Almost at a loss of words here, but it's a Japanese movie so all this crazy shit should've been expected. But wow.
What a hilarious movie and how it all fit together, amazing. I lost it already at the sexual harassment case and Noriko's reactions to all of Takuya's bullshit, holy crap.

But the ending was something else. Suddenly a E-Girls dance number and a random Verbal appears?! What the actual fuck. The song was so fitting tho, I don't even... that was absolutely amazing. Good thing I did not watch any trailers or anything before so this was a nice surprise as a "tie-in" song for the movie.

HAIRY ARMPITS, STATUE OF LIBERTY!

I really loved the Japanese original, Key of Life, so I was intrigued by the Korean remake. And honestly, they did a pretty good job with it. Seen much worse remakes and this had quite a few good laughs, some action and a... rather Korean romance. I'll take it!

Surprisingly well done movie, again. Such opulent set and costume design and some breathtaking shots, mesmerizing! The whole first 5 minutes or something are so well done, couldn't believe I was watching a Russian movie if it wasn't for the whole setting and all. Great soundtrack and two beautiful actors in the main parts that have some true chemistry. Unfortunately it gets a BIT cheesy at the end but if you can stomach that, this is one beautiful romantic fairy tale!

Confidential Assignment

Didn't know Yoona was in this so that was a surprising bonus. :D
Besides that, well crafted action sequences; decent plot and character development and it didn't really paint any of the koreas black or white... I kinda want a sequel now and considering it did pretty good at the box office this might actually be a possibility!

Probably one of the best korean rom-com's of recent years. Had a whole lot of laughs, heart and everything else you need to succeed, shame that it went completely under the radar.

Not entirely terrible I'd say. Kinda weak script, not the best editing and stuff like that but overall... ok for a low-budget SciFi movie. See it as a 1 1/2 hour non-interactive video game and don't expect anything too groundbreaking.

Wow... I don't even know what to say. Was that ending really for real? Or was this all just a cruel joke or a fever dream? If it is for real, this might be one of the "most backwards movie's" I have ever seen. I mean sure, it's 1959 in South Korea but for crying out loud....

So.... I saw the trailer for this some time ago and it did seem incredibly stupid but also intriguing. A russian Avengers? Why not!
But after the floods of bad reviews and press it got everywhere I watched this expecting the absolute worst.

And you know what? Going into it like this actually made it all the better. Sure, it was still incredibly stupid, littered with holes and nonsense but ALSO with some pretty good action sequences, some decent creativity and while many were complaining about bad CGI I think this was incredibly well done for a movie with a paltry budget of only $5 Million?!?

Not sure why this is supposed to be one of the WORST movies of all time if you believe some, I certainly was entertained and had some good laughs, even if only at some of the incredibly stupid things in it. :D
But yeah, don't write this movie off. Watch it while expecting the absolute worst and you MIGHT be pleasantly surprised.

I'm kinda looking forward to part 2 now. :x

It's absolutely mindboggling again and again what the Korean's are able to do with a puny budget, like the $9 Million for this one. The set and costume design, production values in general and everything were so spot on as usual, amazing!

Tho as Manny said, the movie was maybe a tad too long but besides that another brilliant piece in Kim Jee-Woon's book of which I've seen them all. Fantastic cast and better than 2015's "Assassination" which was similar in setting.
Well worth your time!

A weird mix of slapstick and more serious notes that didn't go all too well with me, some shoddy editing in places, some CGI that could've needed a few Yuan more in the budget and parts of the soundtrack that sounded like they were recorded in a bathtub.

But overall probably not the worst chinese movie in recent times, enjoyable if you don't expect some Jackie Chan masterpiece of which there are pretty much non these days.

I mean... it's a Sion Sono movie, expect the unexpected. ;)
But missed opportunity here, it needed way more Mariko Shinoda fighting in a way bloodier wedding dress, that would've made my day!

Who would've thought that one of the best SciFi Action movies of the year would come from Netflix? Well, in the future we might consider that more and more if this is anything to go by. Sure, the movie had a few minor issues but overall it was a pretty well directed romp, decently acted & with even a semi believable/scientifically sound premise and some top-notch visuals. Certainly enjoyed this one and will keep my fingers crossed for more quality material like this from Netflix, they've had a good year IMO.

Game Change

It's quite sobering to watch this on the eve of the 2016 election... they thought they had one of the most vicious and dirty campaigns in 2008 and look how far we've come. All the parallels between this, Palin and Trump this year... kinda amazing.

Oh America, you'll never learn.

Even for someone like me, who has no real clue about manga or does not read any at all, this is a wonderfully entertaining celebration of the art and artists. A fine movie with some terrific and imaginative sequences, a neat cast and story and a completely amazeballs soundtrack by sakanaction which should be worth to watch this alone. Also Nana Komatsu is always a wonderful sight to behold.

It's been some time since I've seen a movie that I had the feeling I should/could/would watch again and again and again but this... I definitely will.

A marvel on so many levels... the cinematography alone! And the soundtrack... and the acting. I adore this movie. It has not left my mind since I've seen it and it will be there for quite some time I think.
