show about nothing. It brings to life Jerry Seinfeld's and Larry David's unbelievable (and somewhat useless) powers of observation. "Seinfeld" follows 4 quirky and eccentric friends living in Manhattan as they get themselves and others into a whole mess of trouble. Jerry is a stand up comic dating his way through New York City. Elaine works at a publishing company as she looks for Mr. Right. George is the literal reincarnation of Larry David with a plethora of neurosis and his insane, but genius ideas. Kramer is Jerry's overly intrusive neighbor. He can only be described as Kramer. There will never be another.
The jokes are perfectly layered and everything builds on what happened earlier in the episode. It's incredible that they were able to come up with so many per season. Despite the 9 seasons, the show is strong all the way through. Larry David left the show after season 7. The pressures of coming up with comedy gold got to him. Jerry did an admirable job of continuing without him. The transition was seamless and nearly unnoticeable. Some say that George lost a bit of depth, but I'd be hard pressed to see it.
The one negative that sticks in everyone's mind, is the ending. It's a heard scratcher. Left a lot of people confused. That being said, the ending was never particularly relevant to a show like this. No one came for the ending. Enjoy the ride.
“I’m out there, Jerry. And I’m loving every minute of it!”
10/10
... these pretzels are making me thirsty!
Try's to be an adorable reboot and instead feels like a half-hearted cash grab drowning in nostalgia. Jokes are nearly always a miss, the kids can't act that well, and there wasn't nearly enough John Stamos.
Starts poorly. If it wasn't for its immense popularity, I wouldn't have given it another go; and I am so glad I did, because somewhere in season 2 or starting with season 3 it became very good. This is a great sitcom with no weak season (besides the first one or two). There is no drop in quality anywhere, and it ends well.
If I had to choose between Seinfeld and Friends, I'd always go Seinfeld.
People hollering about how bad this show is, how silly it is, how the "plot" does not make any "sense" anymore... seriously? When has it ever??? I am still enjoying this ride and will for as long as it will last, given there have been episodes that were just plain awful - except for the music - but hey that's natural, super natural...
dad's on a hunting trip.................................................... and he hasn't been home in a few days....................................................
I didn't realize Shaggy was the black guy until reading a review after watching. He was changed too much I think.
