Don’t trust the good reviews. 80% of this show is the equivalent of watching paint dry. You. Will. Feel. Every. Minute. That. Passes. Unnecessarily long and boring.
Everyone out here complaining about the ending. I’m just really upset my dude died his hair that hideous red color
UPDATE: I saw a movie so beautiful I started crying™
Stop rating movies before you even know they are in production!!!
Quite enjoyed this series/season but didn't like the ending one bit.
This is bad. A bad, slow, poor adaptation from the comics. And, hell, I watched it through 4 1/2 seasons... I mean, c'mon, 1st season is great! 2nd is ok. 3rd is meh. But 4th? 4th is "what the hell are the producers doing to this show?" horrible. And now they announce that the 6th (FU*&%ING 6TH!!!) season will have... ZOMBIES?? Isn't this SUPPOSED to be a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE SHOW? And they announce zombies as if it was a great turn of events in the show... Really? o.O
No, don't bother telling me what happened to the show after the first half of 4th season. I'm pretty sure I can sum that up in only three syllables: "bla bla bla"...
I give it 2 hearts. And that is because 1st and 2nd seasons really entertained me, despite what they did to some characters (like... what? 19 episodes to kill Shane? Seriously? Why? And why is Lori so annoying? Someone please kill her!! \o/ YESSS! Thank you Carl! That's my boy!! Now I can stop watching this crap! Oh no, wait! The Governor appears! YESS!! ............. Aaaaand, he's boring. -_-' ).
This show feels very much like an ensemble piece now.
The amount of characters is huge, it’s almost like an HBO flagship (The Wire, Game of Thrones).
As for the quality of the show, it’s still reliably entertaining and very well produced. It’s still shoving its 80s setting in your face at just about every turn, and the music, visuals and tone are all on point. The writing is also still pretty decent; you’re usually pretty engaged and there’s some great dialogue, but at the same time it can get messy, unimaginative and very predictable.
It’s entertaining and the characters are all great, but the show kinda lacks narrative ambition in order to be more than just pulpy fun. Simple stories tend to work for movies, but not as much for the extended format of a tv show. However, when compared to the recent Star Wars and Marvel output on Disney+, it’s kind of a miracle that this show remains as good as it is.
So, is this show still quite overrated? Yes.
But is it probably more fun and better made than most of the big stuff that’s going to come out in cinemas this summer? Also yes.
Have you watched Not Cinderella's Type [https://trakt.tv/movies/not-cinderella-s-type-2018]? It is an impressively unique retelling to the Cinderella classic, with a modern touch of course. And I have to say, quite an interesting list you have there! :thumbsup_tone2::star_struck:
A cute story with great acting, zero drama and with no hateful characters, this will make your heart flutters... for real!
I'm very thankful that Japan as well as other asian countries are being more open to make LGBT+ stories, this was a huge project with a lot of budget and great actors and for most of us it's one of the best BL's of the year if isn't the best one.
I'm not gonna be dissappointed by the last scene because I'm expecting a second season.
One of the best movies that Disney has made. The visuals and animation is incomparable to any studio (except Disney itself with Pixar) and the story is so well balanced, with (meta-)comedy and drama/suspense mixed so well together. The voice actors really makes you believe in a world where animals can be anthropomorphic and live in a society. A must-watch for children but also anyone who appreciate the beauty of animated storytelling.
It's not supposed to be taken seriously, and that is great. It's not as /dark/ as the original Teen Titans tvshow (or most of DC tvshows, to be honest) but it's silly and funny and that was probably the point. It's a great silly show that makes you laugh. There's nothing wrong with that.
They break up, they reunite, they break up again, they reunite...ad infinitum. This fails to improve on what has come before and is just as bad and predictable as those movies. The actors are good but the dialogue they are given is trashy and unrealistic. Thankfully, there is only book left in the series to adapt... I hope that brings an end to this sorry saga.
Well... I don't have much to say about this it started out really good and then it just stucks on childish scenes like in LBC however technically speaking this side story was WAY BETTER, directing, acting, script, illumination and sound mixing, it would be great if it was it shorter tbh so much refill also I didn't feel the chemistry between the mains, I feel like Gulf (Type) overshadow Mew (Tharn) in almost every scene so it doesn't work for me! Saying all this i need to highlight Kaownah's performance he not only portrayed Lhong really well but he was surprisingly good, he's a young new actor with a wonderful future ahead.
My score: 6.50/10
Great take on a classic character, unexpectedly good and with the best song soundtrack in a while
i dont want to rate it 10, but every time they make a close up shot of SJK's face i just waver. Im sorry pls dont judge me
I'm not sure this show lived up to its 'Destiny'. Even
Rowoon couldn't carry this show with his stunning eyebrows, and rather improved acting.
The main female lead had a bad case of TSTL (Too Stupid to Live) and despite me liking her and rooting for her happy-but-tragic story, the show forgot its strongest elements part way through: the magic, the mystery and the curse. The Red Hand scenes in the first half had such potential, were some of the prettiest and most interesting parts in the first half, and were completely forgotten in favor of a cookie-cutter stalker/psycho rom-com in the latter.
As if we haven't had enough of those in dramaland. They didn't know how to pace the information from their past lives and just trauma dumped it into our main leads - and ours - consciousness with little thought to how that played out narratively.
I would have liked more moments like the early part, almost a gothic mystery moment; instead of focusing on irredeemable villains and toxic, abusive and manipulative coworkers who go unacknowledged.
