Is this planned for 20+ seasons or why is nothing happening ?
Meh, started great, has amazing moments
But overall:
Meh.
So let this end how we begin.

Why? Do they think there’s a shortage of bad ones?

Just when you thought the show writers couldn't stoop any lower, they found a stronger shovel and dug deeper. One big F U to all true Star Trek fans.
This show is just epic!
CGI 7/10
Acting 4/10
Story 2/10
I was very disappointed
Visually was not good. Right from the beginning you get the feeling that the plot is just "inspired" by other popular franchises without bringing anything original to the table at all.
I'm just glad i didn't know this was directed by snyder until afterwards. its a personal confirmation that his movies are just bad and i'm not just being biased...
Verification that incredible creativity, great sets, a bucket list of famous people and great actors doesn't always make a great movie. You still need a good story to tell
Erm. No. From the cartoon nonsense a few weeks ago (albeit that had some comedy value), this musical interlude didn't do anything for me (and I don't mind musicals per se). Glad when it was over. I don't mind them trying new things to keep things fresh, some work, some don't. This week was a don't! Let's have some action and drama next week :P
I very much doubt I'm the intended audience for Star Trek Prodigy, and it shows.
Whilst the animation looks fantastic and the score is pleasant, the lead character is incredibly annoying and it simply doesn't "feel" like Star Trek.
The easy and obvious comparison is to the Animated Star Wars shows like Rebels and Clone Wars, but honestly: It's an accurate take.
Got some kids who like animated shows with a Sci-Fi feel? Definitely try them with Prodigy.
Are you a teen or a young adult? You might like this.
Are you a die hard Star Trek fan who wants more Star Trek?
This isn't that.
As above, it just doesn't feel like Star Trek, at all.
I'll give it a few more episodes, but I can't see me sticking with this.
And in one episode SNW gives a more satisfying flash back to the Klingon war than Discovery hobbled together in a whole season and to top it off they top give us Clint Howard in a Starfleet badge. Oh Strange New Worlds you are spoiling us.
Refreshing. Genuinely delighted people at CBS/ Paramount that can deliver the goods. Not only does it continue to provide something for the fans but easy in for casual viewer after some top tier TV.
Nice use of the Bussard collectors!!
The best episode out of the 5 this season. Funny and relatable social commentary. I enjoyed how the writers chose to explain it all in the "quam-puta" room . Really enjoyed this episode. The rest were barely even worth sitting through.
Cheers!
I enjoyed the sets on the planet, the droidbar was beautiful made.
The action in this season has been taken to another level. Simply epic so far.
@everythingafter you needed to watch the Boba Fett show. It’s basically Mando season 2.5. We see what happens with Grogu and Luke
Unlike Rings of Power this one told me at episode one that it would be utter shite. Thank you Disney for making this easy, 19 minutes in and it's bye Felicia.
Another very good episode. But why is the runtime always so short?
So Obi left Anakin barely alive and now Vader as well? Big time sins. Also, what was the point of this show?
This is the most mid show that involves the most ICONIC characters
really disappointed with the overall season.. the fight choreography in this show is one of the worst I've ever seen on any high budget series.. it's like they weren't even trying
overall the show was boring
nooooooooo nononono! no.
Reminiscent of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, this is all eye-candy & no substance.
I can see where it had potential, but utterly fails to land it.
Feels a little like a.... "Asian cargo-cult flick"(?) : blockbuster made in Asia with an eye on a what they think would appeal to western audience, and utterly failing either.
Would be easy to blame it on the bad dub, but even that does not account for the inability to make any sort of connection to any of the shallowly stereotypical archetype characters.
If they actually die in the end in an act of heroic sacrifice, that would've at least have been some redemptive conclusion - without a hope for a sequel.
I think there could be something interesting still buried in there; maybe in a fan-edit.
If I was stoned out of my gord, maybe in the background.
For a better time, watch Space Truckers.
Good candidate for a Razzie
I actually didn't mind Leia this episode, though I'd still like there to be less of her in the show. I'm also really really really hoping that Reva doesn't turn against the Empire - I've had the feeling since the beginning that she would, and I just really don't want that to happen. I don't really like her character and plotline as is, and turning her good would just be a predictable mess.
We finally got some Vader/Kenobi stuff, which is the reason most of us are probably watching this show/were hyped for it. The scene of Vader walking through the town and killing people was great, but I found the actual confrontation between Vader and Obi-Wan to be rather underwhelming (although it was certainly pretty to look at). Regardless, this was definitely the best episode yet, and I hope it continues this way.
I'd like to give it an 8/10, but dumb stuff like Reva managing to get ahead of Leia without any rational explanation prevent me from giving it higher than a 7.
What a disappointing finale. If it hadn't been for Cad Bane, I'd have given this a 4 or a 5. It was basically one long shootout, and it wasn't very good. Really disappointed that they killed him off so soon too.
I like Boba Fett but I love Mando! This was a fantastic episode. It made me smile almost every 5 minutes. Bryce Dallas Howard struck gold with this one.
Even in the Season 5 series finale, most of the actors still look very awkward and uncomfortable around eachother. The way they stand while having conversations, the way they interact, none of it looks nor feels natural and normal. Like they've been given lectures and a set of very strict rules about boundries & personal space, what is acceptable to do and not do, then scripts that go completely against that so they don't ever know or feel comfortable in anything they're doing when there's any kind of interaction between characters.
It's like a series of workmates who would never spend time with eachother outside of work playing out team building exercises put on by some external consultancy. And the script even in Season 5 still felt like it was written by scifi writers then re-written by a mothers group who were doing feelings and emotional insight excercises for a prison group.
This show had a lot of great ideas, a lot of great potential. But the execution was terrible at so many levels.
Total waste of time. complete garbage. He watched movies that were and still are very good at the time, but he stole them without understanding anything. He said he would put on some cool scenes. the editing sucks. The scenes have nothing to do with each other. Motivations are meaningless. The audience has no idea what's happening and why. Suddenly they got excited and set off. Since all the scenes are stolen from other movies, they have no connection with each other and look ridiculous. The acting is also extremely bad. The lead character plays extremely cheesy. The action scenes are also garbage. No matter how you hold it, it stays in your hand. I give 1 point. And that's because some images look good.
I liked it better when it was called Star Wars. I kept on waiting for one of the characters to be Force sensitive. It’s essentially trying to be a Star Wars spin off series (but not as good) with a nod to Star Trek.
I’ll see where this goes. It would be nice to get some new real Star Trek at some point. It’s been a long while now.
It was knowing of the addition of the one already established Star Trek character that kept my interest going here. Will give credit there for that. We will see how well the character will be used going forward.
NOPE!
First time I have ever had to skip though parts of any Star Trek episode ever!
I don't do musicals and singing of any kind at all...
Especially on one of my favourite shows!
