@starfleeter I love how that is basically the exact same John Walker development from the comics, but still so different that we comic readers have NO idea what's going to happen.

@starfleeter But you kind of understand him tough. He was just constantly facing all these over powered people and he was getting his ass kicked every time while having all this pressure of being Captain America, and now his best friend and partner gets killed. You kind of understand where all his rage is coming from and why he let it loose. I think anyone would do the same in his shoes.
Not a bad show by any means but if I'm honest I liked WandaVision more. I feel like I am missing a lot of background.
loading replies
@paulvincent83 I totally understand your point. But I only remember very basic things from the movies and when they talk about stuff here I don't think I get everything. And they seem to be drawing from the comics which I don't know at all. That's not the shows fault. And you're right, this and WandaVision are two different animals. Wanda just had me more intrigued.
Nevertheless I will continue watching. Maybe everything falls into place at the end.
What on earth were they thinking creating THAT kind of Captain America ?!?! And I mean the actor, too. I am also not a huge fan of this "One World, One People" stuff.
What I do like is the dynamic between Sam and Bucky. That carried an otherwise rather mediocre episode.loading replies
@finfan It's taken straight out of the comics. The fact that John Walker is 100% a military man is exactly why they chose him. They needed a symbol they could control.
sorry, not a fan so far, that was 5% action and 95% filler, i don't need to see Sam and Bucky's personal lives. the first episode should come out swinging and this did not do that. and what the hell was that at the end of the episode? looks like they grabbed some random guy off the street and stuck a Captain America costume on him, guy looks like a dweeb. not impressed, hope they do better and they only have 5 episodes left

@alexnader Or you could watch the legends series and the 8 minute episode they put out for people like you who weren't paying attention to what was going on when you watched it.

@alexnader You know, maybe the show's not really for you if you don't care about important characters and can't remember who they are from the MANY movies they've already been in...

That's the fng point!
Gotta comment after seeing so many haters complain about episodes diverting from the main arc. That’s what so amazing about a Star Wars SHOW. We get to have a little fun outside the bigger picture.
To me, these aren’t filler. These sporadic adventures-of-the-week episodes give us some breathing room to understand our characters a bit more and play around in such an epic sandbox on the small screen. The big story will continue — and we’ll appreciate it even more.
We’re oh-so-lucky to have this echelon of television in our lives. Absolutely stellar.

@tvwatcha3 yeah it's so weird reading these comments, do people not get the idea of the show at all?
So the Fountain of Imperium is sort of a cousin to the Mycelium? Iiinteresting...

@thogek Constantine will show up on the Cession next season
@chewy74 It seems about the same to me so far. Unless the whole show starts to be about one having feelings for the same sex.
Why, god, why can’t they just stick to continuing the show. Why can’t they just make a story and not a bunch of useless filler episodes. This one peeved me off even more than the usual fillers because it’s not even about the bad batch. I assume next episode we’ll have them saving Hera but christ, can’t we just get a show about bad batch being anything else than just hired guns doing things that are honestly so unrelated to anything. We barely get to see Crosshair, we don’t have interactions of the bad batch fighting against the empire or something. Or in general having any kind of goal. We’re more than halfway through the season and I’m not really having much fun. Bonus hate points because I couldn’t stand Rebels unlike most people and having this be a Rebels prequel episode just is so much worse for me personally.

@wingedmando oh you must be new here lol. It’s comments like these I wish there was a downvote button. People just love using the word ‘filler” now a days. ‘Filler’ this, and ‘filler’ that. You know all these shows and movies happen on the same timeline right?

It’s star wars, you know the story, what are you expecting? Have you even seen the clone wars? It was never about getting somewhere, it was always about enjoying the ride and I for once enjoyed this one more then all the others
A great fun episode, and Omega continues to be endearing with her endless optimism. Also delighted to see Rafa and Trace back and maybe now people will finally start to see how great they are!
Interesting ending moment, my first thought was Ahsoka but I guess that wouldn't make that much sense... would it?
loading replies
@lefthandedguitarist I wouldn't say "no" to it being Ahsoka. I would love seeing her (and Ashley's voice) back. But I agree it wouldn't make sense because that would imply she works with the rebellion and than I would ask why we never heard of her ? Yes, because she wasn't invented back then but you know what I mean.
Also, at the end of Rebels she went looking for Ezra and Thrawn. She's still looking for Thrawn in The Mandalorian. Can't think of a good reason why she should be with the rebellion now.
We know that Omega is very important but I don't think it was on of the Kaminoans who hired Fennec. That would be too obvious, wouldn't it? It's someone we haven't seen yet.
loading replies
@finfan That's a good guess! And despite his age, he's already connected with the bounty hunter network, so it's not implausible!

