The first episode was.. perfectly splendid.
This is the first episode that I didn't like very much. Older Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) is nothing like the younger one. It's like we've been introduced to a totally new character.
But the worst thing about the episode to me was Larys. So far he is like a mix of Ramsay and Littlefinger, but without the good writing. He just seems like a total stereotypical villain.
Melisandre: What do we say to the God of good episodes? Writers: Not today!
I feel like the writers are trying to insult people's intelligence this season.
Writer of the episode said that, and I quote ''Dany kind of forgot about Euron's fleet, but they haven't forgotten about her..'' She forgot. Everyone mentions the fleet 3 scenes before they show up and she was in that scene.
Not only did Dany suddenly suffer from concussion and forgot about them, she also couldn't see the entire fleet while flying high in the air. But tbf, they were hiding behind little rocks so she could not see them. Then Rhaegal gets hit 3 times in 3 tries, but when Dany goes straight at Euron (and does nothing) every arrow misses Drogon, of course. But then they destroy Dany's ships in a single minute, no misses there again, I'm afraid.
There were more bad things in this episode, like how no one else noticed Bronn (with big crossbow) in Winterfell, how no one asked for Arya's and Bran's help against Cersei, how Sam didn't ask Jon why he didn't help him in the last episode when he was lying on the ground, why Cersei didn't just kill everyone in that last scene, etc.. but the thing I hated the most was when characters were about to finally learn about Aegon Targaryen and then the show would just cut away from those scenes. We have time for those drinking games and romantic soap opera parts of the episode, but we cut away from Sansa's, Tyrion's and Arya's reaction about AT. Nice writing and directing.
The only scene that I liked and that reminded me of old GOT (S1-S4) was Tyrion and Varys conversation.. until Varys said that he'll betray Dany. Writers are probably going to kill him in the next episode because of that. In earlier seasons that character would never say his real thoughts, he would lie to Tyrion and then quietly spread info about Jon's true identity everywhere.
This is just.. sad.
She got me with the phone, not gonna lie.
I would be really surprised if the people who made this show didn't take some inspiration from Bioshock Infinite. The city and the gadgets really remind me of it, and Caitlyn reminds of Elizabeth too.
Prologue's finally done, Attack on Titan officially starts next week!
I waited a long time to see this reveal and I must say that I really didn't like how they put one of the most iconic scenes as a post credit scene.
I thought some of Dragon Ball Super was bad, but this.. this is a whole new level of bad. Genos looks like he's made from tin foil and my eyes hurt from all those effects they used in fights. Almost all punches were just still images of punches and not proper animation, you couldn't see a single punch land in the episode. Audio was pretty bad too and they didn't come up with any new tunes, they just keep reusing same soundtrack from the first season.
Man, am I disappointed and sad.. the new crew who made this couldn't fuck up any better.
They were more careful about properly animating Fubuki's big tiddies than everything else. That tells you a lot about them.
''You are really upsetting me.. on several levels.''
The actor who plays Zeff sounds so much like Gordon Ramsay, I was losing it every time he said something.
Absolutely perfect casting.
The first episode was solid, but this one was phenomenal.
Ruth Wilson and Dafne Keen have such a good chemistry and they are so good at acting. And CGI animals looked absolutely amazing.
But my favorite part of the show so far is the soundtrack, it brings the show on a new level and completely immerses you into the world.
Damn, was this bad. That sleep demon looked so bad and kept changing voices, from deep, scary to normal, almost British voice; really stupid. And Sabrina's dream was awful.. marriage? She's 16yo, she would've said no to that lunatic. They should've set dream about her Dad and Mom, how they didn't die or something. I keep watching because of Sabrina and some other things, but it looks like directors of the show are always trying to make me quit watching with some stupid plot elements and characters, especially those from high school.
What an emotionally powerful performance by the lead actress. I am completely blown away.
George giveth, D&D taketh away.
Holy sheet, this was one of the most hilarious episodes of Bojack.
I couldn't stop laughing at small pug complex part.
