Little slow in the beginning, but the end is all worth it!
AWESOME!
I just wanna EAT Logan Lerman in this movies. He's STUNNING playing Charlie, STUNNING! I would never guess he was THAT GOOD of an actor. I'm amazed by everything, but mostly by him. I hope he gets nominated for an Oscar, he deserve it.
with so many negative reviews i wasn't expecting much of it.maybe that´s why it was a big surprise. its not a comedy masterpiece, but it mad me laugh a few times and i liked the chemistry between them. i guess this can be called a guilty pleasure for me.
Love you and your diamond pussy, Natasha! You're a freakin' angel. This comedy special is genius, 10/10 would recommend.
Despite some disappointing reviews I've read about Addicted to Fresno, I actually really enjoyed it! The casting was great for starters, Greer and Lyonne played the perfect parts for sisters Shannon and Martha. Don't believe everything you read, if you're a fan of comedy and enjoy the cast I think this movie is for you!
Absolutely loved. My 2nd favourite film of year (behind Mad Max)
I thought this was an amazing movie. It's called slow, but I don't think it's ever a dull movie. Really good story in my opinion.
Cute little movie with a warming plot.
It's a bit slow, but still a beautiful movie.
Artistically directed by Danny Boyle and featuring finely wrought performances, Steve Jobs is an engrossing character study, leaving its audience captivated as well as educated.
Really interesting and thought provoking - highly recommended.
This movie takes no hostages... The driving was absolutely top notch, the special effects were beyond good and although the action was relentless, it never once felt fatigued or over done. This movie delivers on all its promises. If you want a pure action flick that wastes no time, Mad Max Fury Road is it!
One of the best compliments you can give to a movie is that it takes you and wouldn't let you go before the end credits. That's what Max Mad did to me. The whole movie is so intense that my eyes were glued to the screen. The cinematography is gorgeous and make a world come to life. The main characters feel real and you can rely to them. I like it when a main characters isn't the 'invulnerable' hero, so you feel more tenses in the scenes because 'it could go wrong for him'. All this is directed in a perfect way. All of the action is filmed with a steady cam, thank god! No shaky cam but steady and wide shots which make the action scenes a real experience. I have no real faults with this film, I loved it from begin to the end. So I would recommend it for everyone who wants an awesome 2 hours.
This is one of my absolute favourite shorts. I just want to watch this little birdie all day long!!!
"If my best friend hides his farts from me then what else is he hiding from me, and why does that make me feel so alone?"
Honestly, I am just glad a movie like Swiss Army Man exists.
Coming from the directors of the "Turn Down for What" music video comes one of the weirdest films I have ever seen in my entire life. The film opens with Hank (Dano), attempting to hang himself on a stranded island, but instead ens up finding Manny's (Radcliffe) deceased corpse wash ashore. After this, Hank discovers Manny is not only just alive, but he has an array of unexplained supernatural abilities, including an "erection compass" (I shit you not), extreme flatulence, super human strength, and even more.
The film's premise is so bizarre, but it constantly manages to be relatable, no matter how crazy the movie continues to get. The film feels rewarding as you watch it, and not just based on a gimmick to show a bunch of dumb stuff happen on screen for 90 minutes. The film has an apparent purpose, and thats what makes it stand out; Beneath all the insanity, it has a lot of heart.
The cinematography is beautiful, and coupled with the score, there are many scenes in this movie which are absolutely serene
Its well acted, its genuinely hilarious, and it really will make you think at times - which was a pleasant surprise, to be honest. My only gripe with the film is that the third act (the last twenty minutes to be specific) drags on too long and the momentum is somewhat lost by the time the credits roll by.
All in all, Swiss Army Man is an extremely enjoyable film, and one that truly is memorable, especially in a time when we're constantly being plagued by sequels and unnecessary reboots.
I wanted to love this so much, but it just felt... Empty. The characters didn't connect at all and the Fantastic Beasts themselves felt like an afterthought to the franchise they're actually trying to build.
Overall a watchable movie with some charming moments but damaged by a muddy story and atrocious pacing. I expected more from the HP universe.
