This is an amazing emotional movie for all of you romantics out there like you and me are going to love this beautiful constructed romantic comedy. The main characters Griffin & Phoebe played by KJ Apa and Maia Mitchell was so phenomenal acting you really believed that the characters were falling emotionally in love not just based of physical attraction, which all relationships should be focused on emotional attractions and interests as at the end of the day that is the main personality trait when being together in a romantic relationship with someone you have to focus on before you let your guard down. The other story lines added more comedy onto this romcom really showing how everyone should be respectful to each other no matter what I just wished they were given more background screen time in the film. I like that the fact that we had a female writer for this film on the writing staff added more exciting heart into this film especially when dealing with sex and showing that you should always ask for consent no matter who you are and it should be a beautiful act and such a romantic act to do, which KJ APA and Maia Mitchell really came across in there sex scene that had a lot of romance in it rather than just plane boring old unromantic sex like a lot of movies and TV Shows do. That is so not how relationships should be as it should focus a lot more on the characters interests and they move slowly before having sex that is completely fine and how most stable relationships go nowadays, which I thought was the beautiful thing about this movie and having there ups and downs to so it is not too perfect like a real relationship. Like I said that is how relationships work out better in the end a lot of emotional connection with some beautiful sex along the way, which is so important for an extra physical connection with your emotional romantic connection only if you are both fully consenting and you both are ready to do so no rush and it adds better physical bonding to your relationship. Sharing interests and hobbies together and also having arguments which is so healthy for a good loving emotional relationship to last as it gets everything out in the air and you are a lot more likely to stay together. I just wish that this movie focused more on the main characters and give them significantly more screen time, but other than that it is such a refreshing romantic romcom I have seen in a long time a ten out of ten Well Done to the main characters Griffin & Phoebe played by these amazing actors KJ Apa and Maia Mitchell who really made this romantic comedy really come to life. I hope to see more real true romantic films like this instead of just focusing on teen sex, which is so confusing for young teens nowadays as films should really show how you should lead you relationships with emotional connection first before physical attraction that should come much later in the relationship. as the personality and interests really do count before anything of a sexual nature that I really hoped people have told me that more as I was growing up as it would be so much less confusing for young teens like myself.
Just watched Avengers Endgame at the cinema and OH anyone who is watching this is in for a real three hour treat, which has lots of twists and turns along the way. All I will say about this movie is this is the Endgame that you will never predict any fan theories fly out the window as you are going to get properly mind blown as it would be one of the last endings that you would expect. If you thought Infinity War had you scratching your heads full of theories, well endgame just blows out the window and who knows what will happen next. All I say is I would definitely recommend watching this awesome movie as there will be funny parts and a lot of emotionally challenging scenes and a lot of action like the typical Marvel Movies we know and love, nevertheless you will find that you will not be disappointed I definitely recommend watching it as there will be many more MCU Movies to come to explain the aftermath of this movie. I cannot wait to see more Marvel Movies as I am so impressed on how the screen play writers has constructed this incredible universe of stories and how well it has been portrayed by the incredible very hugely talented actors in this film by new actors and returning actors alike they have all done a brilliant job Well Done And Congratulations. :scream::scream::scream::scream::sob::sob::sob::sob::cowboy::cowboy::grinning::thumbsup::heart::heart::green_heart::green_heart::thinking::thinking::thinking::thinking::star_struck::star_struck::confetti_ball::confetti_ball::tada::tada:
I've had an amazing experience watching the movie premiere in Venice, I've been waiting for this movie for a long time and I was not disappointed in the slightest.
It's a gorgeous movie, it's disturbing but moving at the same time, violent at times, but also subtle. It's a different and fresh spin on the character and on the cinecomic genre as a whole and Phoenix delivers an amazing performance portraying a version of the Joker we've never seen before, he's not the villain of someone else's story, he is the hero and villain of HIS own story, and the audience can be orrified by him, but we can't help but feel for him at times.
Without giving anything away I would recommend to go and see the movie not expecting to go and see an action packed, but gritty cinecomic, I suggest going in and watch it pretending that it's not even about a famous comic villain, but simply a movie, I think that people will appreciate it more in that way, not comparing it to the cinecomics we've seen before, but thinking of it as a normal movie.
P.S.: People will of course compare Phoenix to Ledger, I don't think it's possible, they give a totally different percormance because they portray totally different versions of the character, and I think it's going to be hard to compare them, you either prefere Ledger's version or Phoenix's but only based on the character, the actor's performances cannot be judged by comparison, they're both great. Just enjoy the movie
Not only is Endgame the most ambitious movie Marvel has made, but it also is the grandest. Even more so than Infinity War. No other movie can utilise the emotional ties that have been embedded within our hearts over the build of 11 years. And boy does it use them well. Stringing together scene after scene of nothing but impactful tension in the third act. But this doesn't leave the other two boring or bland. It allows these parts to build off of the aftermath of Infinity War. Never once was I bored, or felt like I was sitting there for three hours. For the action is no letdown, lovely dynamics are interwoven for a fantastic spectacle.
I don't want to say much, but it is hands down the best Marvel can offer. It is not Infinity War, Part II. It's something much better, the true culmination of everything and I do mean everything. The fan service here is through the roof and done so damn creatively. Not one thing feels hammered into the story. Even some major elements in its plot stem from the smallest details of previous movies I would have never seen coming. Taking even lesser liked fragments and stringing them into a more meaningful poetic story than the original movie would have ever told.
Using style and grace to tell this bold epic is strong with this movie. Gone are the golds and purples of Infinity War. And in comes a bleak atmosphere with hope lingering yet far. Visual storytelling is a bit lacking, but that is not what you come here to expect. You have been supported with all the exposition you need in previous movies. Since this is the case, it must be judged as a singular part of a series.
The themes in this movie are unity, utilisation, and more importantly; revelation. Kevin Feige has given this movie a lot to work with through these themes and has finally made his magnum opus.
Yes, there are a few hiccups. But that's to be expected. Captain Marvel was not given her full potential again sadly. But worked well with what was given. There is an amazing moment within the third act that truly gives her and a certain cast of characters time to shine. Plus the time it takes to leave out is a bit jarring. Not to mention, that to me Thanos seemed less threatening than in Infinity War because of something that happens. Still great impact by Josh Brolin of course.
Everyone will cry. Everyone will laugh. Everyone will leave sad yet satisfied with this amazing conclusion to the MCU so far. It's no Dark Knight, but then again, that was more drama than superhero epic. But this is modern hero gold. Here is the Holy Grail of superhero cinema.
9.6/10
8/10 After second viewing - Hype obviously had its hands around my neck I admit. Review doesn't meet my current thoughts about the film

"Baggage", can be a GOOD thing when yours makes it on time across the pond with you on your flight from London, especially if it's first out of the chute and onto the pick up carousel. But, it's NOT such a good thing if one carries quantities of the negative kind into a new relationship, be it an IRL relationship, or, in THIS case, the relationship between a viewer and a filmmaker.
It was to be expected then, when, Anime fans and enthusiasts expressed trepidation after the trailer for "Alita: Battle Angel" dropped. They can all still recall the cringe-fest that was M. Night Shyamalan's, "The Last Airbender", which IMO was DOA from the moment it was cast, and, don't get them started on "Dragonball Z", lest you want a wall of text recounting it's cornucopia of cinema sins.
