as if the government would negotiate with terrorists.
The request from the terrorist- That the PM should fuck a pig is just unbelievable stupid. This episode is by far the worst shit I've seen on television at all.
PS: I want my wasted 45 minutes back
Making Sam deaf was a great example of how diversity and representation don't have to compromise a character. I'm not deaf myself, I don't know anyone who's deaf, and yet you won't hear anything negative from me about Sam being deaf, because 1) it's not my place to judge whether it's meaningful to those represented, and 2) they managed to keep everything that really mattered about him.
In fact, I'd argue Craig Mazin even elevated Sam's character and his dynamic with Henry by tying his deafness to his innocence. Sam can't hear the gunfire, explosions, screaming, and tough conversations that Henry has to deal with and protect Sam from. It ties into what Joel tells Henry about how being a kid is easier. What a great adaptation of this chapter in the story.
That moment where Sam is sitting on the edge of the bed and we don't know if he's turned was adapted brilliantly. In the show, Ellie knows he's infected, but when she calls out to him and gets no response, she doesn't know if he's okay, because he's deaf. Great example of incorporating representation into a story in an uncompromising and meaningful way.
Disappointing and inconclusive... The only strong part of the final episode was Julian clearing the building. Strong attention to detail there. As a series, it started extremely well and wasn't able to sustain. It ended limply and uninteresting.
Copying John Wick now? Where did the action of the first two episodes go? Now it's super slow, mediocre drama... Well shot but still, not really time well-spent.
Well, actually funny, fresh and heartwarming in the right moments.. great start!
So, Charlie is basically a crime magnet walking around super glueing people's wounds
The confession recoding is a joke and the FBI falls do it? And a kid show them how it could fake. What kind of retarded writing is this.
So a 20 something somehow has the skills to break into the FBI servers to download the recoding. Talk about far fetched. What are these writers thinking. I think this show is made for a child.
The kids are gonna break out the father from a Mexican prison. This show better not get renewed. Because at this point this is beyond stupid.
What a brilliant little series, and episode this was.
It's silly and pretty ridiculous...but it's fun af and that's all I really care about. I'm down.
I'm really enjoying this. Just watched the movie for the first time a few weeks ago, and this show feels like exactly what I wanted out of a follow up.
Where Supernatural very much seems to be the Generation X of this franchise, this seems to be very much the Millennial spin off - set a generation before Sam & Dean.
Check an all inclusive barrage using stuff from the "later" seasons of Supernatural (such as the Men of Letters)
Going from point a to b to c to d to find and open the mystery box all while talking about feelings complete with quiet guitar music. The actual plot flies by but the scenes connecting them drag on relentlessly.
I saw someone call this the Scooby Doo version of Supernatural and after seeing the van I can agree with that. Except Scoobs and the gang didn't spend this much talking about their feelings. Sure, it's the pilot and time will tell but atm they'll have to step up their game to keep me interested - and I can't even guess how they will avoid 15 years of canon.
This is getting better by the minute and more intense….those 2 are nothing but power together!!!
"Do you think I got to be FBI chief by being someone you could fuck with?"
"No sir"
"then quit looking at me lest I get the impression I'm being fucked with."
I believe in John Lithgow supremacy
A friend of mine yesterday said that he's amazed how you can have a series without a tangible story. And I can understand that. This is clearly not a show where things are happening within a given episode. It's a whole cut into pieces. Is it frustrating to have to wait a week for the continuation ? For sure. But I like it. It takes effort, you need to learn about the characters, the environment. You build things up instead of throwing them at people.
A ragtag group of people as very first rebels ? Yeah, sure. An Empire suffocating under its own bureaucracy ? That's what I always had in mind how a Rebellion could form under their eyes.
So far, for me, it makes sense.
Very solid follow up to the 3 episode premiere. Really liking the style and vibe of this show.
Great series so far. Obi Wan season 1 was clearly a missed opportunity and shite next to this.
This show is seriously killing my brain cells right now.
Aunt Lydia to me is the only person that is remotely interesting at this point.
Damn, that music was soo good
This show is incredible so far, cant wait for more!
The first two episodes are indeed slow-burns, which I normally wouldn't mind much but they also feel a little shapeless? More than compensated by the world-building that genuinely feels lived-in and thought-out though, on both sides of the conflict (loved the bell-towering dude hammering the time). And it greatly builds to this incredible third ep, where the world-building makes that town come truly alive against the invading force, with a few great action set-pieces. Just exciting, stirring stuff here.
OK, I buy in. There are some points in the writing that aren't top notch like jealous boyfriend or stupid soldiers. That's thin. But I want to see early stages of the Rebellion. And hopefully want to see Andor become a more likeable and deeper character.
So I'm more intrested about the possibilities the story could go right now.
I hope people watch this show and realize how bad Obi-Wan was, this show felt like I was watching the same story of Star Wars I watched so many times, but in a more realistic way, a more calm pace, I never saw myself so much involved with rebels and empire conflict such as in this episode, and also no jokes, amazing
How I feel about this episode is how I feel about the show as a whole so far. There’s nothing I actively dislike, but nothing I’m in love with either. It just kind of exists. Like I’m interested enough to watch it and not be bored, but nothing is really gripping me or sticking with me.
Durin and Elrond have the greatest chemistry, the only characters achieving the same quality level as in the movies.
Several good dialogues and scenes but still not a great episode. But the potential certainly is there.
I don't care, I like it, I'm watching it.
Nothing earth-shattering but still a solid setup and the CGI is top notch! Daemon shines every time he’s on screen. 8/10
