Bill & Ted Face the Music

This movie has no right being as excellent as it is. I freakin loved it!

This past weekend I watched both Excellent and Bogus for the first time. Face the Music takes the very best parts of both earlier movies and combines them in a truly spectacular way while leaving the weaker moments of both prior movies in the past.

At just a hair over 90 minutes, Face the Music never seemed boring. The pacing of the film and overall progression of the story was very well done. Next sentence contains minor spoilers The ending was really REALLY outstanding and had me tear up a little bit when everything got resolved.

I'm gonna compare this in one way to Jurassic World and Jumanji. These two movies and Face The Movies are sotra 'sequels that nobody asked for' situations that turned out far better and more enjoyable than I think anyone anticipated.

Contains just the right amount of off-the-wall situations without going *completely off the rails (like some parts of Bogus). Takes the world building of the original and ads a modern twist.

Also, It was just awesome to see the time traveling sequences with modern graphics

House of Wax

6.5/10 rounded up to seven.

I remember watching this movie when it came out.

I don't watch a lot of horror or slasher movies, but this movie was very enjoyable. I really appreciate how they took to time to introduce the audience to the characters.

Setup, story, progression of events were all well done. There are some very cool artistic moments that could have been cheesy but I appreciated them.

I would absolutely recommend this movie to watch, even if you're not the biggest horror / slasher movie fan.

The Babysitter

NO-SPOILER REVIEW

I absolutely loved this movie. Samara Weaving is absolutely brilliant, and the entire first third of the movie feels like a kinda-okay teen babysitting movie, but then you realize it isn't. And then ten thousand wild things happen all at once.

This movie is PERFECT at 85 minutes long. It's one of the shortest recent movies I've seen, but what it does in this short time-frame is very tight. The pacing from the opening to the end credits is absolute perfection.

The ending is absolutely phenomenal and I very highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a journey, and be shocked or surprised as to where that journey led.

House

[100% SPOILER FREE review]

-edit: massive photosensitivity warning: there are just.... all of the flashing color-alternating light stobelight effects throughout the entire movie

House is a visual triumph. it is a bizarre conglomeration of visual and musical bizarreness that you will do well to put at the top of your viewing list.

i am a massive fan of the sub-90 minute movie genre and this is absolutely stunning. a film that has visuals at the forefront, it's an incredible feat which was made over 45 YEARS AGO

if you are of the ... (legalized)drugs persuasion, partake and watch. it is a spectacle unlike anything i've ever seen before.

I really liked this movie.

I'm gonna be as vague as I can possibly be here, but if you decide to watch it, stop watching the movie at the 1:50:56 mark and let that be the end of the movie for you.

the actual end of the movie sucked! It's a world-ending disaster movie. You don't need to ruin the whole film with a happy, everything is going to be back to normal vibes at the end. a complete waste

it was just okay.

I think it was hyped up too much, the storyline was good though

It Follows

It Follows is definitely one of the best movies that has ever been created. 11/10 This movie transcends anything I could have ever expected. It is absolute perfection.

It's the whole entire package: Cinematography, musical score, pacing, visual framing, originality, (soft spoiler) twists, and everything from the casting, costumes, actors, just overall the tightness of the story... this remains the most psychologically disturbing movies I've ever see in my life.

This movie affected my mental well-being for two solid months after watching it. It's terrifying.

Disasterpiece did an overwhelmingly excellent job on the musical score, and the actors brought this movie to life.

There are no spoilers in this review, just know that I saw this movie FOUR TIMES in theaters when it came out.

I'm not NOT a horror movie type of person, but It Follows fucking changed me as a human being.

You must watch this movie for yourself. It's incredible.

Mulan 2020 has awful reviews.

They are all wrong.

Granted, the first half of the movie is just 'okay', but the SECOND HALF, I loved every minute of it.

The rest of this review is spoilers, so go away.

so the whole Forbidden City part of the movie, after the avalanche was fucking awesome. I think I said aloud "Beatrix Mulan Kiddo" because the action on the second half is freaking awesome. ALSO, the Emporer is actually a fucking badass. The film resolves very well with the intro, and musical queues were on point.
