You know this is Cinema when the movie makes you cry over rocks.
My head is literally in pain from this film...I'm left feeling empty. If you asked me what I just witnessed in these past 2 hours, I honestly couldn't describe what took place. The entire thing felt like a bunch of messy jump-cut, foggy action sequences stacked up on top of eachother with NO character substance or plot to hold it together. The writing was terrible and insanely cliche, there was no depth, and absolutley nothing to be taken from watching this. Oh and in addition - the use of that soundtrack - terrible, sad such a good song like Heathens is even a part of the franchise. Wish they had spent more money building the storyline and chracters (WHO HAD PROMISE WITH THE RIGHT WRITING) than promoting the shell it became...
@nmahoney416 Did you notice the picture in the beginning of the movie with the father and daughter in front of the high school? The high school is the “home of the catfish” :)
Holy moly. This has to be the best episode of TV since Breaking Bad went off the air. The raw intensity, the power, the incredible performance by the cast had me riveted. The psychological dialogue between doctor and patient exceeded anything the Sopranos ever tried. Vera's wordy monologues and Elliot's stoicism built a fire that burned hot and bright. Then like a light it was gone.
Great show. We are so lucky to bear witness.
Finally an episode that isn't 40 minutes of nothing.
Uncancel Justin Roiland and bring him back!
What a waste of time! this movie pretends to have a meaning, but it's only a meaningless garbage, the story goes nowhere.
was good only for 15 minutes short movie
Wow. This was... beautiful. While I am sad to see Vera's arc come to such a sudden end, the last "act" of this episode was pure catharsis.
Genuinely one of the most horrifying death I've ever witnessed in a TV show. The entire final sequence is scarier than most horror movies these days.
So here’s what happened: Some guy played GTA V and his stoned friend, who happened to be a producer, said: Come on, let’s make a movie out of it! I dare you! They laughed, called Michael Bay and the rest is history.
Seriously, the movie makes no sense, is absurd and absolutely senseless. Most of the scenes are just a usual day in GTA. I couldn’t stop laughing at the bs story and absurd „story“. Crank was better because it was funny with a purpose. This is just embarrassing and at the same time it’s not even the worst movie I’ve watched this year.
overall impression: bullshit hollywood movie (i.e same crap like marvel, DC).
but hands down, beautifully done BS.
I have to say that this ending wasn't really satisfying. I don't expect to get an answer to every single question because it makes sense to keep some mystery and keep some things left for a new season, but there wasn't really a conclusion. It didn't feel like a season finale. There are so many open and unanswered storylines/questions that I feel like I'll get to see another episode next week.
Don't get me wrong. It wasn't a bad season and I did enjoy it, but nothing really wrapped up at the end and that's bothering me.
Easily one of the most uncomfortable watches of the year. A test on your patience, empathy and digestion capabilities. Such a personal story, straddling a very red line that divides trauma and unnerving the viewer. Undecisive about whether liking it or not, but I applaud the boldness.
Worst episode of the season, and probably of the whole series.
Guess it's good for families with small teenagers, but I wouldn't recommend it for grownups. Great effects though.
Any review you read saying it isn’t that bad is from people who don’t watch enough movies. Every minute is ripped, terribly, from better films. Bobby Rod saw a few too many Nolan movies and thinks he can compete by plagiarizing his work.
How could someone have collected, watched and rated the Episode 04X01 if it hasn't even been leaked yet and much less released? This shout is directed to all those Tratk users with back to the future gizmos. Please share the schematics, we also want to time travel.
Never would I have thought a Godzilla movie would be so emotional and deep. Def a must see movie for the year
If you only care about an ending, maybe you should watch some other kind of cinema. There are plenty of choices for you.
If you care about a great script, superb cast and acting, beautiful camera work, intriguing plot, a tension feeling without really knowing what's happening kind of movie, well, this one is for you.
Sam Esmail has delivered a great work here. It ticks all the boxes that you could expect from him.
An ending like this one, is very subjective, but it works perfectly for me. It just feels right. We found out what was really happening, and Esmail put it in a clever and kind of funny way.
Read the synopsis and don't watch the trailer, the less you know about the plot, the better you enjoy it. I loved it.
sobbing HE CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT!!
(by "he" I mean Vince Gilligan and the rest of the cast and crew and by "it" I mean making this show so consistently high quality)
Fantastic thriller. For those who like to be spoon fed mind-numbing high-octane violence, action, explosions etc, this isn't for you. For the rest of us, welcome to the wonderful world of acting and drama. The accents are, mostly, genuine or very well done. The Northern Irish accent can be difficult to follow if you're not used to hearing it. Good to see a show set in Northern Ireland in which the troubles are not a major concern.
Convoluted. Full of plot holes and nonsensical decisions. Doesn't actually answer any of the questions that it raises. It had so much promise as well. Such a shame.
R I P robin williams :(
Syfy where all good ideas go to die.
This is a show that plays in the vein of "finally getting minority voices on television." There's chuckle moments and the cast has chemistry, but the perspective isn't necessarily "new." It's like long-form observational comedy more than anything else. If you're a fan of Aziz you'll get what you expect, but it's not particularly gripping, so to speak. A mash-up of millennial sensibilities and awkward situations, but even trying to recall "moments" from the show, I sort of draw a blank. That usually tells me all I need to know about a show. You won't knock it for trying, but you're not going to call home about it. Edit: The 2nd season turns up the charm and makes for more memorable moments.
The show had its ups and downs through its season, but the final two episodes were game changers and made up for every little bad thing. The show is amazing and can't wait for next season.
No Way!... Can you believe that Awesome, Freaking Ending?... I was literary on the edge of my seat,... Freaking Awesome!
It was refreshing to see the season end on a high note instead of another "OMG WTF" cliffhanger.
I am 900% done with the Governor. please somebody kill that guy. Then kill him again.