When that lady at the end is locking the door again camera zooms on it like it's an important detail, but then few minutes later Mulder blasts through the door like it's made from nothing. That was hilarious.
I actually cheered for serial killer to kill Trish, such an annoying character and bad actress.
Levi destroying Zeke is finally animated, perfect episode. I didn't like censorship and dim lit scenes, of course, but that's not studio's fault. Japan is too strict.
Mulder: What's a girl?
When Goku and Vegeta used Potara earlier in the series they reverted back to normal because they used too much energy before 1 hour mark, but that conveniently didn't that happen here.
Those two female Saiyan characters should've been older and more experienced in combat before they learned about Super Saiyan from Cabba, and they should've been in more episodes before that moment; it would've been more realistic like that. But instead they gave us two young girls who can master SSJ levels in single episodes and fight against character who struggled to achieve those same levels in who knows how many episodes, and they can do that because they have ''potential''. Lazy writing.
I didn't enjoy this at all and I was pissed off because all I could thiink about was how much time I spent watching Goku achieve the same power levels as them.
As a manga reader I really liked this episode, but I had a feeling that Koby wasn't there with Usopp in the manga. I noticed some changes so far, but I felt this is a big one. So I skimmed through the adapted chapters to see if I was right and.. I've made a huge mistake. My opinion on the show went from very positive to negative.
The showrunners have cut so much stuff and there are a lot of great and iconic moments missing. Or they've changed some things and made the show weaker. Example, Luffy stopping a bullet with his body. In the show he does it in front of Alvida, and it looks nice and it is a fun scene. But in the manga he jumps in front of Zoro and Koby to save them in the last possible second, leaving everyone dumbfounded when they witness his power. Peoples reactions to Luffy's power are one of the best things of early One Piece. They are really rushing the plot.
Now, I've enjoyed every episode so far with a fuzzy memory of the manga, meaning that people experiencing the show for the first time are enjoying it too (at least I hope so). Plus, this is the first season of an anime/manga adaptation, so I am willing to forgive them a lot of things and put aside my negativity.
But! I have one big criticism so far (well.. two) that I am not willing to forgive and that's Nami's and Zoro's behaviour. Every time I see a scene with Nami in it my immediate thought is 'Please, smile and laugh!'. She should be 10x more cheerier and cheekier, that's the Nami everyone likes. In Zoro's case, I saw some people say 'He is just edgy, that's not him!'. No, he is just free-spirited and goofily stoic like in the first chapters, but the actor is making the lines sound edgier, and Zoro is missing some of his annoyed tone and is not yelling at all. We will see what will happen when (if) Sanji shows up.
The actors are not to blame though, they were told to act like that, and they are doing good work so far. I hope Nami and Zoro will be more ''energetic'' in the next episodes.
The ending song fits so perfectly with this episode and season. The lyrics are devastating and you just can't stop thinking about all those kids.
''He's gonna kill someone one day.''
Claire is the worst.
The twist was predictable, but very satisfying.
"Ohh, fuck me.."
It's so satisfying when they finally discover were Marlo's crew hides bodies.
This episode was a feels roller coaster.
Best looking DB movie so far. The thing that I hated were changes in Goku's origin. In DBZ his father hated him and didn't care about him because he was weak. He only cared about him before he died because he realised he saw flashes of Goku's future.
It seems that creators want DB to be more PG rated, stories are not gritty at all anymore, they are more comedic and there's not even a single drop of blood. I mean, I still love it and I get that they want more younger people to watch it, but this movie and DBS series could have been on another level if they went with more grittier version. The first series was more lighthearted, but when it got serious it was way less censored than DBS and this movie.
They really need to stop changing details in overall story all the time in anime/manga/movies.
I love how Mai had her outfit from the first series, but I don't understand why they changed Trunks hair color if it's the same Trunks from DBZ.
I had to smile when Brau-1589 was laughing, because the voice actor was using that iconic Doflamingo laugh.
Great casting.
This episode makes me feel super. Aw!