Now, I'm not here to go down the rabbit hole that is often expressed in the current virtue signaling trend of "whitewashing" outrage. We're not talking about the bad old days practice of Black or Yellow face, where obviously Caucasian actors were darkened or "Orientaled" up to play faux versions of the real deal, nor of instances where it is done for comedic irony, as in Robert Downey Jr's, "Tropic of Thunder' performance, nor, the Waynan's Brothers in "White Chicks". However I DO find it interesting that no one seems outraged in those two instances, or, that the same folks who express shock and dismay at ScarJo's casting as the titular "Ghost in the Shell", ALSO express outrage at those who expressed outrage, at the idea of casting Idris Elba as James Bond. Seems like there's no pleasing some folks.

But I digress....
My point is, that we, as consumers of visual media, often let ourselves be influenced by the BAGGAGE we carry with us, when watching a film or show. Our expectations, based on PRIOR experiences, can subtly, or even greatly influence our enjoyment of a given offering. I have to wonder how die hard Trekkies would react to STDISCO, if they had NEVER seen Star Trek ANYTHING before? I myself can recall dismissing Wild Wild West, the movie, as soon as I saw Will Smith was cast in the lead, because for me Robert Conrad would always be the personification of James West. Yet, I had the opposite reaction to seeing Denzel Washington cast in the lead of either the Equalizer, or The Magnificent Seven, perhaps because lack of familiarity had not left me ingrained as to who these characters were. (Both great movies IMO by the way) Or perhaps it is just the power of the Denzel. And, even with all the "outrage" over the casting of "Ghost in the Shell", I still enjoyed the movie overall, although it fell down in a few places. Again I was unfamiliar with the source material.
Unlike the disappointing experience with "The Last Airbender", which I went into being a FAN of the Nickelodeon series as well as "The Legend of Korra", I was completely without opinion concerning Alita: Battle Angel. What I DID know was, that it was produced by James Cameron, who doesn't put his name on stinkers, and was directed by Robert Rodriguez, whom I have liked since El Mariachi. BOTH know how to deliver epic, believable worlds and characters, so I put my faith in that, and went in unbiased, with no expectations either way.
And I am SO very GLAD I did!!!
I saw the movie in IMAX / 3D, and, while SOME movies / Directors throw obvious, rather lame 3D effects to boost a lame, insipid storyline, or, OVER use it to the point of distraction, here, they found the perfect balance, with the 3D adding an immersive depth to the already impressive "26% more IMAX picture". If you watch the trailers, you can pretty much figure out which scenes really WOW in this format.
To address the elephant in the room, yes, Alita's eyes DO remind one of a cross between a high tech sex doll (not that I would know) and Margaret Keane's "Big Eyes" waifs. (Cristoph Waltz was in that one too) Yet, here, you quickly become so immersed in the story that you no longer notice. The story begins with Waltz's Dr. Ido discovering Alita's discarded torso in a dump, while he is scavenging for parts to fix up the neighborhood cyborgs, which are plentiful, and not trying to assimilate anyone. Apparently in THIS world, if a body part breaks, gets diseased, or hijacked (yes I said hijacked) it can be replaced, much like a crumpled bumper in a fender bender. Dr. Ido just happens to have a teenager sized cyborg body handy which is explained later in the film, and, a little JB Weld here, and a couple of stitches there and Bobs your Uncle, .. instant Teenage Mutant Ninja Angel...., (sorry) Alita awakens, but has no memory, and, as many teenagers are, is all questions, curiosity, and hormones, all at once, especially when she meets the "polite, hard working", and, all around handy guy Hugo, who IS teenage, but NOT mutant.
A visit from Ido's Ex, Chiren, gives us some (slightly disturbing) back-story and we meet her boss, Vector, played by Mahershala Ali, once again being chauffeured around by Viggo Mortensen, (just kidding) but who IS apparently a big deal, with connections to the sky city of Zalem, which floats above them, and is "the place were the cool hang out, the SWASS like to play, and the rich flaunt clout!" This is where everyone wants to someday go, "by any means necessary", yet Dr. Ido and his ex were apparently exiled from there, no backstory given.
Thrown in are a nice mix of teenage discovery and bonding, combat sports, bounty hunters, robot dogs, robot bounty hunters, set piece fight scenes, featuring robot dogs and bounty hunters of the meat and robot varieties, vivisection, nanobots, betrayal, heartbreak, and general cinematographic carnage....., and just when it was getting REALLY good, the credits ran, and NO ONE MOVED, hoping for one more glimpse of this world, or a Marvel Comics style peek at what is to (hopefully) come.
When I got home, I immediately looked up Alita, both the Anime and the Manga, and found a 2 part 1990's era Anime, which the movie, with a few minor changes and liberties, seems to have followed almost shot for shot in places. So, Kudos for at least partially following the source material, even if changes were made to make a coherent, box office ready story.
Was it perfect for those with the baggage of their own expectations? That's up to them to decide. Did I find it to be an entertaining movie that allowed me to suspend disbelief and immerse myself in Alita's dystopian hive of scum and villainy, and root for her to be victorious in the end? Yes sir!! So, May we have another??? PLEEASE????
This was definitely more for Godzilla fans than it was for critics. It was way better than the 2014 film that got Certified Fresh. The film is just badass. Not perfect but....bad ass.
They do over-do the family drama again though. Especially when the family drama makes no sense. Mark Russel (Kyle Chandler) blames Godzilla for the death of his son. He wants all monsters dead.
Mark’s wife Emma (Vera Farmiga) says screw mankind. The monsters will cure the planet of Climate Change. So yeah in another words who cares if anyone else loses family members. Due to her plan to unleash all monsters.
Her daughter Madison (Millie Bobbie Brown) sticks with her. Despite her mom teaming with some bad men with guns. Who kill some nice scientists right in front of her. So yeah, Mark is the sanest one in that family.
Even if there’s too much of the humans and a silly plot. This is the best of the Hollywood Godzilla movies. Critics are just wrong. One even said the Roland Emmerich version is better. What drugs is that critic on ?
The battles are some of the best done of any monster vs monster battle. Unlike the first film this one has a ton of Godzilla history to it. It shows him way more and shows the character great respect.
I've read the reviews, this film is getting a love-it or hate-it reaction. First, I think a lot of the bad press comes from people judging it out of its genre. It is a romantic comedy, so those who gave it 1s and 2s (out of 10) because it was "just a love story with music", need to adjust their expectations, appropriately. Secondly, this is under-spoken, self-deprecating British humour (that I adore) but this is often baffling to American audiences (who are use to being fed broad comedy, caricatures of life - see note on Kate McKinnon, below) and this fuelled another flurry of low ratings. So, you can see where my review is going. I loved this movie. The love story was inevitable (it WAS the point of the movie). The premise was unique (and it provided a great reoccurring joke). The theme of Friendship Zone vs Romantic Interest was executed perfectly by the deep, emotional vocabulary of the performers (although, the 14-seconds-that-changed-the- world is as much of a leap as Lily James, made average with fuzzy hair, being left in the friendship zone, in any time line). Himesh Patel made a smooth transition from the Soaps to the Big Screen and his musical skills were perfect for this. Lily James brought such vulnerability, energy and strength dealing with unrequited love . As much as I appreciate the comedic talents of Kate McKinnon, I wish she would find the real people behind her caricatures. She needs to find her dramatic chops which, I believe, are there to be discovered. But the glue for this film was the music. As with BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY, I was transported to my youth when so much of this music was imbedded, word for word, note for note. I fully expected the ending to flip back to Jack waking in his hospital bed, having lived a dream, and now seeing Ellie with different eyes and not missing his moments, cue same ending from there on. I give this film an 8 (great) out of 10. My friend gives it a 9 (just short of perfect). [RomCom around Music]
*Old fashioned murder mystery on a ship.*
A nice easy breezy murder mystery. Full of fun. Don't count on anything serious or deep here just sit back with your popcorn and a soda and enjoy the movie. Nothing offencive here. Just an adult murder mystery romp. We don't get many like these anymore. Ignore the people who like to criticize everything because they think they are actual critics. Chemistry between Aniston and Sadler is awesome. I hope they make more movies together. Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler are the best!
