Enjoyable but incredibly overrated and an absolutely terrible ending.
“I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car,
I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big dumb combat boots, and the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick, it even makes my rhyme.
I hate the way you’re always right, I hate it when you lie,
I hate it when you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry.
I hate it when you’re not around and the fact that you didn’t call
but mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you, not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.“
i can't believe this movie only has a 68% rating it's literally the best movie of all time
this movie is amazing. the cast works so well together and it actually feels real. the other netflix romcoms could never.
paul is so cute. he's a great friend and his relationship with ellie was so fun to watch as it developed. the scene with paul and ellie's dad where the dad's speaking chinese to him was wonderful too. i don't know why it hit me but it did.
the scene where they're in the water was beautiful. this movie is gonna get quoted for years to come, i'm calling it
even though i did ship astra and ellie, the ending was satisfying and actually really cute.
thanks netflix for giving us a cute lesbian (kinda) movie. please continue to make movies like these instead of movies like the kissing booth. sorry not sorry
There are few things I regret as much as I do watching this movie.
I wouldn't recommend this mess of a movie to anyone sane. It's in poor taste, has a bad story, acting. Your really don't need to watch this movie. I am not sure it should be called a movie, more like extreme snuff porn for the twisted and insane. I've seen my fair share of "look how horrible, degrading, stomach-turning I am" movies, but so far nothing came close to this pile of trash.
Conclusion 10/10 great family movie, gather around the TV with your parents, grandparents, kids to watch this carefree, relaxing marvel!
A great theatrical, emotional roller coaster, entertaining, edge of seat kind of film that you love to see about a music icon. This is not your average non fiction story line type film about a celebrity, but a plot twisting story line jumping, action packed roller coaster type movie taking the audience on a hell of a ride about Elvis. The good, bad and ugly. Whether it was too much about his manager taking advantage of him or too much about the attraction fans felt for him or the impact he had in the civil rights movement, it was all very well done as it showed how much of a positive and historical impact he made on the music industry.
Felt happy, felt sad, felt sorry, felt mad! And most importantly, for having watched this movie, felt glad.
Really happy to see that Paramount redesigned Sonic after the trailer came out! :hugging:
I really adore this movie. I don't really care if it's predictable or not. I laughed and I had a great time.
Absolutely superb. The hours Austin Butler must have spent studying Elvis to get every mannerism and nuance spot on does not bear thinking about.
Oscar winning performance for me
There's door we don't do!
Definitely one of the strangest, oddest films I have ever seen. And also definitely one that will stay on my mind, most likely, for the rest of my life. It is sincerely just a perfectly complex piece of art that manages to touch the deepest parts of what it means to be human.
You'll either think it's incredible or incredibly stupid. I'm on board.
That's a movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end.
For some reason this is one my all time favorite movies. I'm usually a sci-fi, action or fantasy movie fanatic. However, this movie just does just gets me every time, and I watch it whenever it come on TV.
What can I say about Titanic. It is is the ultimate love story, the basis for all romance. It is beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time. The saddest part is thinking about all those people in real life who lost their lives that day.
this joins a great list of movies that take famous lyrics to a literal level (done right)
I find it sad that so many people are so narrow-minded that they will not watch a movie that is black and white or, in this case, is subtitled. I feel sorry for people who refuse to watch a movie like Life Is Beautiful just because it is a foreign film. They have no idea what a beautifully acted and directed film this is, and they'll never know what an amazing experience they are missing.
Life Is Beautiful manages to walk the extremely thin line between humor, fantasy, and tragedy. Sure, the film is clearly comedic, but nevertheless it manages to very effectively communicate the tremendous losses suffered in the Nazi concentration camps and has scenes at least as intense as any scene in Schindler's List.
This is one of the best films that I have ever seen. It manages to be so encompassing that you hardly notice the subtitles are even there. I proudly cast my vote of 10.
I'm going to put it simply: There's not a single thing this film does wrong.
The comedy is on point. The drama is on point. The moments of tension are on point. The commentary on social class is on point. Acting, writing, filmmaking—on point.
Parasite totally deserved the Palme D'Or and I want this to win all the Oscars, all the Golden Globes, and any other awards it gets nominated for because everything in this shit was incredibly on point.
Parasite is nothing short of a MASTERPIECE.
This movie is very emotional. Bring a box of Kleenex with you. I have never seen another movie that I could hear the audience cry so many times. Also the movie shines a light on a disease that many people have no idea what it means (including me). If you have seen the trailers you already know that this is a movie about young/first love. I don't want to spoil it with other details.
It is agood movie, but MAN! I hated Richard Williams, he is so maddening that I just wanted him to shut up. I kind of understand why he was like that, after all he suffered a lot. The most comic part was when he told his daughters that one day they'd buy a lot of beds and wouldn't have to share beds with their sisters (and I thought, well if you hadn't had FIVE daughters living with not enough money they wouldn't have had to share beds).
“Smile my boy, it’s sunrise”
RIP Robin Williams, you will always be in my heart. Thank you for everything you've given us.
The reviews for this film are average (at best). The way Robert Downey Jr. delivers his lines is really cringy at times. Not sure what that accent is supposed to be, but it's ghastly.
That said, it's a kids movie with a grown ass man talking to animals. There are kids movies that appeal to adults (with thinly disguised "adult content"). This isn't one one them. Find some kids < 10 and watch the movie. If you don't have any kids around .. do yourself a favour and watch something else.
I'm a sucker for a good impromptu musical number, and there are a couple here. I like that it's a self-aware romantic comedy that doesn't subvert the rules of the rom-com but revels in them.
I just don't understand how or why everyone at work was just laughing at and making fun of her? Like, what are you? 7? Seriously that would never happen at any serious workplace.
It's a solid movie. I liked the survival aspect much more than the romance. Shailene Woodley is great here. The editing between the two timelines was interesting and I thought worked well. The pacing was great, it didn't drag too much and didn't last too long. The cinematography on the boat scenes was really good especially the wreck itself.
It's a good romantic movie. It's an even better disaster movie. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are just perfect together. My Heart will go on is a great song too and I still get chills from it.
Great movie mainly because of the stellar acting by the cast. Wong and Park (also the writers) have actually been friends for years now, and their chemistry is ridiculous.
It has its cheesy and way-too-easily-solved moments but c'mon, it is a romcom after all!
Also: the fact that Keanu Reeves is credit as Keanu fucking Reeves is awesome.
A delightful romcom. I hope Netflix keeps making these type of movies because they are perfect to watch at home but probably wouldn't be a big box office hit. They make you feel happy and are easy to watch. Ali Wong and Randall Park are great together. Keanu Reeves cameo is fantastic.
