Love you and your diamond pussy, Natasha! You're a freakin' angel. This comedy special is genius, 10/10 would recommend.
scary. real horror. good story. but end is little bit stupid for me sorry not sorry 7 stars.
Quirky. Had some good laughs. Definitely worth the watch.
The first half was good. It made sense. Slow, but the cinematography worked fell its favour. It had a feeling of mystery. The second half (marked by the first erection) was when it turned into an incoherent wannabe shock fest. Still, it looked great and I liked the music. Overall, some of the dialogue was interesting, but sometimes it pushed too far into the unrelatable or cryptic. I wanted way more actual plot in this movie. There were way too many unanswered questions in this movie, and they could have been interesting to resolve. If the description of the movie hadn't told us the setting, how would we even know? I've read negative reviews about it being artsy and pretentious. I think it is. However, it's probably one of the better artsy and pretentious movies. I actually finished it. I laughed a few times at the ridiculousness of it, when it wanted to be serious. The problem with movies trying to explore the darker places of human nature is that they can end up being a cliché weird sex movie. That is nothing new.
Totally unpredictable and absolutely brilliant. Can't recommend this one highly enough.
I experienced I liked some of the Marvel movies less when I watched them a second time. Not his one, though.
Clearly a step up from Thor: The Dark World. Action is really good so is CGI but this also has a good plot. Not that it is very original - I mean conspiracies and evil that wants to take over the world are as old as cinema itself. But here it is something you can actually see happen. What is said in the movie that you can´t take away freedom it needs to be given away (not the excat line but the meaning is the same) seems to become truer every day. Even outside the MCU it makes sense. Not with an Organisation like Hydra but actually with real governments.
Used this film to bring in the new year and what a great idea that was. James Franco deserves every single nomination that he's getting from playing Tommy and the film is excellently put together, although the section at the end lasted a bit longer than I would have liked.
Anyway, how's your sex life?
This is a fun "turn your brain off" movie. Plenty of jokes, decent action, and all around great performances. Jack Black really being the standout with the gender swap. Some nice call backs to the original without making it necessary to have seen that. There is enough here that everybody should have a good time watching this.
Good for what it is. A bit amateurish at times concerning directing and acting, but the music was good (Shooting Guns), the idea was fun and overall the production value was above average for a low budget film.
There is nothing PC about this movie. It sums up baby boomer attitudes pretty spot on.
An action movie with a touch of Lovecraftian Horror. Ron Perlman is unbelievably good in the lead role. His performance is physical, funny, soft and even sensitive when it needs to be. The Abe Sapien character played by Doug Jones is cool and I'm glad to see the character get a larger role in the "Hellboy II: The Golden Army" sequel.
The creatures are plentiful and the practical effects are a standout. Having Nazis and Rasputin as bad guys certainly provides a significant challenge to the team of super-powered good guys, as well.
As with all Del Toro creations, this is a great looking movie. It's one of my favorites of the "superhero" genre.
I like most the work from the director even if Blair Witch sucked. Not entirely white washing when L. is black. Hollywood needs to realize there's more than two races.
Definitely need more Japanese actors. Plus a 90 minute film based on one whole season. I hope that's not another Last Airbender I am smelling
This was way better than expected! Had a slow beginning but when it started, it really took off. Loved, loved, loved it!!!
not the best horror/comedy movie in the world, but definitely a great one!
cool directing, nice cast and crazy script lmao
Jeremy Saulnier and Macon Blair are fantastic filmmakers. I can't wait for whatever they are doing next.
I loved this movie! Great tribute to The Room, it brought a lighter theme to a much judged movie. This movie is one where anyone can feel a deep connection to the story; to have a great dream and attempt to pursue it, despite society's opinion. Made me laugh a lot more than I thought it would. My favorite part would have to be the amazing acting between the Franco brother's. I completely forgot that they were brothers, their acting was just that amazing.
Wow. Brilliant movie! crazy ensemble cast!! James' performance as Wiseau is spot on and amazing! (I actually cried tears when watching this surreal unbelievably true story!) ...and wow Dave as Greg (Hot and Hot) amazing performance from the whole crew of this film!