My Score: 7/10.
^^*Trivias*^^
+This movie set a new Netflix record. In the first 3 days 30,869,863 accounts watched the film. 13,374,914 North American accounts & and an additional 17,494,949 accounts watching worldwide.
+The movie seems to be an Agatha Christi-esque style murder mystery thriller. At the end of the movie, we see the characters of Audrey and Nick on a train named "The Orient Express". This is a direct homage to Agatha Christie's famous "Murder on the Orient Express" (1935) novel.
+Adam Sandler's real life wife, Jackie Sandler, makes a cameo appearance as the flight attendant on the plane.
+When Audrey goes to the first-class section of the plane, a passenger is watching a clip of Game Over, Man! (2018), another film directed by Kyle Newacheck.
+In the movie Nick mentions a guy named Eric Lamonsoff. Kevin James played a character named Eric Lamonsoff in Grownups and Grownups 2, also starring Adam Sandler. Most of Sandler's films reference that last name, in a nod to his old friend.
+Andrea Bendewald who plays a customer in the salon Jennifer Aniston is working at in the start of the movie. Andrea is Jennifer's best friend. She was maid of honour at her wedding to Brad Pitt. She also guest starred in Jennifer's sitcom "Friends"
+Adam Sandler's and Jennifer Aniston's second film together. The first was Just Go with It (2011).
+In 2013, a report surfaced from a German financier that Colin Firth, Adam Sandler and Emily Blunt would be joining Charlize Theron in the movie, which turned out to be false. Coincidentally, Sandler did become attached to the project in 2018, though Theron had already left.
+When Nick and Audrey arrive at Malaga Airport (Spain), the airport shown is actually Milan Malpensa Airport (Italy), not Malaga Airport.
+This is the third film featuring Luke Evans and Gemma Arterton together following Clash of the Titans (2010) and Tamara Drewe (2010).
+Charlize Theron was once attached.
+The shield shown by Nick on the plane and in the store is a patrolmen's shield yet he was referred to as a Sergeant.
+Luke Evans and Victor Turpin, who both appeared in "Murder Mystery", are a couple in real life.
+During the interrogation, the character yells 187. That is a California code for murder, not world or US code.
+John Madden was once attached to direct the movie. Anne Fletcher was attached to direct the movie later.
+The Rolls-Royce that Cavendish owns is a Phantom Drophead Coupe, License plate number EQU 617. Recent models (2016) approaches $533,000 new. It gets 14 MPG, has a 412 cubic inch, 453 horsepower V-12 engine, and weighs in at 5,780 pounds. (16.8l/100km, 6.8l V12, 2.6t)
+Game-Over Man (another netflix movie) is playing on the airplane when Jennifer Aniston's character is wandering around the plan.
Spoilers
+Body count: 6
+At the end of the movie when Nick and Audrey are on the train, the camera pans out and we see the name of the train is Orient Express. This is in reference to another famous murder mystery movie, Murder on the Orient Express.
Not for the faint hearted even though this show will leave you feeling Euphoria in some moments
This show straight from the word Euphoria literally brings lots of really important matters faced by teenagers today into light. This show is not for the faint hearted as it deals with drugs, violence, romance, sex and much more, therefore showing an all round representation of what teenagers are faced with nowadays. The main character RUE deals with her own demons from having a drug habit where she overdosed and her sister found her on the floor practically dead. RUE faking being clean to her Mom and then after meeting this girl called Jules who has her own demons and interests that is set on this man who is just a character cat fishing her into a false sense of security. RUE falls for her hard where the Euphoria grows and you watch their relationship go as RUE stays clean and keep going to rehab as Jules is literally her rock and the main reason why she is trying to stay clean. I am so happy and practically Euphoric right now that this amazing show has got renewed for a second season ten out of ten amazing acting especially from Hunter And Zendaya. Lets keep this new amazing HBO show going for lots more seasons too go and the soundtracks will leave you feeling so euphoric. #Rules #Euphoria #EuphoriaHBO #Zendaya
"Part of the journey is the end."
It all started in 2008 with Iron Man, I was 19 at the time, now I'm 30, I have the best girlfriend in the world, I moved out of my parents house, had 2 different jobs, started a Letterboxd account, watched many movies, still love the same football club, starting a trakt.tv account, watched many marvel films, started readingthe comics, fell in love with anime, gotten a little bit heavier and today I finally saw the final chapter of the MCU thus far.
I can't really say that I hate any of the films, I like some more than others and for me there were some outstanding ones, but overall it's a solid franchise that I really adore.
So yeah, some people will love Endgame between 600 and 900 times, but I love it 3000. The action isn't as good as in Winter Soldier, it has loads of CGI, it's a bit predictable but in the end we all love the emotional moments, we love the humor and the characters. I will certainly watch this one a lot more when I finally have it on bluray and complete my MCU collection.
Like Ton Star said: "Part of the journey is the end." And I really loved this ending. It was everything I hoped for and more!
PS. FUCK YEAH STAN LEE!
The mysteries just keep unraveling
Just been to the cinema to watch Escape Room 2 the tournament of champions. Like the name suggests this is putting six people together like the orginal movie into different Escape Rooms, but this time it is people known as the champions basically people who have beat the game before, but obviously Zoey and Ben are the ones from the previous Escape Room movie and the only ones that where both of them made it out alive due to Zoey pretending to be dead when gassed in the hospital in the previous film. Then fighting to save Ben as well so both of them made it out unlike the others where there is only one winner per Escape Room. In Escape Room 2 these champions now face it head to head as they are tricked into participating in this Escape Room like last time, but with interesting twists and turns along the way. The Escape Rooms got even more creative with them becoming more complex, however I did feel like they kind of rushed over them unlike the first movie. Obviously this maybe intentional by the writers as it sets up Zoey and Ben's next chapter as Minos controls the game and only makes you think that you have some kind of control, which overall makes for an interesting watch and nothing is ever what it seems. Hoping for a third movie to tie it all off, which I hope the writers have taken this into account. I highly recommend this film a very fast paced continuation from the last movie with amazing set design incorporated into the VFX. The plot twists just keep on coming well done to Taylor Russell and Logan Miller for your amazing performances as well as the rest of the cast and crew on making this movie so mind bogglingly entertaining as well as leaving us on the edge of our seats wondering what happens next. Also one last thing is I have never seen a film do a previously before it was like watching a TV show, but I appreciated the recap at the start preparing us for the mysteries that is about to unravel. I definitely think movie movie sequels should do this as people can easily forget key details. :astonished::grinning:
Hustlers is a funny feel good film you really do root for them even though they are committing crimes on these rich people to steal their money.
