This movie was desperately seeking an Oscar. It has everything so beautiful that it feels fake. The music is great and the story is good too but what happened to all the social disturbs that were happening and that Motown just avoided? If they had included that part this movie would have been amazing. Jennifer Hudson is an amazing singer and actress, she deserved the Oscar she won.
First episode or two are a bit too arch/twee in tone, but the cast keep it watchable. Then their chemistry deepens as it goes along, and the show finally blossoms when Blackbeard fully enters the picture. Second half of season feels like the show finds itself in full, so continuously fun and inventive. And that penultimate episode is just flat-out great; the season has been building to that point all along, but I still haven't expected to feel knocked out by how real, sad, and romantic the whole episode is. Damn.
The name is LO IMPOSIBLE. Why you must change the original name? It was filmed in english, but still, the name is "Lo Imposible", in spanish, just like the real-life family.
Bless Jessica Chastain we don't deserve her
Great acting performances, but they didn't have much to work with. The characters had honestly almost zero overall depth, the story was nothing original really, and the ending was too inconclusive for my liking.
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT
Callum’s a lil b and a low budget Isuldur.
Dope ref though, they know what they’re doing.
Don't do this to me akghjaghejoe;ija not okay
I'm not sure it hit me on the emotional level as it was intented, either because I feel Sayid was uninteresting for me since season 4, and Sun and Jin were also stuck on the level of "Where is he?/Where is she?" for 2 seasons now, which was faithful to their characters, but made them a bit boring. And Frank.. I can't even say anything about Frank. See where I'm going? I'm sad to see all of them gone, but it didn't hit me on the level as I think they wanted to. It nice to see Jack to find his faith though, even makes me nostalgic about the time he and John were arguing. Glad to see the circle coming full.
Huge spoiler alert in this comment but, and I'm definately not the first person to say this but; I feel like Zaheer tieing Korra up and poisoning her, and indeed all her tramatic experiences with Iman refrences sexual assualt. The way she talks about it afterward "I had no control", obviously strongly suggests. The ritual way in which they do is very real and scary for a kids show.
The best part of this episode is seeing how powerful Korra really is. Her firebending is amazingly strong because she has so much aggression and Zaheer is such a little pest in his fighting style.
This series has become such a chore to watch. It has neither AtLA's charm nor magic, and I do expect it to be this completely different story set in a different age. However, I really cannot get on board due to Korra's unsympathetic character and the drama with "ThE nEw TeAm AvAtAr". A lot of the frames are noticeably sloppily done too. Anyway. I really love Jinora! I did not expect her or any of Tenzin's kids to play such a big role. I love how Tenzin despite being hurt is still so proud of his little girl. Aang's descendants are my favorite part of the show this season.
Love it- have it- watch it over and over again. Drew Barrymore has done an amazing job delivering one of the best feel-good movies ever! And of course: it couldn´t have been any one but Ms Page portraying Bliss. Go Pisces!
what can I say, I enjoy it when Jim gets what’s coming to him.
★★★★★☆☆
Winona's character completely ruins this for me.
Half of an episode just to build up Sky and Bloom having s3x :skull:
Love this show! Stede and Ed. Jim and Oluwande. Black Pete and Lucius. They really have something here. S2 can’t wait!
Came for the nostalgia, what I got was the pin-up for rape culture. This movie's sole purpose is to objectify women at any chance it gets. There are a few chuckles through out, but they are FEW! Oh and let's not forget to throw a bit of homophobia in there too for good measure.
Nice episode, with a strong finale. What i hate is, they've changed the intro... But they kept the scene with those 2 licking each other over an ice cream. It makes me vomit
