A great Slice of Life romantic-comedy. Initially it is a bit boring but after a few episodes you'll get the hang of it.
It does have too many clichés but if you look past that then this is an amazing show.
Edit: 3rd Season Finished! Among the best romantic-comedy I've watch so far. Fujiwara ROCKS!!!
PS: Anime (Season 3) ends at Volume 14 - Chapter 137 of the manga. Anime has also skipped a lot of chapters in between so it is recommended to read the manga from the start.
I feel like something is missing in this movie. Perhaps beacuse of the novel, even though the movie should explain why her auntie know so much, and it was the big deal of that painting.
And what Makoto meant when she said "I'll come running" to Chiaki after he told he would be waiting her in the future.
Nice little movie. It's got your basic annoying Japanese school angst that treats teen flings like the most serious things in the world, but once you let that aside and accept it, it's a heartwarming tale.
Is not made explicit in the film but I thought it was implied that the "aunt" is actually the main protagonist that decided to study art to restore the painting so it wouldn't be lost in the future. That's how she knows about the time leaping and why she talks about her girlhood crush.
Very similar to the Anime series (which is quite good), the animation and soundtrack is great quality. The story was sweet. Not the best Anime movie I've ever seen, but if you enjoyed the series, you'll likely enjoy this as well.
This was a childhood favorite of mine. Still pretty good to rewatch as well. It's kind of like a more tame version of S.A.O.
"You're an idiot." It's true though.
This show is top-notch! I never was so touched by an Anime and I'm sure I'll revisit this show a lot of times.
I finished it all in one day! One of the best animes, in my humble opinion. Entered my top 3 — 1: Death Note, 2: Erased, 3: Hentai Ouji To Warawanai Neko
Incredibly well done Anime. The characters were well fleshed out and interesting and despite having a fairly simple twist on the world, it makes for a really cool story. For seasoned detective show watcher's, it may be too easy to figure out "who's who." But I still found that I enjoyed it just as much even if I held the correct suspicions well before the reveal. The story was well worth my time and I found myself quite attached to the characters.
"What?! I'm not finished?"
"Haha that's what she said."
It all happened so fast....
I think this film had a bit of a "slow burn" to it. You could feel the tension and the sadness building in Takaki as the story progressed. All the way up until the ending where he finally sets himself free from wishing about "what could've been." It feels almost painfully slow at times because that's what it felt like to Takaki.
The animation, art, and music was phenomenal; as we come to expect from Shinkai. It was a worthwhile film to watch, and while it doesn't leave me in awe of it's power, it still shared its emotion with me.
I enjoyed this series a good deal but it was much too short. The premise was interesting despite a bit of a slow feeling start. It just took awhile for the characters to properly explain the mechanics of the world they were in.
The animations and music were well done, not jaw-dropping but good. The story itself had some good points and I didn’t expect the final twist in the last episode. However, the story still felt rushed and I think I would probably enjoy the story better if I read through Key’s visual novel of this story. If I had to guess, the story is probably more fleshed out and better paced.
Don't let the character design and school outfits fool you into thinking this is one of those cheap high school harem angst show. I was pleasantly surprise how well the characters, stories, and humor were written. One of my favorite series.
Fans of the anime may be interested to know that Key have finally set a release date for the first volume of the upcoming Angel Beats Visual Novel:

Of course, this will be released in Japanese only at first, but with the success of the recent Clannad English release kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sekaiproject/clannad-official-english-release), I am hopeful of an English release someday too :)
There will also be another "Special episode" OVA released around the same time.
Good show but it was WAY too short. This should have been 24 episodes at least in order to really flesh out the other characters and their backstories. Still, it's a great show.
This was the second anime I've seen. I really really enjoyed it, and it's a big reason I kept watching animes! :)
"Get pregnant. Use your body to give the world more Jake."
Absolutely amazing series its an emotional roller coaster it will have you laughing at one point and in tears the next.
The best anime ever produced, ever. You can't go wrong with Clannad.
This Anime is so beautiful and emotional, sad and happy, dark and bright. A good romance Anime can replicate similar feelings to the first season of Clannad. A boy and a girl meet, they slowly fall in love, and by the last episode, they admit their feelings. But the second season of Clannad is what all the fans always ask for: The "after story."
And I can't imagine a better after story than this one. I openly admit I cried in far more episodes than any other Anime. Both out of sadness and happiness. Because that's what makes this Anime so amazing. It is full of ups and downs and has themes of growing up, life, the changing world, and more.
If you are looking to take something out of this Anime, treasure the small things in life, but above all, treasure the gift of life, friendship, and family. There are rarely any do-overs and you only get one. And for the people who do treasure it, their hopes and dreams will lift them up.
Just beautiful. 10/10

This is so far the best anime i've ever watched when it comes to Drama, Romance.
Fantastic story and beautiful characters.
This anime made me cry and depressive in the second Season, but i don't regret a single second of my life when i was watching this anime from start til the end (including the special episodes)
Abseloutly recommending Clannad to anyone who are looking for a new anime to watch
Season 1 Season 2
9.2 / 10 10 / 10Should i recommend the show?
YES. This anime will kill your heart, You abseloutly have to watch it
It was very unique to see such a different ending where almost every other character but Tomoya and Tomoyo completely disappeared from the picture. It may not have been the official story-line, but I think it was wonderful that they explored it here. (Although the academic and delinquent love story feels a tad cliché these days.)
Now let's talk about 5 Centimeters Per Second (warning: spoilers ahead). This episode felt just like the happy version of that film's ending. Instead of the melancholic concept of moving on from your past lover, they decided to stay together after all. The two stories don't match up entirely, but the resemblance is startling. Right down to the final scene being at the railroad tracks and the theme of cherry trees throughout. At this point, I'm fairly certain that the writer decided to pay homage to Makato Shinkai's film since it released about a year before this episode. I would recommend you watch that film (it was really worthwhile) so you can enjoy this episode to its fullest.
This is the most emotional anime that I've ever seen in my life. Probably my favorite anime ever so do what ever you can to watch this ASAP.
We always see the flaws better in others than in ourselves ;)
A movie with a gentle but long-lasting impression. It is one of the movies I love to watch again and again.
Please watch both anime seasons before the movie, it's not a standalone movie, you won't understand much otherwise.
If you are a fan it's a must see movie.
TBh i was scared that this movie was going to suck, BUt dam i was really wrong. It really was a great movie! I really loved the asuna-kirito romance storyline mixed in with the battle storyline. Why couldnt he have done this good on his accel world movie???
love this movie!! But as "mizuirome" said its better to watch the anime then this movie....
It was fine, but not as amazing as they could have made it and this is coming from a true fan who loved the series. The last 30 minutes were much more enjoyable than the rest which was boring at times. 6/10.
Touching, Nostalgic, Absolutely, Wonderfully Magical.