I still watch The Room! Alot! more than 100 times... Top F*cking Notch!
and now The Disaster Artist is a brilliant tribute to the man man that followed his dreams for all his friends and fans and cult following! :)
both movies are on Must-Watch lists everywhere!
WolfCop can be compared to Hobo with a Shotgun. It's a feature film made from a trailer of a competition for some Canadian cinema with the prize money of $1 million.
You can guess it's concept from the title so if you want a heavy drinking cop going all hairy this is the movie for it. Despite being sometimes a bit too cheesy it's fun for what it's worth.
It's a fun lighthearted Marvel movie. There are some jokes and some cool action. I think Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly work great together. Michael Pena has some great scenes. Judy Greer and Bobby Cannavale are wasted. Randall Park is a nice addition while Laurence Fishburne and Walton Goggins were just ok. Hannah John-Kamen's Ghost is a decent villain. Way better than some early MCU villains but a big step down from Thanos and Killmonger. It's a good time but nothing serious.
After the second watch I really love the father daughter stuff. Randall Park still stands out and Luis and his crew are great too. I hope to see a lot more of them. This is still really funny and a lot of that has to do with Paul Rudd's delivery and charisma.
I liked it but didn't love it it. There were a few great moments and some eye rolling moments. The visuals looked great for the most part except for all the flashing lights that bothered me. Too many new characters introduced too quickly and the plot is silly but it's still a Star Wars movie.
Edit: I liked it a little bit better the second time knowing what was going to happen and just enjoying the ride. The plot and pacing are a mess but there are a lot of great moments. The action is pretty good and the CGI looks great except for flashing lighting is annoying. The weakest of the sequel trilogy but better than the prequels.
Absolutely loved. My 2nd favourite film of year (behind Mad Max)
I definitely thought this movie was going to be cheesy at first, but it turned out to be very funny. I thought a lot of the jokes in the movie flowed very smoothly and made it seem natural rather than being made to seem like the actors are trying to be funny. I would not mind seeing this again in theatres.
Crazy action sequences. Really intense, with some impressive choreography. It's not a completely shallow action flick either, with its interesting, if a little convoluted plot. Really impressed.
I'm struggling to keep up with all the levels of meta involved in bringing the story of the making of Tommy Wiseau's The Room to the big screen, but James Franco, with his astute and respectful direction really pulls it off. I laughed hard throughout, both with and at the cast who were clearly in love with the material and with Wiseau himself.
I've not seen The Room, but I'll change that as soon as I can.
Oh...and the soundtrack was immense!
Terrific film. Great performance by Boris Karloff. Being 1932 there are a lot of elements left from the Silent era, so I can see why modern audiences don't get it. A treasure for those that can appreciate classic film.
Truly a beautiful story told in a very interesting and emotional way. The success of one of the greatest hero\brand in the world contrast with the story of his recently "discovered" cocreator. Bill Finger's credits is not just a win for his family or his legacy, is a win for what is right and what is fair, after all, isn't that what Batman is all about?
This may look like a terrible movie but it's actually pretty good. It's funny and not all of it is stupid humor. The acting all around is great. John Cena is a standout here, I can see him having a real long comedy career. It has interesting and fleshed out characters and best of all it has a wonderful story with a good message. Kay Cannon has a winner for her directorial debut.
It seems like two movies combined. One about this guy having to recover his missing pets and another about solving the mystery of what's causing chaos in New York. The two aren't particularly connected.
The result it's a fun a wonderfully magical movie that feels a little bit empty the more you think about it. I wished it was actually about Newt traveling the world discovering creatures; instead, he tells amazing stories about his travels that we never get to see.
Serotonin levels are going through the roof. Completely wacky and out there but it’s something the world really needs right now and somehow it just.. works? It keeps you invested throughout despite the crazy story it’s got going on. This would’ve been amazing to see at the cinema but I’m so glad I didn’t have to wait another goodness knows how long to finally see it. Finally, 3 words. Jamie. Dornan. Seagulls. This scene alone is worth the rental price. Do it if only to see that part, you won’t regret it
James Franco really gives a great performance here. The movie starts a little slow but once they start making the movie it picks up. A lot of funny parts in this one. You don't need to see The Room to like this movie but you should to get a better appreciation for what Tommy was able to do.
