Decent enough ending, but I have to be honest, I ended up disappointed in this series overall. I didn't really like the direction it took in the second half and we ended up with a lot of one-dimensional and silly characters by the end.
Pretty much everyone in the cast at one point or another annoyed me with their illogical or silly decisions. It often felt like nobody was actually trying to keep themselves alive.
I certainly hope there will be another season of this, since that episode wasn't a last episode at all and everything is still up in the air.
It's time to get C O M F Y
I have no hesitation in saying this has been the worst KyoAni show I have seen. People were harsh on Tamako Market but that was Citizen Kane compared to this. Thank god it's over now and we can look forward to the likes of Hibike S2 etc.
Not a bad conclusion I suppose. The last few episodes have felt very rushed and a bit disjointed though. Not to say this one would have been better as 24 episodes because I actually don't think it would have been. But I couldn't call it a masterpiece by any stretch.
Oh well, it was worth it just for best girl Nao.
Noooo! Don't hurt poor Shinra! :(
Nyanpassu!
I can't begin to tell you how happy I am that this is back. Pure relaxation, direct dopamine.
The fact that this and Yuru Camp are airing in the same season is an absolute treat. My only concern is whether I can ration these episodes for when I truly need a pick-me-up, which given the state of the world at the moment, is often.
Oh god that was intense, and hurt a lot. 3 seasons and 9 years of build up.
I'm glad that this season Chihaya has finally actually realised how the people around her feel and is actually responding to it. But it hurts to see all these characters I love so unhappy :(
Quite a sweet and well-done ending that bookends the series quite well.
I liked this series but wasn't blown away by it. It felt to me like the middle of the series dragged on a fair amount - I actually wonder if a story like this may have worked better as a movie.
Found the first ep pretty entertaining. I know Isekai shows have been done to death already but hopefully this one will have enough unique ideas to at least be a fun romp. Seems there are a lot of characters still to meet but I did like the Tsundere dragon intro!
Just as I was kinda losing interest they introduce the Naoya/Kou dynamic, which I really enjoyed and wished we could have seen more of.
Fairly cute series overall and certainly more grounded than other recent series' attempts at referencing otaku life. Animation was prety bad at times and of course being an A-1 show they couldn't help but plaster their other shows advertising everywhere (something I'm noticing more and more). Not a masterpiece by any means but if you enjoy the couples you'll get at least some enjoyment out of this one.
Probably the episode where the series finally "clicked" for me. I really enjoyed the banter between the couples, and the cute moments later in the episode.
And as @deanzel says, some great derpy faces this episode. Always the mark of a fun series those.
Oh wow, what a terrible movie this was. I watched this in the cinema with 5 other people and we all hated it.
My main issue is that the characters are unlikable and the story feels completely inconsequential and pointless. From the trailer I was expecting something more akin to AnoHana (e.g. Nazuna dies and he tries to save her by changing the past) or maybe even a bit of Steins;Gate with the reality marble thing, but instead it used for the most mundane, unimportant and inconsequential changes. I kept thinking "there must be more to it than this", but no, the guy basically just wants to go out with the girl and keeps jumping back in time/rewriting reality when things don't go his way. Not exactly high-stakes.
Then there's the fact that the Nazuna just comes across as a brat, rather than the mysterious girl I think they were going for. Again, I kept thinking that there must be more behind her trying to run away from home, but no, she's just being an immature brat. The main guy's friend was awful too, acting like a jealous jerk when he didn't get to go with her to the fireworks (even though you've already seen that given the opportunity, he chickens out anyway!) and all the other characters barely had any personality or involvement in the story.
And good lord, I got so sick of the stupid "are fireworks flat or round" conversations. I guess that was supposed to be profound/the motif of the film, but it was just stupid.
