Full Season of 7 shows starts in the UK on the 18th June 2011
You shouldn't watch the two (maybe 3) last season, it kind of ruins everything. But the begining of the show is great
DAIR DIARAIDAIR IDAIRIADIAIRA
Loved it in the beginning. Being on the CW I was ready to insta-hate it, but was surprised ep after ep that I was entertained. No, the acting is far from superb, but the storyline is actually pretty interesting.
It's definitely gotten worse though. The first season I was really into. Marathoned it. The second was okay; one episode--where they introduce Barry--was really super corny & cliche. This current [third] season was getting pretty good but then they started this theme of introducing a new villain at the end of each ep along with a really cheesy catch phrase. Terrible. So hopefully they stop that and bring it back to goodness. Cuz that would be good.
Overall, I'd say that this drama is one of a kind. It focuses more on the political side of society, but without making it super boring and also adding a lot of twists. There are a lot of action scenes that I find really entertaining and they were acted out really well by Minho and all the supporting characters.
However, I can't really say I feel the chemistry between the 2 main leads. Their romance was good at some parts, but overall it was really weird to me. It was kind of like an unrequited love, and so they didn't get to interact much with each other. I found it weird that I ended up rooting for the relationship between the 2 side characters, Young-joo and Sae-hee rather than Yoon-sung and NaNa.
The ending seemed really rushed, random, and wasn't a satisfying way for me to end the series. It was like they decided on a certain ending, but then changed the idea halfway through and just put it all together to make the ending. It was an "okay" ending. I'll just leave it at that.
I didn't like the ending, but the drama, as a whole, was nice to watch, and I found that it didn't drag on too much and each scene fulfilled its purpose. The show was interesting to watch from the beginning, but it gets even more intense near the end, and so I would recommend this drama to people who love to watch action or solve mysteries.
Season 1 was very entertaining, a strong element of surprise with plot-twists throughout. Season 2 it all went to crap. Season 3 has that looming 'cancellation' feel. The episodes play on, but don't hold my attention like season 1. Many of the characters I'm not all that familiar with, and I don't care. Once great, now junk :-(
They should've made it a 1-season limited-event show, with a resolution but still open enough to allow future limited-event seasons.
Storywise it is not the greatest thing, but damn the martial arts scenes are incredibly well done and make up for it! If you like the fighting genre (IP Man) you will definitly enjoy this, otherwise you should probably skip this.
Daniel Wu and the Barons are of interest, the other characters are shallow imo
OMG this writing on this show is superb best story telling in a long time to come along. It will make you laugh and cry and that was only the first episode. I am not even going to spoil this because you have to watch the story and you will be amazed how this story is told.
I think the casting for Darcy & Lizzie is what threw me off and didn't make me enjoy this as much as I would've liked to. It didn't feel like Pride & Prejudice at all.
Amazing show. I was wondering what the fuss is all about until I started watching it, then I just couldn't stop.
This is one of the best series I've ever watched! Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Watson (Martin Freeman) make a great team on the screen. The episodes are more like short movies (1,5 h) and even though there are only 3 episodes per season and about one seaon in 1,5 years, Sherlock is definitely worth the wait and worth watching!
Only problem is Irene Adler's portrayal and their treatment of her story.
Good acting, it is a shame they went with the Scooby Doo writers guild. They had so many options for the writers to do more than making just another cop show. Zombies, crime writers, cops from the future, people with amnesia all fighting crime. Seems that the only professions that exist in TV land are cop, cop sidekick, doctor or lawyer.
This must be the weakest devil portrayal ever. and so boring.
First episode was a little slow and confusing, there's a lot of characters and setting up the plot, should be easier for someone familiar with the work. After each episode it just keeps getting better, after the show completes I would have to rate the entirety very high. It comes full circle and covers all types of aspects of love, betrayel, and war. Top notch acting by the entire cast and some of the most beautiful shots. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a deep show and willing to push past the first episode.
I just absolutely, completely loved this! I started watching this with very low expectations and I think I've always been put off by the title "war and peace" to be honest. It makes it sound so flat and boring but this really was anything but boring! Great story, great acting, great characters, great everything.
I'm off to read the book now because I have to have more of this.
It's a regular CW drama, however:
(1) The aesthetics are AMAZING, it's really pretty. Prettier than most shows out there. The photography, the wardrobe and scenary and all of it. 10/10 aesthetics.
(2) The characters are appealing and captivating.
(3) The show has a great tone on some subjects like feminism and homophobia, etc.
(4) It's fairly well developed - it seems a little silly at the beggining but it gets better and better.
(5) I liked it 'cause it's entertaining and I'm hooked.
After 3 episodes, the jury is still out. It's watchable, but I feel it might get stale very quickly. I'll definitely find out.....
Always a fan of good US political drama. Saddly this is just not clever enough. Predictable and clichéd. Trying to throw in action to keep the story growing and the background conspiracy is just that, in the background. Poor character development as few, including Sutherland, seem to get much in the way of plot or screentime. I will give it a little longer but never going to compare with the West Wing or Veep. Consider Madam Secretary instead...
So have finally got round to completing the show. Great premise, storyline was all over the place and tried to make itself clever whilst dumbing itself down at the same time. A real wasted opportunity which needed a better approach behind the scenes. US politics is primed for a decent show at the moment and this is not it...
