Sometimes a show can make you realize, you weren’t just supposed to be skipping along and watching each episode as they come. You were supposed to take a minute, and enjoy the side quests. We aren’t supposed to watch a tv show for the destination.
Wow that was bad. This episode is the culmination of “Oh no! We only have the budget for 2 more episodes! Let’s see how much plot we can forcibly shove down the viewers throat in 5 minutes”
This singular episode, which I initially didn’t think I would like in the beginning, became more incredible than entire movies. It was beautiful, poetic and entirely self encapsulated in a tiny little world where people can still pick out their little slice of happiness.
To all those who hated the episode, replace bill with a female in your head if you have to, but open your eyes to why this story was so fulfilling and poetic in a world filled with meaningless death and endless suffering.
Worthless recap episode. What a let down
Spy x Family new sports Anime spin-off when? That was some phenomenal sports anime work. I could watch that stuff for hours
Okay, you got my attention, I wasn’t really expecting that twist there at the end.
As expected of this genre of Anime, this is exactly what it is intended to be: the obligatory Cute Anime Girls (TM) in bikinis episode. Plenty of thirsting and practically like watching hentai without the sex. Yup.
“Oh I see, you’re young and stuuuupid”
Okay, I have to concur here. That was an absolutely beautiful ending to this series. And man am I a sucker for these perfect Tsundere arcs.
It was completely just recap of pretty much all the bits and pieces of Wakaba that they slowly added through the series so far. Yet somehow it was still a pretty strong emotional episode.
Damn, way to hit you hard right out of the gate.
Hey, I mean, at least they're honest about the fan service
In case it wasn't already obvious, this episode is fully recap except for about 2 minutes worth of content, which you don't actually need to see.
Not a bad start honestly. Put a lot of things in motion and there are some interesting characters so far.
This is unironically one of the absolute best episodes of the season, the fights scenes were good and there wasn't as much blatant "I'm too OP" immediate victory. Too bad this series wasn't completely centered on Shion's travels and the foes she encountered. Her entire storyline is far better than anything presented by the main protagonist.
"I'm gonna survive this, even if it kills me!"
That's not how that works, that's not how any of this works.
All I gotta say is: "Money can't buy waifus!"
Some might call it the obligatory "bikini episode", but actually this episode was filled with all the same great stuff as other Hyouka episodes!
"Can we just be friends???"
Another 90% filler/recap episode. The only new content occurs in the last 6 minutes. This is really starting to get annoying when 20% of this show is recap.
As far as first episodes go, this one was pretty funny
I’d say this was actually a really good first episode. The main character reminded a lot of Light from Death Note, he was cunning and manipulative in a self-serving way. It sets up what could be a nice redeeming arc where he realizes how his manipulations can affect and hurt others.
Oh god the room keeps spinning, that was a horrible experience.
Compared to the other OVA from Season 1, this didn't seem nearly as important to the story and honestly felt a little disjointed.
This episode has confirmed that this series is actually along the lines of a rom-com, I really wasn't sure so far. I wouldn't recommend skipping this even though it is considered a special and doesn't really further the plot.

"Wow everybody in spear guys party is annoying."
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Myne starting forest fires?!! She's going to die to Smokey Bear I bet
The loli party continues to slowly assemble :joy:
"Is it like a Gacha game"
Well you sure got me