Not quite as fantastic as I hoped it would be... in fact at times it was downright boring. Sometimes the film falls flat, the actors (or characters) not always connecting in an interesting way. There is scope for the franchise, Newt is an interesting character but Redmayne (who I think is a great actor) played him too low key and that didn't work for me.
However, I will probably watch it again. The story gets more interesting as it progresses but not as magical as I thought it would.
AND... Johnny Depp, I love you, I really do... but gone are the days when a cameo by you in a pivotal role is a surprise, its just tired filmmaking.
I was really looking forward to this movie but was utterly disappointed. The story was just flat and didn't really connect well. At least there were a few funny moments and the soundtrack as well as effects were great. The actors were not that good and most of the story was predictable – so no surprises as with the original Harry Potter franchise.
It seems like two movies combined. One about this guy having to recover his missing pets and another about solving the mystery of what's causing chaos in New York. The two aren't particularly connected.
The result it's a fun a wonderfully magical movie that feels a little bit empty the more you think about it. I wished it was actually about Newt traveling the world discovering creatures; instead, he tells amazing stories about his travels that we never get to see.
Absolutely Amazing! I'm at a loss for words regarding why people dislike this movie so much. It's insane! Krampus might not be a masterpiece the way Trick 'r Treat is, but it sure ain't that far off. 9/10 - Superb!
Thanks to inspired creature effects, strong performances and a perfect balance between laughs and scares, Krampus deserves to become a perennial Christmas horror classic.
If you're looking for an action and "turn brain off now" film, just don't watch it and spare us the 6-7 hearts review.
I for one, am very tired from 500$m crap like Indi Day and Marvel's poop. So I was very excited to watch this one.
This one is more like Spielberg's Encounters from the Third Kind. It's more about the characters in the film and the amazing journey they go through. It's mostly about the human behavior that will make you think.
While it's not an End of the World aliens movie like Battle: Los Angeles, it still offers great amount of military presence and plenty of stuff that's going on.
So if you actually want to care about an intelligent movie and use your head - go. Otherwise, go watch an X men.
Highly recommended for some audience 10/10.
2-feb-2017 edit: Just came out on Bluray and I saw it again. Definitely keeping my rating.
Watching again at July-2023, excited towards Dune II : Excellent. Excellent film. So called plot-holes listed here are negligible when the overall product is really thoughtful and masterfully crafted.
This was a really sweet, cute, and funny movie. Also Zach Galifianakis voicing the Joker > Jared Leto acting as the Joker.
To call this another Marvel winner would be an understatement.
Volume 2 is the best cinematic experience I've had in a long time. The action is great, the various cameos hilarious, the effects awe-inspiring and the laughs frequent and well-placed (one of the few gripes I had with Doctor Strange). And in the midst of all this, what really drives the story and keeps the audience interested is the character development. The heroes with which we fell in love in Volume 1 become deeper and multilayered, and the new additions add fantastic new dynamics.
While still falling victim to some minor storytelling tropes, GotG2 is the epitome of the spectacle movie.
I like most the work from the director even if Blair Witch sucked. Not entirely white washing when L. is black. Hollywood needs to realize there's more than two races.
Definitely need more Japanese actors. Plus a 90 minute film based on one whole season. I hope that's not another Last Airbender I am smelling
Truly a beautiful story told in a very interesting and emotional way. The success of one of the greatest hero\brand in the world contrast with the story of his recently "discovered" cocreator. Bill Finger's credits is not just a win for his family or his legacy, is a win for what is right and what is fair, after all, isn't that what Batman is all about?
This is such a weird and interesting movie. This goes from an off beat rom-com to something much darker. I enjoyed the tone change and I didn't go into this wanting to question the laws of physics but just let the story unfold. You will enjoy this much more if you suspend your beliefs in the laws of nature. Anne Hathaway was great and I enjoyed Jason Sudeikis for the most part even though his character started acting like a dick.
I love love loved this. I knew a good bit of the plot going in so thought there wouldn't be much left but there is.
Great performances from all and especially Anne!
I had previously seen Timecrimes and loved it, then I saw Open Windows and thought it was ok so I went in thinking this would be another dip and it wasn't.