We first meet these people at a strip club in New York where they are strippers trying to make a living, but in order for them to make enough money they need to go into a bit of illegal business. We see these strippers as the hustle gets a lot harder resulting into drugging their clients in the film to try and get them to use their credit cards, signing cheques to spend money on them while hopefully not getting caught in the process, which the precaution is mainly these drugs that play on the clients memory while giving the clients a good time while being conned out of thousands by these strippers. Jennifer Lopez is hilarious the moment she breaks into a split after her strong independent liberating pole dancing scene is just Oscar worthy, which her character Ramona is the main instigator in this side hustling illegal business remaining in complete control over her friends that eventually becomes family.
Overall this movie is hilarious, dark, thrilling, well thought out and makes you overall feel good seeing these people come together to help each other in their hard time of need, where you find yourself rooting for these vulnerable strippers that are doing the illegal activities that they are in as you just want them out of this compromising position, then to be happy overall as close friends practically family too. Jennifer Lopez , Constance Wu, Cardi B, Keke Palmer who is especially hilarious, Trayce Lysette and Lili Reinhart has done an amazing job in there acting. Even though Lili’s character Annabelle could not stop throwing up randomly which was a bit weird and funny at the same time, also her sitting on Jennifer Lopez’s Lap was a bit bizarre too still, cute, warm, sweet and hilarious though just especially shows the close friendly family bond between Lili’s character Annabelle and Jennifer Lopez’s character Ramona too. I highly recommend you go and see it in a cinema as laughing together while also feeling the emotions the characters are faced with in their unpleasant experiences are just what cinemas are all about experiencing it as a community.
This movie is phenomenal where it does really send your imagination running wild. It is great to see Harry Collett on the big screen, where finally all his hard work and dedication has paid off especially now getting to act along with the amazing legendary Robert Downey Jr, like they say when one door closes another one opens, like in Roberts case it is a nice transition from legendary avengers to a lovely family friendly film Dolittle. The VFX is so amazing really adds to the whole magic of the experience while Dolittle is on his travels, also while being backed by his trusty animals with an amazing voice cast that just brings hilarious life to these animals. The overview of the story is where Dolittle is suffering from a horrific loss where he has closed his animal sanctuary for good all in solitary confinement that he is depressed while still living with his Animals who he can communicate with. Just until these two amazing young people turn up to save him from his loneliness, so he can be with his own kind again, where these amazing kids are Tommy Stubbins portrayed by Harry Collett and Lady Rose portrayed by Carmel Laniado, whilst having a lovely cute romance along the way, where they both turn Doctor Dolittles life around for the better. Dolittle eventually agrees to go to the palace after finding out from Lady Rose that the queen is sick where he could lose his animal sanctuary for good if the queen was to die. He eventually embarks on a voyage on his ship with his stowaway apprentice Tommy Stubbins to try to save the queen with lots of twists and turns along the way. All whilst Tommy Stubbins is teaching himself, whilst also being taught by Dolittle to communicate to the animals along the way. As we all kind of really hope that we can communicate to our animals, so that they can understand us too. There is a lot of funny humour in this film with jokes that have secret meanings for older ages that they will understand, my personal favourite flipping the evil bad guy Mudfly off, whilst still leaving funny jokes in there for the younger kids too. This movie is euphoric really takes you back to being a kid letting your imagination running wild. Remaining with a key message to always be open to any possibility and never give up even when something terrible happens, therefore remaining optimistic about the future and not letting anything or anyone put you down.
Lovely to end Jesse Pinkmans story on a high note with a very happy ending
First of all, can I just congratulate the whole cast and crew with the amazing cinematography that really gives a credit to the film with great acting and a great director by Vince Gilligan. This film is not going to surpass the exquisiteness of Breaking Bad, nevertheless it gives us a great slow pace look into Jesses story from the past with his experiences along with trying to flee the country to finally get the life he deserves. This film takes the focus off Walt as we know he was left bleeding out on the floor at the end of Breaking Bad where Jesse drives off through the gate into the distance leaving Walt behind bleeding out finally being free with him and his El Camino to hit the road. We see a lot of familiar faces throughout this movie such as Mike, Badger, Skinny Pete just to name a few. You feel suspense throughout the whole movie hoping that Jesse does not get caught or even worse killed. There were a few comedic jokes in the film to make the viewers laugh, but overall it gives out a dark atmosphere as Jesse is literally running for his life. With some of the flashbacks into Breaking Bad where we see Jesse in a state of depression when he is forced to work for the Neo Nazis, showing the suffering pain that he was going through at that moment in time and being locked up in this cage pit, therefore you really get a look into Jesses mind in that moment. On the other hand we see Jesse in the flashback set in the times of Breaking Bad where he has a benevolent side to him, where Jesse does not want any violence he wants to get out of the drug business to sort his life out and maybe go to college/university where obviously that does not go to plan shown through the ending of Breaking Bad. This movie gives off the vibe as being slow pace yet dramatic more like a tribute to the astounding benevolent Jesse Pinkman, which it gives us Breaking Bad fans the closure that we need, therefore leaving us with a lovely happy ending to Jesses story that leaves you pleasantly surprised. Vince Gilligan did a phenomenal job of producing El Camino I give this movie a ten out of ten as it really does satisfy you with a really nice ending.
Just unbelievably emotionally amazing loved it
You will find yourself feeling emotional in this series making you cry at times as it is based on a true story. We have Marie who is played by Katlyn Dever she is amazing so talented really portrayed this character well bringing her story to life, which her character in the early hours of the morning someone breaks into her apartment through the sliding door. Where Marie is continually raped repeatedly by this guy while blindfolded and tied up with her own shoe laces. She calls the police after calling a friend and a neighbour to which they all do not believe her and treat her like a criminal to drag her through the mud as the crime scene is completely clean. The police think she made it up for attention based on her past of abuse through the foster program as well. There are many other victims that go unnamed throughout the years, then three years later after Marie’s rape of the same attacker two detectives from different towns Detective Grace Rasmussen played by Toni Collette and Detective Karen Duvall played by Merritt Wever starts picking up the pieces to connect these rapes to hopefully eventually find the rapist . Anyway, Marie suffered the most not just the rape that is a massive scar on her life for the rest of her life just like the other rape victims, but Marie has also suffered at the hands of the cops through disbelief by being treated as a lying suspect by the police, which it just an injustice in itself where it just shows you should never judge a book by its cover. Anyway, ten out of ten series loved it brings a tear to my eye and it just shows if it was not for those two amazing female detectives these women would never have closure especially Marie’s life would have been completely ruined by the justice system failing her countless times through disbelief of her credibility in the rape allegation. I definitely recommend a watch if you have spare time as it really makes me think so much not to judge too quickly like the cops did with Marie, as you could miss some critical evidence leaving the person even more scared than they was the first time coming out of the violent crime against them.
