The film doesn’t take itself nearly as seriously as either The Gentleman or Wrath of Man, and that’s a good thing. Henry Cavill is in rare form and the supporting cast of Alan Ritchson, Henry Golding, Alex Pettyfer, and Hero Fiennes Tiffin deliver strong performances.
I love the interplay between Babs Olusanmokun and Eiza Gonzalez, especially her flirtations with the German leader.
The soundtrack was on point too.
Story was a bit lacking and you pretty much know how it's going to end, but I didn't care as I had a ton of fun with this film.
Despite the not so good reviews, I really like this movie! It has the most gorgeous actors and an epic love story in it. It is three hours long but never gets boring, which says a lot about a film. The ending, especially with the Soundtrack is just heartbreaking. But for me, this movie will always be a true epic!
Baby girl went from "what the fudge" to "...motherfucker" in record time. We're only four episodes in, and already, what a turning point. Bravo! 9/10
"There's (absolutely) no fudge here." - Snip-Snip (may he rust in one piece)
Very good concept, but too slow to the point that I stopped watching it and checked the man of recap 4 videos as a recap for the whole series, so I enjoyed 40 mins summary of the whole 4 seasons!
And thank God that I stopped watching it in season 1 because the ending of season 4 (series final) was so bad!
They worked very well, there is entertainment, tension, action etc. it is all there. The series flows like water. I hope I won't be upset because I finished it right away :joy:
RPGs in a nutshell: "Thou shalt get sidetracked by bullshit every goddamn time."
A beautiful conclusion to this limited series. A work of fantastic storytelling that I'm sure people will be talking about for a long time. Captivating from start to finish made this adaptation worthwhile.
A perfect finale, I'll admit I thought maybe we'd get a big battle to end things off (which would've been cool of course) but I love that this finale just stays in line with what the rest of the show has been, incredible dialogue, outstanding character moments and a score that brings out the emotions at the perfect time. That final scene was so touching too, seeing where Blackthrone started with that village / Toranaga and where he ended up with both of those things, beautiful
One of the most captivating shows of the decade ended with this episode. I can’t sing Shogun enough praise. What an absolute masterpiece.
Maybe they’ll continue it, maybe they won’t. I know I’ll be following the crew to see what they do next.
I won't lie, I actually liked the previous episode more. It was a good ending, but it could have ended a bit further into the future, leaving the rest to our imagination isn't too much of a problem. I could listen to Lady Ochiba's speech for hours, she is magnificent. The conversation between Toranaga and Yabushige was really good too. Thank you for one of the best series of recent times. Here's hoping to see more productions that portray Japanese culture and history in such a high-quality manner...
I secretly wanted Fuji and Anjin to be together, I'm sorry Mariko-sama. (˘・_・˘)
"Why tell a deadman the future?"
I couldn't have asked for a more fitting finale for this "piece of an art" mini-series. The bar was set high. It could've been either like the GoT finale or Breaking Bad finale. So glad they stayed consistent from start to finish. Undoubtedly, this ranks among the greatest miniseries ever produced.
Many people may be dissatisfied with the finale if they expected to watch an all-out war, which contradicts the entire idea of the show.
Michael Rapaport dieing is always gonna be great television. All my homies hate Michael Rapaport
Finch and Bear adventures :hearts: Michael Emerson is stellar as ever. Can't wait to see where it all leads.
Also still don't care about Brotherhood wannabe guy.
Goggins' Ghoul just seems like a poor man's western Deadpool atm so no wonder people are all over him. Hoping for a bit more depth there.
All in on Lucy's journey. Wanna see her slowly become a surface badass. Why tf couldn't she get a weapon from Ma though!
The best machine gun drone I have ever seen.
Damn it, I really liked Yabushige.
Such a powerful episode. Anna Sawai is making more and more name for herself. Her perfomance in this episode was once again outstanding.
I love their story so much.
Best ep todate. The directing reminds me of The Boys. The driving POV by Frank is a new one in kdramas.
The Best Ep until now.
I have always appreciated Walton Goggins as an actor, since the days of Justified. And even from this first episode, The Ghoul seems like a character that would be right for him. And everyone wants to save the world anyway, but they just disagree on how.
Never played the games, seemed boring to me (couldn't we get a show about Bioshock? The first one of course?!)
Anyway, it's ok so far, don't know if I'm sticking to it. We'll see.
I only ever have played Fallout 4 so I certainly don’t know all the details about Fallout lore, but to me they are capturing the Fallout feel really well.
Overall, they are setting up an intriguing story with interesting characters that will certainly cross paths at some point. The directing style and storytelling really remind me of Westworld S1, especially the fight sequence in the vault. Good to great start to the show, hope they can keep it going.
Man that bus scene got me emotional, something so simple yet it meant so much for the bus driver
The Talented Mr. Ripley is good, but not great. The locales are beautiful, and it does have some nice plot twists. Jude Law is outstanding in this one and Phillip Seymour Hoffman is excellent in his small, but crucial roll.
It's so hard to heap enough praise on this show and do it justice. The complexity of the story, the beauty of the land. The cinematography, direction, acting from the stars to the extras, and crew giving 100% to the production of this masterpiece, it's such a pleasure to watch.
Such a beautifully told story.
