This brings me back to that classic episode of The Simpson's when Burns had the many monkeys typing away which didn't work out well.
Where oh where are the writers coming from... what did they work on before or was this project passed to a grade 6 class for an exercise?
We get these shows are being pumped out to provide content on Disney+ but the least they could do get some actual Star Wars fans/writers to write these scripts.
Please Don't make the proposed spin off of the Third Sister, don't even consider it. This whole thing just felt like it was phoned in. I'm so glad there was only 6 episodes in this. Such a shame for any Star Wars fans to have to sit through this. The actors could only do what the script provides them. I have sympathy for the actors, it isn't their fault.
This show is incredible so far, cant wait for more!
I laughed a lot watching this episode, so funny to watch. Good job Orville, it did it well.
Favorite episode so far I loved the alien stuff and it felt like horror at times. They made a huge mistake killing off the most interesting character what the hell
I am entertained, but as a fan from 1978, I can't help but feel like I am looking at Obi-Wan's Facebook feed. Perhaps I don't really need to know all the details or backstory of him. A New Hope as been my bible. Leia seeks Obi-Wan because he fought alongside with her father Bail Organa during the clone wars. No mention of how he rescued her before. Continuity errors? Yeah well. I really don't feel like typing a novel right now....
Hurrah! At last a proper Star Trek series! This is everything the absolutely awful Discovery was not. Looking forward to the coming episodes!
This episode of the Mandalorian is good and show a more in sync with the original Star Wars Luke Skywalker character not the travesty we saw on the sequels where the character got disfigured by the mediocre writing, this is the true essence of Luke a complete opposite of the guy that tried to kill Ben Swolo because he scares me.
And I see some people here complaining about fan service, well Star Wars is about the story of the real Skywalkers if you don't like that you are in the wrong franchise maybe go and seek your woke content someplace else like glee or something like that.
8/10
this was an amazing episode and im so freaking excited for chapter 6 and it made me realize just how much we need a mandalorians series.
[Netflix] Adam McKay takes advantage of the apocalyptic genre to craft a satire more focused on political criticism of the United States. A one-way vision that comes from an original idea by Bernie Sanders 'speechwriter in the 2020 campaign. But the cartoonish trend brings this movie closer to "Hot shots" (1991) and all those goofy parodies produced in 90's that to a more clever satire on the imbecility of humanity.
Felt like a series finale... Let's hope we don't see anymore of this dreck, at least I'm gonna try to have seen the last of this.
I could write a lot about why this film is awful but I can't be bothered to waste my breath after sitting through this
Worst film of 2023.
It’s like Netflix approached Zack Snyder to make his own “Everything Everywhere All At Once (2023), so he wrote down “every thing, every great scene, from every where, every great movie, and make it all happen at once”.
I have never seen anything so unoriginal. That steals so blatantly all the great scenes and great shots from every great movie. Based around the plot from 7 Samurai, one of the greatest movie plots. And all of it was done so terribly it’s just beyond difficult to watch.
Within the first few minutes the main character is doing a really awkward and long monologue to explain plot points. Then later on in the movie she does an even longer one but at least this longer one later on is done over visuals of the events.
The acting is terrible from everyone. The script writing is terrible. The direction & production couldn’t be worse.
And there’s apparently an R rated version coming plus a part 2? Pass. I don’t hate myself that much.
“Directed by Zack Snyder” is now a massive warning sign.
Stop saying progeny it’s prodigy aaaah
I thought this double opening episode was a blast. Clearly taking cues from the Star Wars animated shows but that's not a bad thing to me. This was high energy and exciting with some good mysteries presented.
I like some characters much more than others. Rok is great, Zero is kind of fascinating. Gwyn probably has more depth than the rest of the characters put together. Dal was the problematic one, far too in-your-face, so it's a shame that he's ostensibly the "lead" role.
Visually this was glorious too. I loved a lot of the designs and use of colour.
The big questions for me:
- How did the Protostar get there, and what happened to its crew?
- The bad guy said he had been searching for the ship for a long time, but we've been told by the creators that this show is set only a few years after Voyager, so something doesn't entirely add up at this point.
- Similarly, how come there were so many Alpha Quadrant species here? Mysterious!
This episode felt like a filler. The Mandalorian fight scene was piss poor, looked like it was choreographed in a primary school playground
I have Andor vibes from this episode, amazing
Yeah, no thanks. I have a feeling this is going to get worse. Better to stop now.
That was an awesome episode
Thrilling, tense, rich with character and a world that feels achingly real, and jaw dropping sets and visuals. This is Star Wars at a new level.
Other than decent CGI, this movie lacks in every other aspect. Convoluted plot, check. TERRIBLE acting, check. Unlikeable main characters, check. Non-existent soundtrack, check. Lame bad guy with even lamer downfall, check. Humorless, check. Stupid ending, check. Predictable plot-twists, check. Overly dramatic acting, check.
This might be awesome in Korea, but for a mainstream movie in the US, it's total 'space' garbage.
Yes well what can we say about this episode.
I guess the caption for this episode would be, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend". Again this episode as has all this seasons episodes have challenged the viewer with some big questions that thankfully most of us wouldn't need to address, not in this magnitude anyway. But it is still worth looking inside oneself to ask these life and moral questions and moreso to realise the answers that come up.
You gotta give kudos for the excellent battle scenes - kinda 'Star Wars' epic! Well done to all concerned.
Great performances from the cast, everyone is excelling in this season... there must be good vibes on set, it shows. Hulu is doing the right thing to and for the show.
2 things that I disliked: the directing. Hate all the shaky cam stuff.
The child actor. Distractingly bad. Was she the best they could find?
The 10-C remind me of the heptapods from Denis Villeneuve's Arrival: Gigantic aliens initially presenting (or, in Arrival, perceived as presenting) an apocalyptic threat, who communicate via excretions and require the protagonists to go to extraordinary lengths to understand and speak to. Tarka's obsession with exploiting their power to reuinite with a lost lover is more like a mashup of Moby Dick, Wuthering Heights & Frankenstein. Book's grief & naivety just seem ... extra.
First contact situation language problem is just a variation of the film Arrival, plus all the usual quack talk of the season.
Any episode with Boba Fett is certain to be lame. None of the characters behave as a person of normal intelligence would. The entire finale was idiotic and implausible.
These last 2 episodes are the best Star Wars I've seen in a looooong time!!! FAAAAAAAAK!!!!
Absolutely epic! The episode captures the storyline of The Mandalorian and inserts it flawlessly into that of Boba Fett. Each phase of this episode is full of depth, perfect rhythm, the co-stars manage to complete the role of Mando. And the ending creates a crazy hype about the next episode.
Man that was a good episode