Loved this hilarious and heartfelt movie with some familiar faces cameos along the way
This movie is set after the most recent Fast And Furious Films where it shows two very different characters called Hobbs And Shaw that they are like brothers with a love hate friendship where they rub each other up the wrong way while cracking hilarious jokes about each other. Nevertheless when it gets down to dangerous situations they both go in and work really well together. Hobbs is more family oriented where he is a lot calmer with a steady day to day life with his lovely daughter that is really cute to see his sweet innocent side to him that makes him seem a lot more human. When it comes down to defeating enemies Hobbs tends to chuck extremely heavy objects at them like chairs, nevertheless compared to Shaw is more refined as he defeats enemies using finesse and skill he kind of shows off while getting the job done. Shaw has a less stable life where he prefers to work alone with very little backup and pushing family away along with his friends while making a lot of enemies along the way. I loved the cute heartfelt moments between Hattie And Shaw was so cute as well. If you have a spare two hours and sixteen minutes I highly recommend you watch this hilarious heartfelt film, which you will not be disappointed as you will recognise some familiar funny faces along the way that is great.
I have to say that I liked this movie a lot. It is kind of fantasy, science fiction (emphasis on fiction here) and steam punk (or perhaps I should say diesel punk) mixed together.
The world is a fairly dark post apocalyptic world where moving predator cities prays on each other. The entire concept is really quite ridiculous of course but it makes for some really fantastic and spectacular special effects and I am a sucker for spectacular special effects.
In addition the overall story holds together fairly well. That is, in the context of the ludicrous world that is the background of this story in the first place of course. It is quite straightforward without too much annoying social or green preaching that plagues so many movies nowadays. Somewhat predictable but overall a good vehicle for the plentiful action.
I also liked most of the characters. Both the bad guy and the good guys had decent charisma with the exception of Tom who was a bit of a naive whiner although he got it together towards the end.
There where few flaws. Nothing really major except that, in one scene at the end, the city of London was shown against the wall and it was bloody tiny compared to the wall. The main bad guy’s last resort was to pummel London against the wall and was expected to break it down. Before in the movie London was depicted as really huge. That scene really screwed that and made him delusional.
Apart from that, end Tom’s whining and naivety, I really liked this movie. It was the kind of over the top, fantasy/fiction movie with a big budget that you do not see every day. Of course the dickwads, a.ka “critics”) at Rotten Tomatoes and other mainstream media assholes did their best to tell everyone how bad it was. As usual that’s just the stuff that comes out of the south end of a north bound bull.
Such an emotional story with a beautiful message that we all need to hear
Joe Bell is such an emotional story that I highly recommend everyone watching this as it really spreads across a key message. We first see that Jadin Bell was getting bullied for being gay as all he wants to do is get on in the world and the world to respect him for who he is. We see the impact that the bullying is taking on the whole family as shown in a particular scene where Joseph is concerned over what the kids are saying to Jadin, nevertheless Jadin is trying to stay strong by saying words cannot hurt me I am tougher than I look. Obviously we know that this is really getting to Jadin as all Jadin needed is support and people to speak up against these bullies before it was too late. Joseph and Jadin in this scene share a very deep emotional hug showing that the pain that they are both feeling about how Jadin is being bullied for his sexuality and being himself. You really feel it for the emotion that this is having especially by the facial expressions in both Joseph and Jadins faces. Throughout this film we see Joe walks across America in a self-reflecting journey in order to spread the word about the terrifying costs of bullying. Showing people that if we don’t speak up against bullying you can really be left in a catastrophic situation as the Bells were. Joe realises that he should have not cared so much about what other people thought, which we can see peoples negative comments about Jadin being his true self, therefore he wishes he would have just spoke up sooner instead of trying to avoid the situations as the comments and physical harassment was getting worse for Jadin. We see many flashbacks to what Jadin had to deal with, also seeing Jadin spirit leading Joe across this journey as Joe says to Lola on the phone. Overall I really found that Joe doing this in tribute for Jadin really touched so many lives and he really did dedicate everything to this as things are never the same again for Joe and his family. Please watch this film as it brings an emotional beautiful powerful message as there is plenty of good people in the world to speak up against bulling we should not tolerate it, therefore be more supportive to everyone especially our friends in the LGBTQ+ community as this is a daily struggle there really is not enough good people in the world. If you consider yourself to be a genuine good person please speak up and stand up against bullies as we should all stand together.
Abused becomes the abuser as we look at the story from Joes perspective to the reasons why he does what he does for love and how far would you go for love too?
This series is captivating really puts you on edge at first you think Joe is a psychopath stalker and killer, when he starts to follow Beck the woman that he meets in a bookstore and she immediately gives him her email address in a flirtatious way for herself while having a boyfriend already also known as Benji.
Joe starts to become obsessive checking social media for Beck finding people that will get in the way, like Becks Boyfriend who is a drug user plus drug dealer that he is a bit psychotic too, as well as we later found out he murdered a few people in cold blood where he kept a video documentation of it. Anyway, Joes way of dealing with Becks Boyfriend Benji is to lock him in a bookstore basement with the soundproof glass prison type room that is claustrophobic. We later find out after Joe was abused as a child by his parents the owner of the bookstore takes him in then becomes Joes only father figure who he loves dearly.
I start to feel sorry for Joe where we later find out that Joe got locked in the same basement when he was younger to teach him a lesson that just added onto his overall trauma thinking it is okay to lock people in basement for their own good that is obviously not, nevertheless the bookstore owner did it out of love for Joe. Cutting a long story short Joe kills Becks best friend Peach who is obsessed in love with Beck and would do nothing to single her out to have Beck to herself even booking flights to Paris, if you ask me, she reminds me of Joe in a way. They both keep documented evidence, Joe in a Box above his bathroom in the drop ceiling, where there is sentimental pieces like diaries, pictures, pieces of clothing, for example bra, underwear you get the picture, murder evidence like Benji’s teeth that he could not burn as the body could be easily identified by the cops. Peach kept digital documentation on her laptop for blackmail, like pornographic images of people who she has been obsessed with especially a lot of pornographic images with Beck on, therefore we are dealing with two people who will do anything to get Beck to love them.
We find out that Beck has Daddy issues which everything is a mess her Dad has practically a separate family, also Beck cheats on her past partners a lot while she persists on lying about it for herself, she even cheated on Joe with the therapist that she lied about continually as well. Joe has love for people like Beck he just sees it as protecting her, in addition this one kid in his building called Paco where the mother is also in a abusive relationship with a her boyfriend who is a parole board officer, we later find out that he knocks her about and the reason why she haves him back is that he could use his contacts to take Paco away.
Joe has a past relationship where Beck is determined to find out more details on a woman called Candace Stone, finding out that is not simple as she randomly leaves the country after having an affair behind Joes back with the record label producer to get signed up as a singer. Joe finds out confronts the record label producer killing him by pushing him of the roof years ago, where he learns how to cover it up and create a social media trail, so people think he committed suicide rather than just murdered linking it back to Joe. When it all comes to ahead Joe and Peach has a showdown of course Peach suspected Joe from the start especially after getting assaulted by her stalker in central park while out on a run, which eventually at Peach’s house she sees Joe and shoots him grazing him on the leg Joe plays dead with very little blood. After Peach goes up to him to make sure that the job is done Joe gets her on the ground while killing her with Peaches gun in kind of a mercy killing. Before this Peach and Joe had a convosation about keeping it a secret, so they both disagreed mainly Peach it either being Joe or Peach that was going to die obviously Peach in the end. Peaches death ruled as a suicide obviously Beck and Joe try to make it work until Beck dumps Joe for being overprotective and paranoid as I said earlier Joe was right and Beck did cheat on him with her therapist. Middle of this Joe has a steady Girlfriend then cheats on her with Beck, therefore eventually dumping her.
