I didn't know who Victor Sams was, but they were one of my suspects. But then I didn't guess who that person actually was :open_mouth:
I still feel the show was better in the early episodes, when the story was more grounded.
I really enjoyed it. Of course a biopic, any biopic, is much more engaging if you want to know about the character portrayed. Maybe I had a bit of an advantage not knowing very much about Tolkien. Just the basic facts that I gathered from some documentary on one of the LOTR bonus discs. I am sure there is some artistic freedom involved and that facts are sacrificed on the altar of drama.
It was interesting to see where the ideas for his stories originated from. I wouldn't have minded some added running time to help adding more depth to certain aspects.
Like everything it is a matter of taste but all things considered one of the better movies I watched this year.
Stupid drama, making me cry.
After all this sadness I seriously hope there's some happy moments ahead. Honestly, if episode 16 is just silly fluff I won't be mad. I'm willing to have things wrap up next episode and for the last one to be an epilogue of just happy, lovey-dovey moments. I can't handle anymore heartbreak and tears.
Really wanted one universe jump where he meets himself as Sherlock Holmes
When they went on the boat, I knew that was his point. I really, really, really wanted to be wrong...
I like the show but sometimes the plot lines are like... "Really?! Are you twelve years old?" I mean Kat who is supposed to be a department head (for social media!!) at a major national magazine just signs away her picture rights without reading the contract and looking for stuff like a morality clause or other stuff that could protect her?
I'm not gonna pretend to understand US politics and the huge debate that is gun control.
But, one of the things I love the most about this show is how open and inclusive it is, and how it always tries to reach that elusive middle ground. It lost a little bit of that this episode with Sutton getting rid of her gun after Jane pushed her.
I get where Jane was coming from, and I'm sure thousands of real life people share her trauma. But Sutton was very open minded and rational about the whole thing and she made valid arguments. I wish the writers would have resolved it differently.
As a bisexual woman, I am shocked at how such a progressive show could fall into the cheating bisexual stereotype while playing a song that uses a cheating bisexual in the music video. Not cool.
I almost feel generous giving it a 3... listen I have no qualms with the story, its supposed to be cheesy, goofy. Its nothing unique and I can honestly sit and enjoy these type of movies and have a good laugh.
Mellisa carries the film but I'm sorry I found Octavias acting in this poor. She was so robotic and awkward and had no life in her whatsoever (my opinion of course) and as I say while Mellisa was the only redeeming factor I feel like even all of her characters are one dimensional and she now just plays the same roles with different tweaks. I do still find her funny but I hope she can branch out into different roles in the future.
I trudged along until the end but neither me or my wife was impressed and just found it poor with only a few laughs here and there (I think a few were forced as we were trying to find SOME humour and not feel like we'd wasted an evening)
Pretty appalling portrayal of the royal tour of Kenya. But then again, I wouldn't ever expect the British media to pass up an opportunity to romanticise and propagandize the monarchy. No doubt the series will continue to do so.
“Sometimes society looks upon people as crazy. It may only mean that they are alienated from their own true natures.”
At what point, putting a mask on the faceless character seems like a good idea to Flora. Holy God Creepy
Am I missing something?
We now know that Liberty was a superhero 40+ years ago, but has Compound V been out there that long? I mean, she was relatively unknown, as if it was a normal thing to have heroes then, but I thought Vought did that in the last 20 something years, Homelander being one of the first huge heroes to get recognition and fame. Did I miss something or does this feel like a bad retcon of sorts?
This season finally picked up the pace!
I really love Darkh as a villain, except for the cliche that he has to kill one of his henchmen or associates every single episode.
When somebody says "Back in an hour" ? You know they won't be, or the other party will be gone.
Diggle is really dumb when it comes to his brother. Can't even see the most obvious traps. At least that drama's almost over, probably after a boring guilt trip in the next episodes.
So the obvious questions. Darhk really had the resources to build that ?? And to do it without anybody realizing ? Does he also have some kind of teleportation device/power ?
The Oliver magic lessons are pitiful. Hope it will not start to work just like that as the trump card against Darhk, that would be pathetic.
Nurse Ratched sat
at her psych ward monitoring station
as if the patients were clothes in
a row of laundromat dryers,
tumbling in crisis.
Most of he crises were her projection.
I'm a fan ...I need more popcorn for the next one LOL.. gotta love the camera work here it's just poetic
There’s a vast disagreement regarding this season on both sides of the spectrum, but in my opinion, I highly enjoyed this season far better than the first, and I didn’t have very many qualms with the first. Character development was better this go around and the interactions between siblings were far more enjoyable, as well. Personally, I felt this was a win for both the cast and writers this season.
Not Elliot! They can hurt anybody except Elliot!
Enjoyed the light supper with Mr. Hargreeves.
That scene with Klaus and Dave was so raw and heartbreaking
"I am Venom. And you are mine."
This is not a superhero movie or a anti-hero film. This is a love story.
It's funny how Tom Hardy has more chemistry with himself than he dose with Michelle Williams.
'Venom' is an absolutely mess of a movie, but there's never a dull moment. The acting from everyone is really bad and the action scenes are poorly filmed. Still, it's fascinating to see a movie that's so all over the place with talented people involved. Hardy climbing into a fish tank is a remarkable sight.
We are Venom? More like we want money.
I don't even know where to begin... EVERYTHING in this episode was FANTASTIC! One of the best episodes in ANY series EVER!
Just experience his:
"Can't save you, Daniel.
I'm sorry.
But I could hold you.
If you'd let me."
There was so much love there.. So much honesty and openness... This is how you make a difference <3
Thank you everyone for giving us Rectify <3
The culmination of all the story pieces on Troy's turn is brilliant. Love this episode.
OMG this last episode was my favorite. That last minute i was cover in tears, Brandy barking and Lisa waiting for Tony say good night..
So emotional..
I love After Life
Jesus H Christ this friggin show. It’s a bloody roller coaster of emotions. Please please please Mr Genius(Gervais) make another season
Tears. I have cried SO much watching this show and the ending of this episode completely broke me. I'm glad Emma showed up, I'm so so glad. She doesn't even know that she literally saved his life. I think it's so good that there is going to be another season. It's very important to tell stories like this. To see how close to death a person can get but how little things and certain people can get you back.
Man, Ricky, you're killing me over here . :sob:
This show is so well made. I'm glad it got renewed for Season 3.
Haha what a twist at the end! There was a beat right before the reveal when I called it. I figured if they were at her place we were going to meet the ex and it must be someone we already know. The cop! Delicious!
Damn that arcade bit was super cute!
Probably spoilerish...
Can someone just hit Steve with a car?! Call it (Car)ma. He's more than deserving, the guy is utterly revolting.