Sigh, I liked it for what it was. Flawed and ultimately forgettable.
I've lost track on how often the plot changed. Sometimes it felt like I was watching a different drama and had to make sure it's still this one :joy: the first episodes were promising. It was okay but not that awesome as expected.
Literally a Thai live action version of the Japanese Anime Hell Girl.
Short stories of temptation and human lengths to act upon those temptations and the consequences of.
Jealousy, Lust. Etc.
Hell Girl.
I know the first thing you see is the bad rating. But i ask you to trust me when i say this is a good movie - actually a great movie. And the actors are amazing, like Rajit Kappor made me want to become violent because of how annoying they were, and i don't care what you say, being able to make people want to kill your character is a skill. I'm gonna be honest the minute i heard the whitewashed Hindi (being compared to the normal Hindi) i knew this would have a lot of detail, and it did.
I think the only real problem is that they focused on the coming out a lot, but barely explained the backstory like the kiss behind a wall (with a little peek window) was not enough, i needed to know more about Pallevi's younger days
Came back here just to ask: you guysssss - 3rd season WHEN?? We need 3rd season, okay??
Super cute and hilarious. I'm loving it so far!
Ok, so edit after finishing season 1: yes, this drama is cute and hilarious, but it's so much more than that. Here I am jumping through the roof, excited, worried, angry, annoyed, happy and heartbroken, as if all that's happening were happening to me. Changed my rating from 9 to 10 because this one is a genuine gem, a precious darling that's going straight to my favorites.
Second edit after finishing Season 2: I'm even more excited, swooped, annoyed, happy and heartbroken this time. Not sure how this could be possible, but here we are. It's still a 10, and I really hope we get season 3 because otherwise I have no idea what I am to do with all these feelings.
Oh, and p.s. to Yumi: Honey, if you don't want Yu Babi, can you please send him my way? Thanks!
That was so good!
I love how it touched upon the various controversial aspects of the original's story in a tropey yet entertaining way! There were several new characters, all with their own backstories and unique screen personalities, and I truly enjoyed watching their journeys in this fan-made sequel to Zootopia. The main case around which this sequel revolved around was a piece of art! Although the animation was not in a film-like style, it really hit the spot with expressions and everything visual! The music was amazing and the voice acting? It was spot-on.
I don't remember the last time I watched a fanfiction that was this good. A must-watch.
A delightful, ambitious and fun Disney animated film. Definitely their best politically correct movie. That has a smart story about racism while being entertaining without making you roll your eyes.
I was one of the lucky few to attend an early screening, and I must say, this is one of the best Disney movies EVER! The quality of the animation is beyond compare. The story is balanced with deep moments and really great comedic bits, and I couldn't stop myself laughing at each joke and meta-joke the movie threw at me. The cast is great, it's uncanny how much life they are able to give to these anthropomorphic animals. I'm definitely going to see it again when it premieres in a few weeks!
Watching the trailer, I knew this was going to be a funny show. While it was as funny as I thought, I wasn't expecting to be hit with the feels so hard. Also, her dad was awesome and I wish I had a dad like hers.
Simple yet therapeutic. It does not have that complicated kind of plot but you will learn a lot about how to be a decent human being.
First of all, AWESOME OST. Secondly, I'M FREAKIN' IN LOVE!
The ratings are no joke, this show totally did not let my heart take a break even once. It's exciting, cute, emotional, comedic and detailed; all at the same time. GO watch it! (I'm at a loss for words, actually)
The OST, background music, acting, direction, cinematography, casting, dialogues, cut-scenes. Everything about this series was right!
There are so many things I could cover, I don't know where to start due to the sheer perfection of this show. Apart from the incredible acting and cinematography, one that surpassed many good dramas and was also my favourite, the storyline was well-thought and the ending fulfilling. FreenBecky's on-screen chemistry was too good for their first time, and the character dynamics were just amazing. The show actively addressed the problems faced by the LGBTQ community and the fact that there is retribution for all homophobes, very adequately (and more solidly than any other drama I've watched).
I'd definitely reset my mind to rewatch it if I could. Must-watch!
I been waiting more than a year to this drama to air, I can’t believe is already there:sob: The first GL in Thailand im so excitedd. This will make history and definitely open more doors to others GL proyects:heart:
One of my favourite Thai BLs of all time. This series is so cute and I love the acting, I can tell that this pair is off to great things!
This is a high school series in the truest sense, it’s very clean in terms of explicit content so if you’re a fan of spicy BLS, this may not be the one for you but the story is so sweet that I enjoyed it regardless.
This is also one of few shows where the songs in the show are genuinely AMAZING, one of the songs is now my most played song of the year. Highly recommend!
This movie was an interesting take on mental illnesses and their awareness. Since I have only watched the movie, I only know about the story from it. The ending was not something I would have expected, that is the fact that that the worms and humans could actually coexist and the doctor probably had some sort of scheme going on. Although sweet-sounding like a happy ending, I have my doubts about it. I don't know, but I liked the movie anyway.
Overall, it was a good watch. It started off promising with amazing acting, cinematography and an interesting plot. But ended up as an average sci-fi romance with nothing more than a mediocre ending instead. The first half had me quite invested, which is also probably why it was hard to stomach its simple ending. Honestly, I had expected a bomb ending which, happy or not, satisfied the logic and quality that the film had adhered to so far.
7 is a pretty good score either way