Private investigator turns up suspecting everyone thinking the death is a murder not a suicide of course he is right still trying to gather up evidence strongly suspecting Joe. After another forgiveness again Beck doing it all for herself with Daddy Issues, Beck finds the evidence after Paco said Joe said hiding objects in the drop ceiling above the bathroom is a great hiding spot for Paco’s Book, which Beck goes in there finds the evidence, Joe finds out she knows knocks her out as well before she escapes, locks her in the basement down to love for days while she was on a writing retreat her friends thought as Joe posed as her on social media saying that. Joe lets Beck out eventually where she stabs Joe with a type writer keys that are very sharp after kissing him to try to escape, Beck locks Joe in the glass prison, Beck tries to escape and there is extra fence after the basement door not letting her, she sees Paco asking him to let her out he does not say anything and leaves, Joe gets Beck down after opening with hidden spare keys, Beck hits him with a mallet, Beck attempts to use the keys then Joe mercifully in his eyes kills Beck.
The reason Paco did not help Beck is that before this Paco tries to steal gun from the bookstore stored under the counter desk and gets caught by Joes friend, which Joe takes the gun off him and convinces him not to kill the abusive parole officer. Later on, in the events Paco uses a weapon to whack his mother’s abusive boyfriend, he goes to lividly chase after Paco, where Joe sees this and stabs the Paco’s Mothers abusive boyfriend in the throat. Paco and Joe cover it up leaving a social media trail where his body is never found. This is mainly because Paco views Joe as a father figure when joe loves him like his own son that really humanises this relationship.
Becks Body gets planted by the Therapists work where the evidence is already written on a typewriter by Beck mentioning the therapist doing all of these horrific actions in place of Joe who actually did it more to appease Joe. The therapist gets arrested after the evidence is sent in anonymously, then goes down for it even though he is completely innocent, meanwhile no one suspects Joe. The whole trauma gets made into a book published with Becks name on by someone else to tell their story.
It just shows with past trauma people can think it is OK to do these horrific actions thinking they are justified like out of love; therefore, you cannot help but sympathise with Joe when he has been through a lot of abuse too when he was much younger age. Usually like with Joe the abused eventually becomes the abuser with reasons justified in his eyes some logical some illogical.
In conclusion I rate this a ten out of ten really leaves you on the edge of your seat, especially adding a twist on at the end where this female looking figure tuns up in the bookstore where Joe works, which it turns out to be the presumed dead girlfriend Candace Stoneeven. I wonder how that is going to play out, as I the reason she has visited after reading the news story on Beck I recon she knows about everything she does not look surprised at all, which suggest to me that she might even be a killer herself just knows you never know what is going through someone’s mind where everyone is capable off killing for their own reasons justified or not.
In addition to this conclusion I highly recommend this ten out of ten mystery series where you will not be disappointed if you watch it in your spare time. I really hope there is a season two of YOU as I really want to see how this plays out maybe Joe seeks a path of redemption who knows we will just have to wait to find out.
So hilarious really takes you back to being that age in some ways that also brings a light to the Gen Z way of life.
This movie is great love these sorts of comedies really hilarious jokes makes kids not as uptight about certain subjects such as identity, sex, drugs, relationships, navigating their bodies and finding out what they like. Jacob Tremblay has done an amazing job as portraying Max so shockingly hilarious when he just comes out and says Fuck just because if you have followed his acting career you have never seen him say that as he is such a sweet boy so is his characters and him as an overall person. Also really takes you back to those days of being a kid almost teenager as they call themselves tweens discovering what you like and do not like in some many ways. The beer sipping scene is just so hilarious as it takes me back to my first beer where it is disgusting, nevertheless you just take it to be cool and have a can of pop afterwards to get rid of the horrible taste. The girls with the drug Molly was just hilarious as the boys just said who is Molly as they went onto think the girls were drug addicts and it is some sex drug, which that was just so hilarious the innocents in that, However all they wanted to do is just use the drone to film the nymphomaniac neighbour to see what kissing was like. After the realisation hits after the girls just said google it that is what everyone does, which previously the boys typed porn in and that was just so damn suggestive so hilarious, they never even thought to type how to kiss. The sex doll is just hilarious as they thought it was a CPR dummy until Max kissed and found some disgusting pubic hair on the mouth is just hilarious, they still did not realise. The bean bag boys kind of started to realise when a guy came into the house to buy a rare collectible card off them and he offers a lot of money for the doll and the smugness too when he said he would have gone up to one thousand dollars, then the understanding just hit the boys heads was just hysterical when they found out it was a sex doll not a CPR Dummy. The romances were just funny and super cute knowing there not going to last, but just showing the way of life how they know how things work and how to build a strong relationship takes time not just kissing, hugging and holding hands makes a relationship it is the time spent with the person that does. I liked the fact that the bean bag boys talk about not being misogynistic asking the person before kissing them is so great as it teaches consent at the end of the day, which is such an important message to come across to kids and everyone you can do it, but you must ask the persons permission first whether it is sexual or just human contact like kissing or holding hands etc. At the party that was their main goal to get to as Max wanted to meet a girl that he has a crush on for years and kiss her, which led onto the spin the bottle scene not always going to plan for Max is just hysterical. I love that it is showing a controversial subject like being gay, lesbian or bisexual etc, just to be accepting no matter who you are. The other seriousness added onto the gender neutral bathroom in the play just hinted as a cardboard box with a gender neutral sign on just adds meaning showing that is how it should be no matter gender or who you are everyone is equal should have the same toilet facilities, changing rooms etc. Not being ridiculed or pressured into a binary gender society as a person is a person at the end of the day, we should not just separate society as it is a touchy subject when it comes to being different whether it is biologically or personality just be accepting as we are just people at the end of the day. Showing that is the Gen Z way of life talking is so much more comfortable with acceptance as the key word here, it is not about just being girl stuff or boy stuff that should not be shared with either genders and never talked about between yourselves, therefore in Gen Z way of thinking everyone should learn of all aspects of biology and life no matter what they have got or what they are into as Gen Z way off life is just more relaxed and is so awesome due it to be accepting. Overall, I highly recommend you watching it will make you laugh, cry and cringe a bit while taking you back to being a twelve year old even though this is super exaggerated like most comedy movies are, therefore as I am a feminist bringing a light to controversial Gen Z subjects just makes me love this movie even more as education is key when it comes to Gen Z.
I would have to say it’s not one of my top movies despite how pleasant it was to watch. Now that’s not to say that it’s bad, quite the contrary. This is just a movie I would file under “what I’d watch if I wanted to see a nice, cute film in my free time.”
It is as the summary states; two childhood friends fall in love with each other.
Pros...
- None is the movie felt forced, even during the comedic moments.
- It was paced very nicely.
- The comedic moments were actually funny. They did have me laughing because they were well written. (This depends however on what you find funny. Me, I laugh at generally anything, so don’t take my word for it xD)
- The characters, in personality as well as how they deal with situations, are relatable.
- This film has some surprises for you. I won’t ruin them but there are some. And if no one told you, there is a certain actor who makes their entrance halfway through the movie so look out.
- Since this is a cutesy type of film, there is little to no drama. It’s nice being for how the film is, and it made the supporting cast all the more better in my opinion. I love Veronica and Mr. Kim by the way xD.
