@allthingsanthony you are correct.. this comment was from 2010 when I was pumped about the walking dead. It has, unfortunately, outlived it's own success and is now.. I dunno, very meh.

I really don't get why people are fond of this show. Is it only enjoyable when you have read the book or what? It's just weird. The plot is all over the place and the cast is it's biggest problem.
Ricky Whittle has the same emotional range as Jason Statham aka just 1 face all the time. Ian McShane is playing a mix of the Godfather, Mr. Miyagi and... I don't know who, it's just weird. Czernobog played by Peter Stormare has a russian accent. Really? The one guy who has done 100 Italian roles is casted for a russian role? Technical Boy can't be liked by anyone born earlier than 2000 and so on.

@oiwwksdt-sharklasers-com hey peter stormare has been playing a russian since 1999! Armageddon!

MEMENTO MORI
-13-

As soon as they introduced Billy Ruso I wondered if they got the guts to turn him into Jigsaw.
After last Episode I thought they could actually do it.
And as I saw the mirror I knew: They are fucking doing it!
Can't whait to find out what his face will look like.

Never thought a ride with a carousel would be so intense!^^

Last four Episodes where insane!
I was most surprised by the gore.
Maybe one of the best Marvel Shows!
Hell, it is!

Jon Bernthal is the Punisher!
No doubt about that!

@signoftheshadow Yeah! Totally awesome casting. Downside is that Sony is still running the show. Hopefully Fleischer can bring some good directing and even it out. Hopeful!!!

If Stephen King and Steven Spielberg had a baby, this is EXACTLY what it would look it.

I was gonna say it was like if Stephen King wrote the Goonies. You analogy works better though!

You can't knock the acting. The premise seems relevant (The majority of this is me confusing Andrew Ross Sorkin with Aaron Sorkin). I don't know if I just need to give it more time or if I'm too well-read about these types of people and financial crash that it's hard to for me to feel hooked. The fantasy of a newsroom that didn't suck in The Newsroom I bought. An idyllic President and complicated staff I went in for with The West Wing. Watching rich people spend money and debate numbers and a sort of dreamlike example of a prosecutor to pursue them...I guess it just makes me sad. That's not the shows fault of course, but glorified versions of billionaires that almost celebrates their bad boy getting away with it all maybe hits a little too close to home. I love Damien Lewis after Homeland, but his character I want to burn, and not because he has to work that hard to be hated. I think about Entourage where at least they're childish mockeries of the lavish lifestyle and attitudes and the show could kind of make fun of itself. Or Ballers tends to lean well on the humor to distract from the slackish story. We'll see where it goes.

FYI, the Aaron (Ross) Sorkin working on Billions isn't the screenwriter. He's a financial analyst the show picked up.

It was pretty good up until that last scene with Ben waking up again... it didn't make any sense and ruined everything.

I thought it made sense. The psycho kids got out of the ark (which was very well armed) and took the city back from the adults. It did leave a lot of things open ended.. but hey.. that's what tv shows do now a days. It's not about telling a complete story, it's about getting that next season.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

I confess I was not the greatest admirer of the The Amazing Spider Man reboot in 2012. Many things did not please me in the film, perhaps derived from the fact that Sam Raimi's trilogy is still very present in my memory. When the trailer of the second film came out, raised a little more enthusiasm in me, but what is certain is that I have been delaying is viewing until now.

Unfortunately, The Amazing Spider Man 2 returned to disappoint me. I was able to enjoy more of it, perhaps because although there is a mess to the mix, it can be a bit more dynamic and have some good action scenes but I still find some problems that do not please me.

The plot is a little confusing. Everything happens at the same time without having any character development. Things just happen and it's all very rushed and stop at the same point, the romance between Peter and Gwen. It seems to me that the main focus of this film was exactly their relationship between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy. We already know that they love each other, why focus constantly throughout the film that?! However this time, I enjoyed the chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone more.

The villains are poor explored. And after all how a superhero film can work well without good villains? Jamie Foxx as Electro and Dane DeHaan as Green Goblin could have had much more screen time and they should have been explored in more detail. Contrary to this, their scenes always seem to be a bit rushed. Paul Giamatti, an actor I admire, has an absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary role in this film.

I'll just not give the same negative note I gave the first film because I can not deny that this time I could enjoy more of this new "Spidey".

So the one rebuttal I will add is that Paul Giamotti's character is to set up the next in the series. They're going to do something with the sinister six.

I agree there are things wrong. The sequel did not strengthen the franchise.

Also, Andrew Garfield makes a much better Spiderman than Tobey Maguire.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's better than Homeland, but that's because I love Homeland and it's character development and intertwined plot lines.

That said, I was shocked at how much I enjoyed this show. I was expecting more nbc drivel.. you know.. good for background noise while you're, say, working on a website (Flashback springs to mind..). I ended up completely focused on the show, so well done.

Agree to disagree. Plus.. I said new show (ie Season 1).