The animation was pretty poor too. There were a few well-animated segments but in general it just looked like a TV anime - and the CG, oh god the CG. It was absolutely terrible and cringeworthy whenever they used it, e.g. when they were riding bikes around looking like stiff, low-polygon aliens. How anyone can look at that and think it's okay is beyond me. It doesn't surprise me when I see that kind of thing in TV anime but for a movie you'd expect them to try a bit harder. I don't expect every anime movie to match that level of visual quality, but good god did this look cheap.
This is easily the worst thing I've seen by SHAFT and it's even more disappointing as a big fan of the studio myself. I've never seen them as a "big budget" studio but they're normally pretty good at still making their works look good even on a small budget (fans will be familiar with their unusual visual quirks - there were very few in this either), hell at the time of this comment "March Comes in Like a Lion" (also by SHAFT) is airing and it looks gorgeous by comparison and probably cost a lot less to produce too.
It feels like this was SHAFT attempting to create an answer to the likes of Your Name/A Silent voice etc and falling incredibly short.
Well that was a cute and enjoyable series ultimately. Probably not particularly memorable in the long-term but it looked pretty nice and had some fun characters and endearing moments.
I suppose if you had come into this expecting something like "Everyday Life with Monster Girls", you may be disappointed since was more of a slice-of-life comedy rather than a raunchy harem comedy.
Hell yeah! Best girl Edna storms onto the scene.
Another very enjoyable episode. Whilst they're still following the same beats as the game I actually preferred the way they handled Edna and Zavied's introduction in the anime, as with several other things so far.
Back to the usual gang :) They seem to be handling events a bit differently from the game which is nice. I actually think some elements were handled better in the anime version!
Next week it's time for loli troll Edna :D
A reminder that for all the series' faults, Tomori was so best she made it all worth watching.
And we finally reach the end. I feel like I could say a lot about this series if I got going, but I'm instead just going to sum up my feelings by saying... meh. It was okay I guess. It's a shame that I feel that way now since I was really wowed by the first series back in the day, but oh well.
At least studio Shuka can now concentrate on getting Natsume S5 ready :D
Different art style but short and sweet like the OVA was. I should have known KanaHana would voice the girl (not that I'm complaining!).
In this epiode: butt painting!
I think I'm on the verge of what could be called "hate watching" this series now. I find pretty much all of the characters insufferable and the plot is infuriatingly stupid. Seriously, I don't know what could be considered "good" for this series aside from the pandering fanservice, which I think is kind of wasted if you don't even like the characters in the first place!
Thank god that's over with.
Well, you got me, series. I did think the seventh would be Maura, wasn't expecting it to be Nachetanya. I like that we've subverted a few things already, what with Adlet falling in love with Flamie rather than Nachetanya as expected, and it looks like things are going to get more complicated from here on in.
There had better be another season though, since really this whole season feels a bit like a prologue to the story proper. Oh, and I already dislike cow-girl.
Blimey, that turned dark pretty fast. Felt like everyone was fumbling around this episode and could have planned things better.
Wasn't particularly interested by the main story about the bird people, but ZOMG a kiss at the end? Progress? In my shoujo?
They HAVE to do another season of this. I expect we'll wrap this seventh brave thing up by the end of this one, but their adventure hasn't really even started yet!
Certainly an interesting approach to take.
That was a great episode. Really liked the pacing and direction - we definitely suffered as Yuu did. I do wonder if his sister truly is dead, mainly due to some other subtle supernatural hints we've seen about his family, but as far as he was concerned this episode, she certainly is dead and his suffering felt real and genuine.
Tomori of course was brilliant as usual. She's on track to being one of my favorite Key girls.
A decent if inevitable conclusion. May have had a slight something in my eye. I'm not made of stone.
Aww, that was kinda sweet. I was expecting a "nothing really happens" OVA, which is kind of true, but I wasn't expecting them to ACTUALLY KISS at the end. Hurray!
Possibly not quite on the level of SAC, but I'm still enjoying this version of GitS. The soundtrack by Cornelius is a massive plus too!