- The ending. It was truly emotional because it finishes the movie on a good note. It also gave the movie a nice finishing touch without just leaving everything off like that.
Cons....
- If you’re looking for this movie to change your life, no. That’s not going to happen.
- Some of the parts were predictable.
- As I said, the movie is exactly what the summary says. There’s no real underlying plot that will make this movie beer into a different direction.
:asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol: (This wasn’t actually a con for me, but I’m listing it in case someone thinks the movie may be more than what it is.) :asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol:
- I wish I would have been advised that there would be some swearing, or someone’s butt was going to be shown xD.
Edit: So I got called out for being potentially narrowed mind because of this con, and they had every right to so I’m not going to bash the person. However I will say that I personally don’t mind any swearing, nudity, etc. But my grandmother lives with me and she on the other hand is not that accepting xD. So I listed this as a con in case anyone has children, grandparents, or anyone else that you don’t want to hear or see that just in case.
What an emotional ride
This film portrays a very unique perspective from how you can be down in life no one ever being there for you and you always having to be the strong one. To being introduced to love in life when you have never seen anything like it, but pain and suffering. This really does show the struggles and worries of life in so many perspectives showing that you can still find love and happiness amongst all of the problems in life. This film is a whirlwind of emotions from when we first meet Casey who has had enough of life to when we come across Jess and Jules that provided Casey with the love that he never got. They are kind of like a family that works through problems by helping each other whilst finding times of laughter and joy. I am glad I came across this film it leaves you feeling happy and sad at the same time as it is very bittersweet, therefore overall I highly recommended anyone watching this film it really does bring up some emotional topics that needs to be talked about more in life. A big well done to the cast and crew for bringing such an emotional story to our screens and a special mention to Emily Kinney who portrayed Jess, Breckin Meyer who portrayed Casey and of course the amazing Giselle Eisenberg who portrayed Jules, as I am very impressed with all of their performances as it is such hard emotional topics to portray on screen and they all smashed it congratulations.
Just watched the episodes of My Mum Tracy Beaker. Wow how amazing so worth the wait glad Tracy Beaker is finally back on our screens. When you watch the first episode it leaves you thinking that everything is happening so quickly, but this is designed to make us feel how Jess Beaker is feeling a bit overwhelmed with the whole situation I am sure we can all relate to especially in recent times. The next two episodes delved into the story further showing there’s more than meets the eye to people than you initially thought. I did not expect the ending , but like everything there’s even more to the story as it is a journey. Well done Emma who portrayed Jess really well bringing Tracy Beakers daughters personality to a very high standard, which is very similar to Tracy in some ways like not putting up with people who do not treat her right, but Jess differs from Tracy in other ways by being more compassionate and kinder towards people and Jess likes following the rules too. Even though Tracy is a lovely person deep down she can be misread as she has still has that Tracy temper on her, nevertheless Tracy has been through a lot in her journey. With Jess we know that Tracy has done a very good job at raising her right and wanting the best for her. Another well done to Dani on bringing Tracy’s coolness and attitude back to the screen, whilst showing that Tracy has grown up so much even though she has had a difficult life she has managed to turn out well being a bit kinder and trusting to more people like when she met her arch enemy Justine again it was great to see Tracy give her another chance even though Justine obviously betrayed Tracy’s trust again. Overall such a well acted story and I cannot wait to see more as Tracy’s and Jess story is not over yet anyone who thinks it is can in Tracy’s words BOG OFF!!
Men In Black International brought back memories nice spin on the movie especially with Molly Agent M.
This movie even though I would agree it is not good as the original classic Men In Black Movies with Will Smith as the lead protagonist in. This brought back the franchise with a lovely funny spin to it especially having Molly (Agent M) played by Tessa Thompson was just so refreshing as the men in black agency are normally able to neuralyze everyone that seen anything that is out of the ordinary, nevertheless they missed out Molly who they thought was asleep in her bedroom as a kid. Molly setting out to find this secret agency twenty years later she hacks into a satellite then finds them after everyone thinks she is delusional, which she follows the Men In Black back to the New York Headquarters where she waltzes in through the front door that I thought is hilarious. Having Chris Hemsworth as Agent H (Harry) is so funny as he is kind of your average joker does not care what everyone thinks that does do what he wants when he wants, compared to Molly Agent M played by Tessa Thompson really keeps everything serious and logical while having a laugh from time to time. The random flirtations between the two is just nice to see really does gives Molly Agent M taking control in these flirtations interactions as she is a strong independent woman that knows what she wants and she knows exactly what she is doing, then Agent H (Harry) is much more of a flirtier protagonist that just wings it into action than logically thinks about what he is doing like Molly Agent M does when jumping into any kind of action with danger in. Pawny is just great an Alien who is just as well a bit of a joker he is also very kind and loyal towards his friends especially Molly his queen as he calls her. This movie is great to watch I hope they bring more Men In Black movies in the future as it is starting to show more equality with feminism, which I love that Women can be powerful protagonists too in these films not just your typical damsel in distress. This gives more opportunities to actors where the stories can run wilder becoming less predictable with more of a Gen Z way of life projected across films.
Gives you the chills as MA is properly shattered
This movie is amazing really good horror thriller film to watch so creepy that it gives you the chills as MA all she wanted is people to like her, nevertheless she finds the kids of the parents that bullied her badly when she was younger, where she does an underage booze run then sets up a party in her basement where the only rule is not to go upstairs into as she calls it messy house in the middle of nowhere with no houses or other people about to see and report what she is up to. Octavia Spencer has done an amazing job as MA her acting is on point that it really something different for her as she tends to play nice down to earth characters, where MA is just extremely shattered from being bullied, she enjoys being in control and being the centre of attention. All the while trying to stalk the kids and their parents and trying to get back at their parents in the meantime who bullied her viciously as kids. She also has a condition of Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy where she as a vet nurse tries to use her skills from that job to self medicate especially when it comes to her daughter as she thinks her daughter has something really wrong with her and the doctors do not see it yet MA gives her daughter in perfect health vets medications in her eyes to try and make her daughter better, which is a symptom of this mental disorder, that is caused from her being shattered with humiliation by the kids parents when they were kids. Diana Silvers has done an amazing job too with her phenomenal acting is so on point her character is suspicious of MA from the start where she frequently asks questions about MA being too good to be true, which it comes in handy to protecting them in turn ends up saving their lives before it is too late. Overall loved this movie really gives you the chills while watching it, nevertheless I highly recommend you watching it if you have spare time on your hands you will be so impressed and not regret it. Also Well done to the amazing cast and crew for putting this masterpiece together.