loading replies
@andrewbloom Yes, that is one possibilty. I was thinking Fett. Althought he's still very young at this point. But there is a connection between him and Fennec. And maybe that started around this time.
They tricked me really in believing there's no Iris in this Episode again, BUT...
...what the actual f***?!
So, Nora can spend a whole season in the past without changing anything, but Barry will not even travel to the future to see if she's well, because of Flashpoint? How does that make any sense? That Flashpoint argument is nonsense. He wouldn't change the past by doing so. He would only change the present and it's future outcome which he is already doing by trying to prevent the "Godspeed Civil War". At least he tries timetravel after a talk about family with Diggle and fails by doing so, because of a Godspeed barrier. At the end Nora shows up and all concerns Barry had are unfounded. It's great that we literally dealt with something over a period of two full episodes that didn't need to be worried.
And why is Diggle still Spartan after he found something that glows green? Was that scene from the last Arrow episode, which indicated that he's becoming Green Lantern and was shown again in this episode, just a lie? And how did non-superpowered Spartan defeat a Godspeed clone? I have so many questions, but not in a good way.
loading replies
@disgustedguy Diggle isn't green lantern yet because he's been putting off wearing the ring. It's why he was having such bad headaches. A few weeks ago he was in Gotham on Batwoman to get checked up because he didn't know what was causing them. He's also going to be in Supergirl and Superman & Lois. Basically doing a tour of the current arrowverse on his way to becoming Green Lantern. He also managed to beat the Godspeed clone by shooting him with speed sapping nanites in the same way Oliver did to Thawn in season 1
But yeah, Barry refusing to go to the future because of flashpoint makes no sense. He can't make another flashpoint by changing something in the future. To his present it hasn't happened yet. In the same vein, why doesn't he care about Nora coming back from the future when he's become to anti-time travel because of the consequences?
And if he couldn't make it to 2047 because of the Godspeed blockade, how is Nora just able to travel back in time?
By far the best episode of the season, even the last few seasons.
The stakes of the story actually feel real, they remembered that Barry is the main character and didn't spend too much time on the side characters, and the action scenes were superb.
They also remembered things like 1. He needs to constantly eat cause of his metabolism. 2. He's a genius scientist and 3. Going super fast has consequences to non-speedster stuff. They don't make a big show off of any of them but simply remembering those things in general is more than they've done since season 3/4.All in all this feels like the showrunners actually remembered how to make The Flash again, even if we get it only for an episode.
And it just so happened to be in the episode which Iris isn't part of in any way. Hmmm... almost like there's a connection there.
loading replies
@erebos well in season 1 it's explained (and then swiftly forgotten about) that the friction of him running is enough set his clothes on fire, it's why he originally gets the flash suit.
In the flashtime episode when he's moving so fast that time basically stops any non-speedster he speeds up to his time to talk to them starts getting really bad headaches cause they're not meant to go that fast.
And in this episode he can't run the samples to the lab because the speed could mess it up.
Is the inertia bubble actually explained in this show, or is it just something you're bringing over from the comics to explain stuff? Like how in the comics supermans glasses telepathically stop people from noticing that he's superman, while in the shows it's just that no one would believe him and superman are the same person.
This movie is absolutely worse if you understand physics or are a student of physics. Nolan burnt hundreds of millions into this and didn't bother to consult even a high school physics teacher? Does he know what entropy is. Does he think entropy and time are same things? I understand we need to keep our brains at home when watching scifi but the plot is so convoluted and complex that I cannot forgive the stupidity of the premise. This movie is a stupid person's idea of what an intelligent movie might be.
loading replies
@harshk9 The way I see it, the usage of entropy in this movie is based on the second law of thermodynamics which states that as one goes forward in time, the net entropy of any isolated or closed system will always increase (or at least stay the same). So the people from the future want to reverse the progress of time/decrease the entropy. I don't think that is too farfetched for a sci-fi film? Or what is entropy exactly and how the film got it wrong?

@harshk9 Come on, are we still on this? How Nolan's movie are not "scientifically reliable"? It' a movie! it's like criticize "Iron Man" because the ARC reactor isn't scientifically plausible.
If i watch It in reverse does it get better?

Interesting twist, or further back story to the iconic character…..was great bringing Kal-El’s mothers consciousness into the mix, added more unexpected history.
Only have one question, did I miss them say a short distance shockwave? as Morgan Edge’s assistant, Leslie Larr, seemed to be unaffected
loading replies
@petetorrev well, only the people who's consciousness changed recently by the machine are reverted back. So that could mean two things, 1) it's too long ago for her or 2) she's Kryptonion. I didn't pay attention for the second one, so don't know.
I'm happy Barry stopped making it weird between him & Nora, it felt a lot more open after he made that shift.

I found this to be all unrelated peripheral plot. I forwarded through 90% of it, and the 10% didn’t have much of use. A lot of shows have episodes with a fair amount of filler, but this went way over the line.

@linrey I didn't see anything wasted in this storyline. It builds upon the alternate reality concept introduced a few episodes ago. They were warned that continuing to reset their day would weaken the barriers between dimensions. And in this episode, we saw a consequence.
So, this clearly seems like that it would have been the last episode for Season 6

@blue_angel Yeah, if it weren't for covid this would have been the season finale
I can imagine this episode would polarize People...I fell on the side of those who are feelin' it.
Lots of happy tears...seeing the flashbacks and reunions.
Except, what was up with Ralph? Was there some kind of contractual or legal problem that they couldn't just show his face? I hope it's just that he's away on vaca!

@ngsstory For a network that’s become woke & all about showing power of “love”, they did exactly opposite by firing him instead giving him a chance to be a better human being (which it seems like he was on a journey to be). The CW is such a contradiction.