Intelligent, twisting, gripping, well written and well acted. Definitely worth a watch. Netflix gives you options - mine was the original German with English subtitles. That’s my recommendation.
Altough I'm german I rarely check out german TV shows. The last one was Deutschland 83 and that was like two years ago. Germany just hasn't figured TV out yet but that's another discussion.
When I heard Netflix was producing a german show I just had to check it out because Netflix has a great track record so far and Germany does have talent infront and behind the camera. But overall I think this show just fell flat. Good, but nothing great.
Fantastic visuals that are shot very beatifull, the actors IMO are mostly great and the music/score can be beautiful but often gets obnoxious. But unfortunetly there are too many characters that are hard to keep track off which distracts from the story.
The story is already confusing enough even without trying to keep up with the many characters over different decades and it heavily sets up future seasons without answering a lot of questions about this one and just left me unsatisfied at the end.
Still worth watching tough IMO and very bingeable similarly to Stranger Things.
But if you do watch it then choose the subbed version. I checked out the dub really quick and it sounded horrible. And also don't browse your phone as you might do on other shows. You're going to miss so much important shit.
EDIT after Season 2:
I'm not actually sure what just happened and what I think about it. But the one thing I'm sure of is that the casting in this show is absolutely phenomenal. The actors look so much like their younger counterparts that I'm not fully convinced they aren't actually related.
Plus the cinematography is still fantastic and the music monatages are really beautiful (and they got rid of those obnoxious sound effects).
And altough the story is still very confusing I found it more easier to follow and more engaging than Season 1 because I now know all the charcters and their background. And it seems that the writers had this all planned out and aren't just making shit up as they go.
Changed my rating from 8 to 9.
EDIT after my first rewatch just before S3 is released.
Changing my rating again. This time to a 10. After S1 I thought it was good but confusing show (8), after S2 I thought it was great and really well thought out one (9). Now after rewatching both seasons for the first time I think the show is fucking masterpiece. (10). Once you can watch it without being confused and actually knowing what is happening your just in awe throughout all of it.
If they stick the landing with season 3 it could be up there with the best ever.
EDIT after Season 3
Masterpiece. Simple as that.
Writing. Directing. Cinematography. Casting. Acting. Soundtrack. Everything is perfect.
I'm going to miss the beautiful music montages at the end.
Overly convoluted with characters that are difficult to keep track of and very little by way of payoff at the end of the season.
The quality of this show surpassed all my expectations, practically blew it out of the water. Phenomenal actors with a great story and deeply thrilling story line. Hugh Laurie takes his role to another level, perfecting the role of the genius arms dealer. And Tom Hiddleston is not just the powerful Loki of Asgard but a multi talented actor pulling off a fantastic role in this how. You get pulled into a very complex story, and it feels like a Bond movie but with more complexity and I enjoyed every moment of it.
This quality of work is a rare find for this type of production and should not be missed. I really do hope that there will be a follow up with the same crew of people who put this amazing show together.
this is a funny, well written thought out, kids cartoon thats underrated and I wish was talk about more, the charactes are more realistic and there are good lessons being taught that are also more realistic, I love this show
Exceptional. A feel good show. Every episode is self contained and has a good message for the kids. Happy endings guaranteed. Characters are really fleshed out and vivid. Especially the side characters. Loved it.
Well, I just finished the series. What do I think?
WandaVision began with a solid start. The whole sitcom format was always engaging, as it paid homage to a genre and era of television I haven't experienced. With these first few episodes, the mystery that follows each strange happening was interesting and had me excited to see the next episode. I wanted to see Wanda deal with her grief and come to terms with her reality.
Darcy Lewis, Jimmy Woo, and Monica Rambeau appeared, and I have to say the show lost some of my interest. Seeing Monica reappear in a post-snap world was exciting, and Jimmy Woo and Darcy Lewis were entertaining as hell! I was still curious about what was going to happen next, but I was a little weary.
Then the last few episodes rolled around. Monica Rambeau suddenly gets powers (for no reason?), Agatha pretends she's all-knowing by spewing exposition, and the show drops Quick Silver, Rambeau, Woo and Darcy to give Wanda and her family more screen time.
Finally, the last episode disappoints. I was so bored watching CGI fights that have no substance underneath them. Vision talking to the other Vision was cool and probably the best thing in the last three episodes. But then we go back to Wanda. She figures out that she's torturing people and finally lets go of her fake reality. But not because she's learnt to deal with her grief but because... uh... I don't know.
She lets go of her fake reality, and this happens,
Monica Rambeau: "They'll never know what you sacrificed for them."
Wanda Maximoff: "I wouldn't change how they see me."
But she sacrificed nothing; she was holding these people hostage, torturing them; she gave up a fantasy for them. Way to go, Wanda! Afterwards, she runs off to a cabin and doesn't have to face any consequences for her villainous actions. Yay!
So I guess the show is about how we're all destined to do terrible things and get away with it?
Overall, WandaVision is a fun time. Although the sitcom stuff had me weary, I preferred it to the answers we got in the last few episodes. Sometimes, the mystery is better than the answer.
TECHNICAL SCORE: 6/10
ENJOYMENT SCORE: 5.5/10
