A decent political satire with a good heart and a sense of humour. Sandra Bullock is good in the lead and the film is better when it allows her to act as opposed to the occasional slapstick which undermines both the film and the actress.
If you liked this movie (and especially if you didn't and you just wanna rip on it :) , then go ahead and watch
South Park - 15x06 - City Sushi
It's like this movie but in 20 minutes and funny.
[Netflix] Back to the apocalyptic future imagined by Neill Blomkamp that manages to create a terrifying and pessimistic atmosphere. "We were once mankind. Now, we are no more than pests." An immersive visual envelope accompanies a narrative that sometimes stumbles on some clichés of the genre. But he manages to make his 22 minutes disturbing, and at the same time reflect on the future-present humanity.
they say good movies don't easily get out of fashion but the one liners in this movie man, they didn't age well at all
Best movie of the year!
This just doesn't work for me! The first half of the movie was so boring, i don't know why but de sound mixing was so bad, the directing was good but the flashbacks were confusing. The only good thing in this was Timothée Chalamet acting, i mean, all of them were good but he was way better! I'm going to give this a 6.5/10
A fake movie with a ridiculous ending.
I don’t know whether it’s because I don’t know Dungeons and Dragons very well or just this movie. But this was so boring. I was bored during the fight scenes.
Not beeing American doesn´t connect me as much with the topic but Cranstons performance alone was worth watching this. I've never pictured LBJ beeing that way.
horrible time waste film with zero meaning or interpretation of what they r about f***ng waste
Fans of the game will find many issues with this movie. This movie was made for people who know about dungeons and dragons only through pop culture shows like strangers things. The producers of the movie openly admitted to emasculating the male characters so that the female characters are uplifted in the movie. I don't understand why you cant let each character reach their potential. How is it the bard did nothing and meanwhile the druid wild shaped 7 times in under a minute? The movie also put a ton of focus on the father daughter relationship between Edgin and Kira. God what a snooze fest. This is something you wouldn't see roleplayed or actually a part of a campaign. The fight at the end was the only redeemable part. It felt true to the speed of a fight in D&D if played out in full speed. Also the staf only had a range of 500 feet but then at end of the movie it conveniently changes to a quarter mile?
1st half of the movie was good. Had potential. But other half is just bad. Not worth losing 2 hours.
This movie is unbelievably bad.
It started a little slow I was going to turn it off and I should have the ending is shit it gets unbearably slow halfway through just don’t watch it
I was OK, but felt like it missed a lot of what actually happened.
I know nothing of the story/events, but it was disjointed and left me with questions like - what happened with the miners? Were they still mining? We never saw one instance of the ore arriving and being loaded onto the ships.. other than the ship at the very beginning, there was just ships in the harbour with only the ferry actually docking ... on one occasion. What happened to the English guys?
The picture/poster had absolutely nothing to do with the movie because everything was on the land.
This may sound heartless, but I did not expect to care about this movie. I was born after Vietnam, I'm not American, I never served and neither did any of my close friends. But this amazing cast elevated it to so much more than a movie about grief about a fallen soldier.
You can see many different things in this movie, but for me it was a movie about friendship. Trying to bond again when that connective tissue you once had is no longer there. Over the course of the road trip Fishburne, Carell and Cranston manage to converge and ultimate rediscover there old friendship, creating one of the most heartwarming stories I've seen recently.
My birthday wish is that this will be good
Its sad how close this movie is from being great instead of good. The problem is that the last act the movie really starts to drag. I liked it up to that point and it has a good ending but it really could have been trimmed down. Still a good movie, with a good twist on the concept of baseball but could have been executed better.
Of course there is an ignorant child that ruins everything.
Indeed, this movie goes nowhere.
Whoooooo this is boring. Its technically well acted and put together, even an important look at addiction, but what a snore-fest
What the fuck was that ending? Why was he even going out on the boat? So fucking stupid.
Finally a movie that is definitely not pc. If you hate the pc culture as I do, you will enjoy this move. :alien:
All these people claiming this movie doesn’t have enough “equalizing” have a fundamental misunderstanding of The Equalizer. Yes, Robert McCall can be a brutal killer, but he’s also a man on a mission to right wrongs. Whether that is because he is trying to make up for his past or it is his own personal morality isn’t important.
In the first movie he’s a man that has seemingly given up and is ready for death, until he makes a small connection with a troubled girl and decides to make it right. The second movie expands on that as McCall has a taste for the mission and has begun expanding his reach into the community. A true friendly, neighborhood Equalizer, fighting the good fight.
The third movie goes a bit deeper because while McCall is doing all of this work, it is still from the outside. He fights for the community but doesn’t seem to be a part of it. That is what is explored here, and the movie is all the better for it.
How relevant has this movie has become now eh?? After watching it again now (first time on release date), man this is almost exactly what's going on out there!
I love it when Sandler plays these more serious roles. While I love him as a comedic actor I genuinely feel like he excels further when he shows his range and is cast for these more serious roles. Hustle isn't really anything groundbreaking and doesn't particularly break any new ground in what we've all seen in most sport movies. But the cast, the tension, music and everything else just works despite hitting all the usual cliches. Just a solid 'feel good' and motivational film. Highly recommend for Sandler fans, my wife who has zero interest in any kind of sports sat and watched the whole thing and enjoyed this one so please don't think you need to know basketball or enjoy sports to enjoy this. Solid 8/10
Not to be one of those annoying people, but honestly guys you HAVE TO read the book if you haven’t yet. The movie is great, don’t get me wrong, however, hearing Snow’s thoughts add a whole new perspective.
Went in with a open mind, knew nothing about the movie. Just in there for Alexandra Daddario. Some parts were cliched, wouldn't deny that. But the comedy worked. It was not boring, meanwhile it could have definitely been a lot better!
Have nothing to watch? Go for it.
Forgettable and flawed but mildly entertaining in the moment.