Hilarious amazing lots of travelling, lots of action and special effects A must watch after Endgame Tom Hollands And Zendaya's chemistry is so on point in this movie
This is such an hilarious movie cracking jokes from the start peter having his summer holiday plans rather than taking the whole superhero job too seriously until it is ready to all kick in. We first start off with Peter trying to have his innocent Romantic plan with MJ that of course does not go to plan as after the hilarious ghosting of Nick Fury he tends to hijack their summer vacation even though MJ is the only person on his mind all summer as that is all that he wants to do is spend time with her. Constantly reminded of his Father figure who he loved Tony Stark shown by Iron Man graffiti on the side of the house the beautifully well done at the start really has connotations that there something missing in Peters life his father figure Tony Stark, therefore he thinks he finds it in Quentin Beck also known as by the kids Mysterio, showing that there is more than meets the eye with him as Peter is looking for another father figure as that hole will forever be there where Tony used to be. After screwing up to start off with Peter gets MJ this cute thoughtful gift that really shows his love for her. Not to mention Ned and Bettys cute romantic relationship hitting it off from the start after a cock up Peter pulled from trying to get with MJ, which was hilarious and so cute, so the man in the chair kind of becomes the man with the romance. Peter kind of goes unnoticed by everyone else even when he disappears all most of the time to fight bad guys and this is where MJ'S And Peters chemistry really kicks in as the only person that seems to notice Peter properly and intelligently as MJ is highly intelligent young women I would say more intelligent than Peter even though she does not seem like it until you get to know her when she lets her guard down in front of Peter. MJ starts her investigation for quite some time to try and uncover what Peter is up to having a 67% sureness that Peter is Spider Man and trying to find that out to have more of a romantic connection with him to see if she could open herself up to Peter that she does in a cute and awkward romantic way. Then there is a kiss that they share in the film is truly spectacular as they are well suited to each other and just shows that MJ is more than a damsel in distress kind of bad ass. I hope that MJ becomes a hero herself she kind of is already maybe a Spider Woman even though that is doubtful for the MCU and the Spider Man Films I can still be hopeful as Peter And MJ do work really well together with their amazing romantic cute chemistry. Well Done Marvel and the rest of the cast and crew on such an amazing job with this amazing film look forward to the next Spider Man Films hopefully. Aunt May is just amazing and her not so secret obvious relationship with Happy is just romantic and cute at the same time, which is so nice to see. I highly recommend seeing this film if you have a spare two hours and nine minutes and I highly recommend you watching it at the cinema soon as the atmosphere with everybody laughing and feeling all sorts of emotions together really makes the film too. This is the best Spider Man movie yet truly my favourite Spider Man Film. Zendaya's And Tom Hollands acting is phenomenal as always and their chemistry is just shown onscreen so well.
The synopsis that is given for this series is pretty general. It’s the end of the school year and a high school teacher finds out that some of his kids are being expelled (for various reasons). Him being the compassionate teacher he is, tries to help his kids so they aren’t expelled and stay in school.
And I will admit that is a good hook so someone would want to watch the series. HOWEVER, the show doesn’t just revolve around that synopsis; it’s about much more. While taking a comedic turn, the show does dig into some issues about society, life, etc. while moving on to other matters besides the kids almost being expelled.
Note: there is some cursing as well as sexual references made throughout the show
Pros....
-:asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol: It’s a quick watch:asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol:
You can’t say you don’t really have time for it since it is so compact.
- :asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol:The show is pretty laidback but meaningful:asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol:
Maybe because of its comedic flare, but I didn’t feel as if the show was forced. I actually felt more inclined to listen to the message they were conveying because there wasn’t drama flung ontop of it and not feel cringey about it as if I were watching some Disney shows.
- :asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol:The cast and their acting:asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol:
As bad as it may seem, I knew of Iglesias by face and that he was famous....for what though I didn’t know. After seeing this show that’s when I looked up the cast, and I saw he was a stand-up comedian who delivered everything spectacularly. To be at his level, let alone follow after him would be pretty hard. Yet, as a whole, although the rest of the cast wasn’t as funny as Iglesias, they added their certain charms to their characters. Not only that, you could honestly tell that the cast loved to work with each other.
-:asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol: It hits home:asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol:
There was actually a few spots in the episodes where I felt that this feels so similar to George Lopez. Even my sister who saw a few minutes agreed. And I’m not saying that just because of the comedy, or that the main characters are Latin. No. More because of the issues that are tackled (but in a school setting) but modernizing them. And if you ever had those teachers who actually tried their hardest to teacher, and cared for their students...this makes you miss them to a degree.
Cons....
- At times I couldn’t tell if I was a new day, or the same day
Loved the plot really has revitalised Spider Man
This seems to get to the action instead of messing around telling the same story over again and it is great that Peter is still in school who has got his eye on someone else Liz who is a nice girl, nevertheless the romance damsel in distress does not get in the way of the film like the previous Spider Man. I like the way that the have changed Mary Jane Watson to Michelle Jones as her friend call her "MJ" that we find that out at the end of the film draftee her starting to come out of he shell and open up to Peter A Bit. MJ is completely different character in so many ways a bit of a diva at times and a strong independent girl who keeps to herself and has a shy side and is really lovely and kind when she takes down her barrier and you get to know her, which really does build up the plot, which is instead of putting the typical MJ And Peter Parker love Story together that is just not reality. Loved the Father And Son relationship between Peter Parker And Tony Stark really shows him as a father figure and really does connote the next few films. I would strongly recommend watching this as they have done an amazing job of getting the story right after those other failed moves and the bad guy in this movie is kind of a reference to the green goblin with the green eyes but instead with wings who perter does not know that is so interesting to watch that unfold. Spider Man in the MCU as an Avenger is about time well done Tom Holland And Zendaya and the rest of the cast and crew for doing such an amazing job as all my doubts are gone now and Spider Man is one of my favourite Super Heroes out of the MCU next to Iron Man what a call duo. Peter Parker and his friend Ned is hilarious and how he find out Peter Parker secret identity too as Spider Man is so hilarious too.
I really, REALLY liked it. It does something that's at the basis of my life-long enjoyment of giant monster movies really, really well, and some of the scenes had me bouncing in my seat with joy.
That being said... It's not a movie built along the lines of a modern blockbuster, at least not entirely, and for that I think it's not gonna be a huge tentpole success. People are gonna complain about character choices or dialogues or characterization. It's much more in line with the classic Godzilla formula, and THAT it does really well.
One of the big challenges of a monster movie is always to have a good balance of "monsters fighting" and "humans talking" in a way that builds tension and action, and this one, more than almost any other Godzilla movie, and more than 2014's take, was right on. Monster fights always had clear stakes, and the puny humans buzzing around had clear objectives (even if often it was just 'try and survive in the shitstorm of the century') and felt in their place as supporting characters in the monster drama.
So, in short... If you wanna see a pure, slick action movie, go see John Wick 3. If you want some of that designer-drug concentrated dose of entertainment you expect from a tentpole, you got Endgame. But if you ever felt a thrill watching Godzilla melt the rubber face off of another giant monster, you're in for a hell of a treat.
Overall a good documentary on the events, but the narrative is more partisan than it should be for accuracy purposes.
The ending message of the documentary: don't vote for Trump in 2020 because they're at it again - personally, I think it is a poor way to end when you try your best throughout to seem impartial. I'm not a fan of Trump, but you should abstain from hypocrisy.
The bigger issue, which is touched lightly here, is that the great tech giants are not regulated in the ways they traffic your personal data. Preventing targeted campaigns is crucial, but it comes at a price... user data currently pays for the infrastructure of Google and Facebook, and then some; commercial ads are one thing, political ads are another - only the former should be allowed worldwide, but even then what's the criteria?! There are lots of commercial products which are bad for health, should they be allowed to target the public at all? No, they should not and this conversation also happened with TV ads.
The issues arising from this are deeper and much more complicated than this documentary reveals, but I guess we have to start somewhere. Starting with ourselves, and our lack of understanding about how our data can be subtly used against us.
