What a dumb movie. There was some fun acting from Lee and Depp, but the best parts were the references to other movies...
"Thank you for keeping our secret" they said, while she did her utmost best to reveal everything about them for a news story...
Shitty movie: ugly weird looking CGI, bad plot filled with holes and stupidity, shitty dialogue, no character development, useless characters, dumb origin stories etc etc etc. When will Michael Bay quit making movies?
WIll Arnett's bad jokes are probably the best thing about this movie.
That was pretty pointless...
I expected a drama with heavy character development but with a very minimalistic take. At least I got that last part right. Besides the acting (especially by Elle Fanning) this was a waste of time.
The first one was fun, this one was dumb.
This was a waste of time.
Even though this movie has a wonderful setting and some wonderful shots of the raw nature around Cornwall, the story just isn't interesting enough to keep you entertained.
The first part is rather messy with introducing the characters, so when the the story really takes off you have the feeling they skipped over a lot (which they don't.) What happens next is still very predictable and the lack of interesting dialog makes the movie pretty boring.
But they made a good choice with Emily Browning. She has a noteworthy performance with her impressive subtle acting. Being able to show so much (realistic) expression changes and emotional depth proofs how good she can be on the screen. It saves the movie from being a complete waste, and makes you realize how underrated she is as an actress.
I had low expectations, but still I was disappointed. Thank god for eye candy Collins...
Not really interesting. At best a movie to play in the background when having beer with friends.
There is a reason why I don't write movies, it is because it would result in movies like this.
Only 2 or 3 average jokes.
Incredibly boring characters, the way colours and lightning are handled is making the show hideous to look at. I could not finish even the pilot episode. I was not a fan of the movie, although it has some great qualities. Those qualities do not exist in this trash.
This movie looks like it was made by someone still in film school, but on a bigger budget.
The movie is a collection of cliches and poor directing choices from beginning to end. Writing (character, dialogue and plot) is poor, music is off-putting, and does match the atmosphere or is too in your face. Visuals are okay, however questionable editing and directing choices undercut this. Acting is meh at best.
Better to skip this one if you have something else (better) to watch, you won't miss much.
Although this show is a few years old now, I had it on my to watch list bc it sounded worth checking out. I am not even halfway the pilot episode, and this show is already getting on my nerves. Looked like someone was challenged to get every cliché possible crammed into a single episode. And if I have to believe the comments, this is supposed to be one of the BETTER episodes of the first season? xD Hard pass.
Came for Elisha Cuthbert and I was disappointed it only had 6 episodes.
After the pilot I understood why, and I think 6 episodes is even too many. Really bad writing and situational sketching, I feel sorry for the actors who played in this sham.
Felt very awkward and staged. I understand how they wanted a literal translation of the work, but it didn't really work in this case. Couldn't watch it through and turned it off after 1/3 of it.
Boring and uninteresting movie. Some of the action was ok, but not spectacular. Not even Pearce could save it. Not sure why I even finished watching it.
Shitty.
The first one was already bad, but it was unique, fun too watch and had some unique acting and features.
This one is everything the first movie was, without it's positive points and all aspects done a tad worse.
Did this movie have any dialogue written before filming? Because it looks like it was all ad-libbed on the spot. I will give them some credit though, some lines were probably written in the break room on a dirty tissue a few minutes before the shoot.
Everything about this movie is bad, except for maybe the filming equipment. Probably in my top 10 worst movies I ever saw.
Terrible film. I heard it was based on a book, and I am 100% sure it wasn't this bad. So I guess we have to congratulate the screenwriters for doing a really bad job.
As a movie it is one of the worst blockbuster movies I have seen so far. It makes me want to rewatch Cloverfield to make my decision which one is worse, but I can't do that to myself.
Plotholes, bad background information, easy ending, the (ever occuring in bad movies) unrealistic non-anticipation of practically everyone, irrelevant side characters, ignoring the laws of physics and too good to be true coincidences.
If a movie could be rated a 0, this one would get it
Worst movie ever (until now.)
Besides the bit (too) silly song, this episode was a lot of fun. Not too serious, not too high stakes and lots of energy. Perfect for an introduction episode.
It feels like there is missing an episode between this one and episode 10...
As of now the sequels are kind of dead. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10200581345270848&set=vb.152126584847695&type=2&theater;
They are setting the bar high with the events happening at the end of this episode, although a lot of information is still withheld. Hopefully this will result in a fantastic season, and not a massive clusterf. 7 episodes for a whole new balance of power is certainly short, although this might flow over in the 6th and final season
ps. I hope Amos got off earth in time.
This is starting to go somewhere. I hope the return of Jack is more than just a one time cameo.
The time jumps between episodes are way too often and they skip too much time. It is like watching a dramatization of a history documentary, but for a fictional world. It fails to be anything. It is better to watch the last season of GoT than this xD
Interesting and binge-worthy Sci-Fi show.
The best thing about 'Raised by Wolves' is the Ridley Scott (inspired) envisioned visual style. The show looks like it has a decent or big budget, although I could not find any definitive numbers anywhere, and it looks very good as long you are not put off by it's dark and bleak environments.
Storywise it is interesting enough, but it can be somewhat messy, switching between character focus and plot focus, and fails to indulge us more into the depth of characters and philosophy. A lot of ideas, and not a lot of answers. The aim seemed to be to present as much ideas as possible in this first season, to feed off of them later during multiple seasons. It cumulates into a season that was akin to one big pilot episode.
~ This comment was written after season 1. ~
Minus points for killing off Ellen Wong in the first episode.
This season has a massive issue with using too dark filters. So many scenes that are near impossible to see, except for maybe in a pitch black room.
